Namibia: A Side Of Africa The Media Won’t Show You is a video about me exploring the southern African country of Namibia. I travel across it and pass through, Windhoek, sossusvlei, deadvlei and then I end up at Swakopmund to visit the oldest desert in the world at sandwich Harbour. This is me showing you what Namibia is really like through my eyes and some of the best things to do in one of the most beautiful African countries. Do like, watch and enjoy.

I really love seeing Africa portayed in a positive light by African creators. So much of what we see in the west about Africa is how bad everything is, and while certainly there is truth to that, this shift in perspective is needed. It's a beautiful and amazing continent with so many equally great people. It's the birthplace of humanity and it needs to be celebrated more than it is now by the rest of the world. Especially considering all the awful things its people have had to endure from Western corporations and governments for hundreds of years. Love from Australia.

Here we go again another person taken over by west propaganda 😂 go Africa and find out yourself what it’s like not so much positivity as this video Portrays sure there’s nice places Anywhere in the world… and saying they got “exploited” yh yh so did all the natives around the world got fu”ked by western travelers/explorers/settlers, does they mean there inherently “bad”…

@av SCompact i think i have heard that song in german while drinking to be honest, it sounded very familiar. but off course something would linger after all those years as a colony. the nations in southern africa are rarely talked about though, so very few know anything about them from before colonialism arrived. so i can see that being an annoyance. As a scandinavian i also have reaction akin to yours when non scandinavians try to act like they know a lot of our mythologies and cultures from the past (pre christianity) marvel are good at keeping destroying our heritage with their terrible Thor character, the series vikings did us a okay service, but a lot of research were most likely done for that. but namibia did look very poor when looking at some of the houses in the video. i wonder a lot these years why we are sending clothes and everything down to africa when we should export skilled people to help establish better infrastructure and produce wealth ( like helping make more farming area or forests again. im not talking digging the dessert up for minerals but helping establish a more rich soil for agriculture water treatments) and in those countries to help them, not to earn for our own pouches. instead of giving a fish, then teach to fish. if that requires helping with turning dessert into bountyful soil or forests, then that is where the effort should be, not tourism as any place that got too popular in that regard tends to become a less attractive place to live for the locals.

My first ever trip to Africa was to Namibia, this was in 2017. My mind was truly truly blown, I have never seen such amazing landscapes anywhere else on earth after traveling far and wide. Namibia is truly special, the colours, landscapes, the sights, the highways, the coasts, the national parks, the wildlife, and of course the desert. Started in Windhoek, spent 4 days in Sossusvlei/Sesriem (probably the most beautiful place in the whole world truly) - I can assure you that you'll never dream of seeing such colours anywhere else, red purple orange blue and yellow all in a glorious mix. Spent another 4 days in Etosha National Park, where I spotted all the Big Five creatures up close, and even rare white rhinos. Truly fascinating. Take my word for it, if you're ever considering Namibia - GO FOR IT, DON'T THINK TWICE! Cheers from INDIA

hmm in Europe we dont big deserts like that haha it looks like nowhere in Europe actually because almost everywhere you will have some kind of winter :P i wish i could like somewhere outside without mosquitos or frozen to death but that isnt possible like they show there. But it really reminds me of Scandinavia for many years Namibia is the country most Africans should look up to and think how they should change but they wont.

One thing about Namibia is that the desert coast is so pristine an isolated that it is one of the very few places left in the world where you can see the full starry night with minimum light pollution.

Actually rural Ireland we see the same, there isn't any light pollution. I agree with you though, looking up at the stars at night is amazing, I do it at home in my rural cottage, lay out in the small half acre of land stare at the stars. Like all my forefathers did before me... Sorry I drifted off there, its a typical Irish thing, storytelling... I very much hope to visit various African countries soon, Namibia, Congo , Zululand, Swaziland, Eqypt Ethiopia, Botswana, Algeria and Madagascar.

I feel like in my lifetime there is no way for me to explore every country 😔 And I mean to truly explore. I don't count visiting one city in that country as "check ✅- successfully explored". But I mean exploring the nature, countryside, smaller villages, meeting the locals, trying their food and experience their traditions. I think I would need 2 lives at least.
