I just got my set of Qi irons and noticed the hosel/neck of the 5-8 irons is different and jagged/edged. The 9 and wedges have a smooth hosel/neck. Take the 8 and 9 iron out and swing them in the air. You'll hear a very audible difference between the 2. It's almost like there's a lot more drag in the air with the 5-8 irons, than the 9 and wedges. Anyone else notice this? I noticed it immediately like something was wrong or loose...

I just had a go with a few of them. I think clubs the longer clubs make more noise simply because they are a bit longer and are effectively larger objects moving through the air. I couldn't tell a difference between the 8 and the 9 iron. I could tell a difference between the 9 iron and the 5 iron however, which as I say, I think is more down to just the overall mass. I don't think there is anything to worry about.

@@golffm6924 Thanks. My set, the 8 iron has a different hosel design than the 9 iron. I believe the edges on the hosel are making the noise when swinging in the air.

Aw man thanks for the vid. Yeah idk my swing speed but I know it’s not that fast! Plus I’m coming off an injury. So I was between the HL and the standard and I went HL. I think it will benefit me. Tya

Been considering the qi line. I was thinking of going HL but with a 115 shaft rather than the lighter stock shafts. I’m used to playing a 33 degree 7 iron, so I’d rather stick to something as close as possible, but these days unless you get a players iron, you aren’t finding a 33 degree 7 iron. I want the loft but I don’t need the light shaft for my swing. With all the tech in these I’m just wondering if a 115 shaft in the hl head will do what I want, or should I just go for the regular qi setup. Obviously distance is nice, but I don’t need my 7 iron going 200 yards either. Rather have more traditional yardages and landing angles, but with the help these clubs are designed to give and a little extra distance… thoughts?

I think you might get a 115 TT Elevate shaft, which is designed to get the ball up, if not there should be a shaft that does this to some extent, still around that weight. That could be a good combination for you with the HLs. I think you'll be glad if the tech and actually a bit more distance possibly also , certainly very forgiving

@@golffm6924 appreciate your reply. I’ll take a look and see my options. The only thing I worry about is the last time I used clubs with elevate shafts and a traditional lofted iron, I was sending them to the moon. They were the elevate 95. Maybe a more mid launch shaft would be better for me. Also considering the p790s, which is probably what I should be going towards. I know I should just get to a fitter, but it’s hard to find the time with work, and coaching two sports for my kids. Think I’ll just order a single 7 iron in what I believe is best for me with what I know and give it a go before committing to a full iron set

I just ordered the qi Hl .. love the feel ..they could work for mid to high handy.. I find they help someone for a low swing speed ?

The regular QI has a lower COG on the long irons than the HL so it would be more forgiving on low strikes. Did you gain any club head speed with the HL?

I used the same shaft in each, so I don't suppose there would be any other factor which would gain club head speed.
