For pilot raiders with spinning effects, like the Gorn Hunter and Courier, should have 3 options added to them: 1. disable spinning visuals, 2. enable spinning visuals on pilot maneuvers only, 3. enable spinning visuals.

one of the most detailed build videos i've ever watched... beautiful build and, very close to the one i built for myself, i have been a gorn ship plasma advocate from the start and bought 3 of them for different builds, dps, sci and well i just have one in the box in my bank because i'm a collector and just like looking at it XDD, I use the corrosive plasma cannons just because i had them already from years back and the kdf mission console still buffs the corrosive proc... my only issue is with 2 of the borg doffs you have chosen... i think you need 22 of 47 but honestly i can't remember offhand, 300Mil ec on exhange and it procs more often than that 1 billion ec doff you have but i have both because i bought them when they were a little cheaper :))

Cryptic has very quietly buffed up plasma and disruptor this year with the consoles and traits off the Gorn Hunter Raider and the summer event ship. It's caused me to redo multiple builds to use them.

Nice i just got another it6, was torn between the adapted destroyer and the dhailkhina. ended up going with the tsad, next it6 will be dhailkhina. As soon as you get the main meta ships it gets easier to choose the next ship of the line. Look forward to the Shaval for the next promo ship.

Jesus Spence, such a casual build... In all seriousness though, nice build! I'm trying to upgrade my 'elite' captain, who only manages 160k, and this video is great for tips and such. My overall take away, apart from Isomags being king, is that I should look at some other DOffs. I generally PuG, so I do run more 'self-heal' stuff (like Tac Team and Hazard Emitters), so don't get a build as focussed as that.

First of all, I'm impressed. Secondly I'm worried more and more about the powercreep we are experiencing. Also I'm probably still underestimating the maelstrom, when downgrading torp-spread 3 to 2 makes you loose more dps than CEA 1 deals.

This is why I've been ignoring the meta and making theme builds for years now. Power creep has been getting worse and worse every time they release new content, and that's never gonna change because it makes them money. Fortunately, you don't need any of it. If you play on normal difficulty, any ship with any good build will do you fine. You're only spending hundreds of dollars (if not thousands) if you want to beat the DPS record on ISE for the millionth time.

Wow! I picked up the Gorn Hunter when it came out…. Little did I know that plasma was the new meta and that all that blood I spilled getting the Gorn Hunter will be apart of the meta.

I've been very eager to see this. This is a really awesome vid Spencer. A couple questions though. Would Corrosive Plasma synergize well with this because im heavily invested in them. Also Ive been using Reroute Power from Life Support to negate to subsystem offline from OSS. Is that worth slotting instead of Distributed Targeting? I'm very eager to attempt this on my Engineer once I can acclimate to the ketbind you suggested.

Salty liked using RPfLS on his Dhailkhina way back, I just was never a fan of it hurting ability CD. Less of an issue with boimler, but didn't want to risk it. Corrosive would be fine, realistically we're not going to see that 2.5% proc go off more than 1-2 times a run.

Nice vid....lots of into I wonder if the trait and console have any significant impact on a sci or dew sci build for things like plasma storm and PEB torp. Thoughts?

For plasma storm, it shouldn't. For Torps, Complex Plasma will only apply one stack per firing cycle per foe, so you're not able to build stacks up quickly with plasma torps.

Impressive build - what specializations are you using here? Don't think I saw that in the video. Also that new Dal R'el doff is totally bugged - the FAW proc never happens and doubt the healing one does either.

Would you mind doing a Starbase 234 Elite run video? With no dps parser I know about, the SB234 time is the closest thing console players have to measuring dps, albeit on a single target mostly. I'm just interested to see how well the plasma fires does vs SV234.

Since I have superior area denial, would it not be worth swapping out CBtS or Ruin for SAD and using To'duj squadrons? Since I'd be using CSV anyway, it would synergise with this build because of the DR debuff. Instead of beam overload, I could use FAW for movement, thus triggering SAD again. I know the damage wouldn't be huge since there's no other pet traits, but I think it would be higher than the mirror universe shuttlecraft.

question would replacing clam before the storm with shes a predeter be a good substitute. knowing that you can get 40% plus damage with marquis trait and 27 secs with all infiltrators boffs. reason being i don't have access to some of those star ship traits.

Not sure what you think about it. But here are a couple of things that seem nice, first is a tactical console Fek'ihri torment console. Buffs plasma really well plus buffs dot both better then the lure console, secont is a science console you have the Weapon Signature Nullifiers and Amplifiers which boost plasma and adds an additional plasma dot dmg to energy weapons.

