Since I keep getting the same questions, the below points should provide some answers. 1. Cost - I spent around $2,500 on the blind. It will be different for everyone depending on where you live. Also, the wood prices have gone up since I bought all my materials in January. Another benefit I had was I already had a lot of the materials and I had some buddies give me materials as well. 2. Roof Pitch - The roof drops 2 inches from front to back. 3. Power - I plan on using a solar panel now and will probably do it next year. 4. Stairs - I am aware of the stairs being unstable. I added supports under each step. Also, if you can’t tell in the video there is a railing. 5. Improvements - Since completing the blind I have added shelves and curtains. 6. Reasoning - I built the blind for 2 reasons. One, to enjoy hunting with my young son in a blind that was comfortable and spacious. My father (my sons’ grandfather) can even fit in there with us. Hunting should be a shared experience. Two, my buddies and I enjoy grabbing a case of beer and drinking in the blind to let loose. We don’t even care about shooting anything sometimes. This blind makes this even more fun to do. I will probably do most of my serious hunting with my bow out of my tree stands. Blind = leisure hunting Tree Stand = serious hunting 7. TV - I put a tv in the blind for two reasons. One, to watch college football during the evening hunts. The tv does have what’s called a volume button. I can turn it down so the deer won’t hear it. Two, I can connect the camera attachment on my spotting scope to the tv so I can really get a good visual on the deer.

Extremely well designed, planned, and completed. Craftsmanship is that of a true journeyman. Attention to detail exceptional. Having worked in the trades from a young age your work ethics are an example to those starting in the field. Hunting isn’t just about the kill. I have always roughed it. But having hunted in Texas your idea of comfort is over. The top! I’m a disabled Marine Combat Veteran having served in Vietnam and as a grunt we lived worse than rats! Sure wish we had you building our Shit Houses! Great Job! SEMPER FEDELIS

I am a contractor, electrician, and much much more and all I wanted to say was this project is awesome good job buddy! One thing I would recommend specially due to the acoustics and insulating as much as you did is add a sound deadening either to the floor sides or ceiling of your choosing that way just makes every shot A little more pleasant LOL but you did a great job. Other than adding the sound deadening as a sidenote may be a solar panel and back up battery so that way you don’t have to haul stuff back-and-forth but then you never have to leave! My hat off to you buddy keep up the good work.

Love the blind yours turned out a lot more finished then mine. I did a trap door with a ladder coming up to it. I went with deer view windows as well the are great. I went to high with my blind its 16 feet off the ground. I did a 8x8 platform with 8 foot cathedral ceilings so I could put a bunk in it. Deff fun 5aking my son out to hunt with me in it. Can't wait to finish mine its been a 3 year project so far

I really hope one of the grey haired guys that is helping you is the recipient of this stand, I build our second "nice" heated enclosed stand with stairs for my Uncle who turned 70 this year, I thought he was going to cry he was so happy. Definitely not this luxurious, just a place with heat and a roof where he can smoke a cigar without getting rained on. Or at least let em sit with you when the big game is on Lol. Love the ground anchors, a hell of a lot easier than what we used. We *finally* had the tensioner fail on one of ours for a stand that had been up for 25 years, so hopefully that portion of theirs is beefy too.

I’ve been designing and building a 7x7 octagon blind since January of this year. Lumber got so high, I stopped and waited until last week to finish up. I’m in it with 2x4 studs, 2x6 studs, 3/4” plywood, 1/2” plywood, elevator brackets, screws (I over-use screws but this thing sure as hell ain’t squeaking), and a few door components. I had planned on adding a 100 gal propane tank, mr buddy heater, carpet, plexiglass/acrylic windows, urinal tubing, etc but cost was way to high thanks to Covid prices on lumber. I had planned a full residential stair system for my elderly dad, but he’s gonna have to settle for a single slope 47* stair with 8” rise. Lol. I dubbed mine “moose mansion” ( I live in middle of lower 48 hunting whitetail and turkeys) because I also planned to have European mounts of deer I’ve killed or seen and found dead mounted to the wall in the blind with a Replica 60” Bull Moose Euro hanging from the frame outside. The guys I hunt with thought that would be a extravagant blind, I really want to show them this blind. Lol. I don’t think they’d ever go home, they’d get reported missing

Wow nice work not only on the build but the video, and links! It is funny how many people will bash you for non traditional hunting or being too comfortable. I actually was one of those guys for the longest time. Then during Quarantine I got a bunch of free wood and decided to build my own "Covid Castle" for our hunting land. The project took months of planning, tons of work, and diligence. But when it was all said and done and the temp dropped and there was a morning of freezing rain I knew I had a place I could sit all day comfortably. At that point I realized I was just jealous all of those year of people who had them and I didn't. I still spent my whole gun season hunting wherever I thought my best chances of killing a monster was, from the ground, or lone wolfs. All in all I only sat in my box blind 2 mornings out of a 9 day season. BUT they guys who filled there buck tags early had a blast keeping an eye on the blind for me shooting does in comfort! Keep doing what your doing, and ignore the negativity good luck huntin'!

This goes beyond hunting I mean yes I carry a portable battery pack to charge my phone and radio but a tv that isn't hunting that's wasting time in the woods to keep from being at home listening to the wife complain

Yeah watching tv while hunting seems weird to me, I’m content with just watching birds and squirrels as long as I’m not cold

@@Scorpion-cy1il the only thing a tv screen may be of use is for an older person to hook to the camera to zoom and see the deer better if hunting for management bucks

This is a great idea for anyone with hunting land with no house or camper on it. You could just camp for a weekend out of that and hunt

For solar, best to avoid the 18V panels. Get a basic ~320W panel for ~$125 and a charge controller that can handle voltage and amps. Use a 100 Ah marine battery. Consider water proof charge controller and pure sine wave inverter. There are some great inexpensive 500 - 600W options.

This blind looks awesome, I thought the TV was to watch from some hidden cameras in the woods but knowing its purpose I will ditch it :), in fact I am sure my dad won't let me put it in the first place, I can hear him 🤣🤣

Excellent attention to detail and some craftsmanship. If that was your father, looks like you got to spend some quality time together with the project. I put deerview windows in my blind too! Best of luck hunting!

Don't mind the haters in the comments. I'm building a fairly large deer "stand" for next season. 8x10...2 feet of that will be a landing porch. Well half will be a porch, the other half will be a cubby to hold my potty chair and propane bottle (for the heater) and just today I was looking at chairs that also folds out to a bed...you know so I can just nap there between the morning and evening hunt 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

The stairs and patio just finish it off. A few pot plants and a car port might add street appeal.
