I couldn't edit my last message for some reason, but had to add that I wore one of my wigs out for the first time on a visit to the Dr. the other day. The nurse immediately complimented my hair! I thanked her and then told her it was a wig. She couldn't believe it and then admitted that she too had thinning hair, but had been afraid to try a wig. She then added that I was "really rocking it!" I have you to thank!! So a huge "thank you" !!!!

It always had a knack for hair. When I was younger I wanted to be a stylist. Through the years people have said “oh I love your hair!” Whenever I tell them what products or tools I use they say “I don’t want to do all that” 🤣 I think it’s similar with wigs. Your simple tips have helped me to adjust to wigs and get my fluff on. lol. My biggest wig problem child is Arista. No matter what I do the front looks like a stringy mess but I’m not giving up! I will conquer her 💪. I hope you and your family are well, Taz 😘

So true Sharon! Thanks so much for the comments! I am VERY impatient. I don't have time to alter wigs, use product and all that.. if I can't make it look good using simple and quick techniques I give up on it...lol. Stay well and happy! XOXO
@ruadhscottygirl24803 жыл бұрын
I too have Arista. It was the first wig I found that had a gorgeous color for me (sumptuous strawberry). But I CANNOT get that front to stop being stringy either. I’ve tried crisscrossing strands, lightly backcombing, and in desperation went to product and steam, but to no avail. I always have one or two chunky strands falling in my face. So it sits on a shelf staring at me. Hopefully someday there will be a fix!

This is great info..some wig reviews are sadly so disappointing. RW wigs for me are so hard to figure out, as they seem to be so over styled in her..glad you used one of those! Fortunately, after 10 yrs of wig wearing and watching YOU, Pattie, ( and her 'shake the tar out of it'), and Jill Lynne, I can look at a wig and compare the measurements to my own-to figure out if it has 'potential' for me. Sometimes I make mistakes, but can usually dive in and make it work, after I think on it a while. Your info is GREAT!! Thank you for sharing! 💗

It took me 4 tries! My main issues are length because I didn’t realize my face is very petite and they just looked crazy! I literally would bust out laughing! I had to go shorter and use clips to hold the some of the side hair back and little by little I got used to all that hair. Don’t give up, you will love the results when you find “yours”!

Hi Taz, you’re a true wig wearing inspiration ! I went from depressed to need a wig after Covid and 6 or so months later enjoying the process with confidence. That is through you and your reviews and helpful styling tips. I now wish in my various world travels I had wigs for getting ready every night for dinner etc…by having a wig by choice not need. Boy the ease and time saving and better hair would have been a blessing. We no better we do better, right? My sweet 2.5 yo grandson thinks ladies take their “hats” off in the house. He has a nanny that wears wigs too…so when I’m visiting them he says “ Mimi no hat or runs in my room and says MImi wear this hat. “ poor kid is going to think ladies take their hair off at home, lol. Wouldn’t you know he has amazing beautiful hair that a toddler girl should have…go figure, lol. Anyway, I really must give you credit for my exploration and confidence wearing a wig, and not being afraid to play, cut, thin and style them…it’s made a world of difference. It’s strange needing a at this wig stage considering I was a Breck girl in the early 70’s, back in the day, and was a model for many hair product companies with long curly thick hair…now wigs are necessary. I look at the silver lining as I’m grateful wigs have progressed so far and are so fabulous now. I didn’t feel that way day one and was afraid to try them on…now I would like to explore how to become a reviewer. No one I’ve ever seen looks like you in any wigs with your beauty and confidence…it’s an inspiration of the best kind so thank you. Now to my problems…I don’t know how to solve…what do you wear under yours to properly secure? I ordered the adhesive rollerball, the recommended tape both I just received. I have head bands that ride up the back of my nape, I use Got 2B glue, and sewed in some pressure clips at nape at sides above ear tabs. They still expose my side hair and ride up a bit…don’t come off…just I can feel them ride up and I don’t like it or know if it’s normal for everyone? I even buzzed my hair to 1/2” at the end of October…wow shocking for never having short hair in 66years but very freeing. Any tips would be so greatly appreciated. Your beautiful, lovely and real…thanks again. 💖💖💖

I've seen you show somewhat similar tips before and I use them daily. Makes a huge difference! My question is: How do you get your new Going Places to look as good as the PS blonde one you had on in the opening? I returned my Going Places immediately bc I had no idea how to "organize" the wave pattern to look sane. So I guess the questions is: THEN what?? Thanks so much!!