Hey Spencer I have a question regarding power levels with romulan ships. I'm used to flying federation ships so when I get into a warbird The mediocre power levels throw me off. I will have Isomags for weapon power, I will be using the Discovery singularity core. Are there any duty officers I should be getting to assist with power levels or consoles? I was looking at the Deimos for my event ship but I find I'm liking this one better. I just wouldn't have pilot maneuvers or pilot abilities.

There's an engineer doff that gives you +20 power levels with emergency power abilities. Also some of the borg security doffs give a chance for full power levels. I would use override subsystem safeties or reroute reserves from life support to help with power on Roms. Make sure you put a lot of skill points into power levels and warp core efficiency.

Anyway you can. There's so many cooldowns in the game now. Boimler, Peak Efficiency, Ruin of Our Enemies, DOMINO Console, Borg Deflector doffs, etc. Or you can use Aux2Bat for power if you have a lot of aux power levels. @@Ookamimoon66

I use Viridian weapons. 30% cycle haste ie cyclic rate for all viridian weapons. I use rep items and tac consoles on a mirror Gagarin warship. I am almost entirely plasma cannons. I have 5 characters in a fleet and they all use Viridian weapons. Maxed on Endeavors and will max again if they increase the total points again. And no Piezo-Electric Focuser? that is 55% plasma damage with 2 pieces of the set, 15% turn rate and 20% shields max upgrade ???

Visiting this build on one of my alts because it has this ship and almost all things needed. Have you checked whether hangar pets such as scorpion fighters will help trigger complex plasma fires?

From what I'd seen no. I'd recommend the Type 7 pets from the Ahwahnee as the debuff they bring in will provide a nice boost.

This is the first dil offer I made-offer type buy, price 498 fil, quantity 1 zen. This has not sold in 2 days. Should I change it to something that might sell better?

Yeah, right now I think the only hope you have of getting dil sold for zen is to list it at 500. 498 or 499 could take months to go through. 500 should be instant or within a few hours.

Currently, there is some Zen available to immediately buy at 500 dil:zen. So your dil should have sold and the zen should be in the exchange balance at the bottom right.

Just stick with that for now. If you're doing a plasma setup, aim to grab the Gorn ship eventually and grab the exp weapon off that.

Great video, thanks. Quick question: How do i change my Specializations? Right now, i have Intelligence as my primary and Commando as my secondary. I cannot see any way to change them around, is it just not possible or is there a way?

Press U or hit the head Icon on the upper right of the mini map and select your character. Go to skills tab. There's a drop down window for specializations and you can select what you want as primary and secondary. Commando and Constable can only be secondary, as they're not complete skill trees.

Curious why you didn't find a MW ship with 8 isomag potential and NSB3+MAS3. Surely that extra final damage modifier weapon power and +cat1 boosts your DPS further?

There was no option for that which retained the Experimental weapon and had a sufficient boff setup for what I wanted. Theseus was closest, but had some issues and never performed as well for me.

While I am all about the DEW, a few things make me reluctant to invest in the Gorn Raider: - The trait is strong primarily in Elite content. - The trait is specific to a single energy flavour only (Plasma). - There is always the chance that Cryptic could do another balance pass on both the trait and Exp Weapon. Which also goes for the Maelstrom Torp.

Whats the damage difference between withering barrage and using entwined tactical matrices to keep CSV going and having a lot of maelstrom torp spreads?

Maelstrom has a 25s recharge time, ETM would not be good to combo with it. Withering barrage is much easier to work with. Just slot it and your CSV has 14/15s uptime.

As it was released this year. It will only be added to event campaign boxes from 2024 onward. It will not be added to anything prior to that.

Yes, that issue was specifically with Fire At Will. Was fixed within a few weeks.

Plasma is now better than Spiral Waves? I feel like this is a secret the Romulans didn't want us to know. I do have the Dhailkhina. And I've got the means to get the Gorn Hunter...but I've spent a lot of time and money on my Spirals. Dang.

Your Spiral Waves still work fine, but if you're looking for something else to play with or want to go for a bit more DPS, Plasma with the gorn stuff does perform a bit better in content where things live long enough to the trait to do its thing. In normal/advanced I'd just stick to Spiral Waves

In elite content Plasma is currently performing better than all other energy types due to the DoT trait discussed in the video. But in normal/advanced content phaser or disruptor are still best.

I see talk about nerfing plasma now. Why would they nerf the only thing making plasma stand out and be competitive? Honestly, if they ever do a needless nerf to the gorn raider stuff I'll never invest in anything other than phaser again.

STO is the most unnecessarily pay-to-win game I've ever seen. You wouldn't ever need a fraction of this build's power to beat any content in the game, and this could potentially cost you hundreds of dollars. I get that people like breaking records and pushing limits, but that seems like the only appeal here. Literally no practical reason to spend money on this kind of thing.
