TaylorMade's newest additions to its P700 iron series include the P7MB and P7MC, which fall into the players iron category and are designed for elite ball-strikers. In this exclusive video, 2nd Swing's Drew Mahowald and master fitter Thomas Campbell conduct a #TaylorMade #P7MB vs. #P7MC iron Trackman test and comparison. Specifically, they compare the two models in terms of performance, feel, and aesthetics.

It was a pleasure to watch Thomas hit all those draws through almost the exact same window. Wonderful precision. A comparison between these TM irons, and the newly introduced Mizuno JPX 921 Tour & the Forged irons would make for a very interesting video. I think that they are natural competitors (although the Hot Metal and Hot Metal Pro would be a better choice for myself).

Nice review. I am a big fans of forged cavity back iron. Hopefully, in the future you will do CB forged iron comparison between P7MC against other CB forged irons which #7 iron have the same loft (34 degree)

I tested the p770 (7 iron) against the p7mc (7 iron) and my own apex irons (8 iron because of lofts) on course over the last two days. When I struck it well the p7mc was by far the best also shape and control wise though reminds me of my previous p760s which I also loved also with less offset and a nice better look. Not enough to change compared to the pxg gen 3 irons which still stand out as my favourite if I can ever afford them. Hope to find and try the jpx 921s to compare also as another option but previously did not like the 919 hot metal pro. Perhaps the forged would be a good one to check out.

Great irons for sure but not cheap. Picked up a brand new set of Wilson Staff blades for roughly half the price

Great content as usual. But watching this video along with your P 770 video I'm surprised to see pretty much the same yardage with all 3 clubs in the 7-iron. I thought the P 770 would have more distance but maybe this was their plan to make them easily combo-able. But with the extra tech and 1 degree stronger loft you would think the P 770 would go farther than these two.

Thanks for the comment! That's a solid observation, P770 did not carry as far as maybe we would have thought in the video you are referring to. With that said, we do have another P770 coming in the next few days where that carry distance does jump up a little bit more.

@@2ndswing Thanks for the heads up. I have an MP 20 HMB/MMC combo and was going to replace the HMB long irons with P 770 because of the better profile. But not if I'm going to lose a lot of yardage. Looking forward to your video and hopefully a future HMB/P 770 comparison all the way down to the 4 iron. Thanks, guys !!

@@stevevetovich6771 That's an awesome combo set! One thing to note: the P770 standard 7-iron is one degree weaker than the MP-20 HMB 7-iron, which should account for about 3-4 yards of carry distance. I don't want to spoil the next video too much, but the P770 carry distance does jump over 185 in the next video (a comparison between P770 and P790). I like the idea of a Mizuno MP-20 HMB vs. P770 video. We'll add that to the list!

What does the leading edge look like on the P7MB? Is it sharper than the P790/P770 which is way more rounded to me than the old cavity backs I was playing.

Good video guys! In your opinion how does the P7MC compare to the Mizuno MP18 SC in terms of forgiveness? I love my SC’s but the P7MC has me drooling!

Thanks for watching! Have not tested those two models before in a one-on-one comparison, but from what we know about each, they'll be very similar. The P7MC might have a little longer blade length which would help with forgiveness, but we're talking a minimal difference. Of course, the MP18's have the benefit of Mizuno's classic forged feel which is nearly impossible to match. Both are excellent players cavity irons!