Hi my friend! I just continued to fluff and separate each layer. As I fluff, I scrunch it up one layer at a time. The RW heat friendly fiber seems to respond very well to this type of manipulation. The more I mess with it (pick and fluff) the better it looks! STILL.. the 2 Going Places look very different. The latter one doesn't have nearly the curl..:-( We have to work with what we have, right? Hope this helps! Wouldn't it be great if we could all meet up once a week and work on our wigs!..lol Hugs! Very helpful. Amazing what a little shaking & combing can do. I'm new to this and really see how it's pretty much the luck of the draw on wigs...same styles can look very different out the box. They can react very differently with wave direction, strands that don't want to do anything but lay flat on your face (bangs). I'm thinking in my journey I will probably be returning wigs that have an odd wave pattern since those are pretty much permanent on a synthetic, non-heat friendly wig. Also, imo, women with an average-petite head circumference make great wig models as evidenced w/Taz. Smaller head sizes, 21.5 - 22 can wear virtually any wig and look great. I'm learning that with a 23" circumference it's not going to be so easy finding attractive wigs.

Hi Taz, your videos are so different, so informative, and this one is no different 👌🏻 My wigs never seem to look as natural as yours or Nisha’s do. They do get matted quite quickly too. I’ve noticed, especially on belle tress Caliente, that the left mono part is more zigzaggy which isn’t natural looking. Not sure why they make them like this. It isn’t as bad messing around with full mono wigs. Any tips to make it straight without the weft showing please? What’s the wig with the letter ‘H’ behind you please? 🙏 x

This is so true! For instance Ellen Wille Movie on their site looks nothing like it looks coming out of the box and watching your KZfaq review convinced me to get it. It’s a gorgeous wig, now discontinued. I’ve got three, the last I ordered came so much curlier than the other two! But I love it since that might allow more time before it starts to lose its glory! You have no idea how often I think about how I wish I had started my wig journey ten years ago.

Oh also what shampoo and conditioner also.

I use Jon Renau shampoo and conditioner. But other than that, I am not a fan of products in my hair as it makes me have to wash it more frequently. I enjoy the Estetica Sea Salt Spray occasionally to create some nice texture in a wavy wig. You may like this video for securing wigs kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e9tki9p9vK3IlGQ.html XOXO

Very helpful! I have a question about how to “style” or change the front of the hair on a wig. I just got my first wig, the Arrow by Ellen Wille. I really love it! The only thing is that the font of the hair seems to really fall forward and cover my face and I’m not sure how to keep it out of my face. I keep trying to brush the front/top up and away but it just falls forward. I did thin it out a little bit after watching one of your other videos. Was just wondering if the best thing to do is use some products on it, or would washing it make a difference?
@TAZSWIGCLOSET3 жыл бұрын
Washing it may give the hair a bit more "body" so that your manipulation away from the face will hold better.. Products may help, but you may actually need to steam it away from the face if it comes down to nothing else working. Arrow has a long front (14"), so the weight of it may keep it flopping in the face unless you use clips or steam it back:-) Hope this helps! XOXO

The biggest difference to me between you and 90% of other reviewers is in the hands... yours fluff, pick, bring in air and separate; others flatten, pull down, subdue and take the life right out of the styles. Off course it’s about personal preference, but I certainly prefer your way. 😋 Thanks for this more in depth explanation! ❤️

Thanks so much for this feedback! I agree, we all have different preferences. One single reviewer cannot please everyone, so I just do it my way and try to explain the methods that works for me! Hugs! XOXO

My new wig looks aweful after wearing it for two weeks. The ends look ratty. I’m looking here for a video about how to freshen it up without washing it. I made the mistake of spraying the ends lightly with the seasalt spray and it left it sort of like sticky on the ends. Do you have a video about how to freshen a wig up after daily wear? I have the Belletress Caliente. Thank you!

Taz, I’m confused- when working with a curly wig, won’t all that combining pull half the curl out? Also, if you’re ONLY combing they the roots to fluff, HOW can we get the bottom half of the wig to MATCH that fluffiness without undoing the curl?? Shaking it isn’t often enough to remove that stringy/ clumpiness to it.
@TAZSWIGCLOSET3 жыл бұрын
I have good experience with these methods on all types of textures.. I comb just the root and finger fluff the other areas as shown.. I lift each layer and "pick & fluff" them individually. If you've worn the wig and its stringy you may need more intervention like gentle brushing or combing those areas:-) Hope this helps! XOXO
