The new TaylorMade Sim DHY + Sim UDi have been bought in to replace the GAPR which never really took off. They are designed to fit in between your longest iron and your most lofted fairway wood, in this video see what Ali thinks of both, do they offer what they should and will either be going in his bag.

When the Gaprs came out, I did extensive testing and the Gapr Mid (Sim DHY) really is the gem. I was ready to buy it but then saw the TXG guys say +pve things about the Gapr High - so I then tested it and all it does is take that 85 ft peak height and bump it up to 95-100 - so into greens the ball will hold. That said, most golfers either want the ball to fly lower (driving iron for wind in the UK) or high to stop into greens (Tiger uses a 19 degree 5wood). I've gone with the Gapr High #4 (22 playing open at 21) and the Mizuno CLK 16 playing closed at 17

bought the DHY 3 and 4 love the feel more forgiving as for me...was thinking about the 2 DHY, but staying with the 3....great video...tks...Ric

I got the GAPR Mid, but this one looks better... really happy with my current one when I want to keep it on a tight fairway. Would have to be miles better for me even to consider changing it to the newer model. Your test makes me feel the new DHY could replace it? Great video Ali.

Wondering how much harder is it to hit the 2DHY as opposed to the 3. My main goal is distance but I don't want to sacrifice ease of hitti g

Another great review Ali. Quick question but how would you compare the Sim UDI and the Titleist U500 (both in a 2 iron). I watched your review of the U500 when you first released it and I’m curious st to your thoughts between them. Thanks Ali and keep up the great work 👍

Hello, what is the coefficiency of restitution on these as compared to a driver, and say, an MP29 2 iron?

does DHY feel lighter than Gapr MID?? Similarly does UDI feel lighter in terms of headweight than DHY?

Hello Ali i have a question to ask is the sim dhy as friendly to hit off the deck as the sim hybrid, or is it just resenrved for off the tee?

Just an observation...are you trying to neutralize your swing path? It almost looks like you are trying to not come from the inside on the downswing and almost swinging out to in instead. It could be the camera angle though.

What were the lofts? Dhy is a chunky money! Not sure on driving iron or hybrid, like you i’ll have a gap top end with p790 p-4i, gapping session soon! Good content and food for thought! 👍

i strugle with the left tendency of the #gapr high 4. Are these new sims realy a match for the Cleveland Launcher UHX? 18 degree and numbered as a 3... Often overlooked but well worth a try!
