@@gabrielabagala True. Monica could have said no but instead said "I guess we've established she's staying here with Monica." In the beginning Rachel was quite spoiled and Monica was a pushover. They matured a heck of a lot over the years (as most people do). Friends was one of the few long running shows that ended with proper closure giving the fans what they wanted.

@@trinsims7666 Chandler offered to continue to pay for Joeys apartment for some months, and THAT is not realistic. However, Joey declined. Rachel was not "kicked out" to the street, she can stay "as much as she need" (Monica said). Also she declined Joeys offer to share with him. So, Chandler and Monica are more than generous!

@@pavitrprabhakar3981 It is not very realistic that two young friends live together and only one is the one who pays, for years! to the point that the one who does not pay does not even know how the payments are made, nor how much is the approximate amount. The authors made Joey dumber and dumber over the years, to the point that when Chandler moved out, he was more of his guardian than his roommate. This situation can happen in real life, but not very often. Now, if your friend has been paying all your expenses for a long time and he takes care of everything related to your house, it may be that he wants to continue paying even after he has moved... but it would be as rare as winning the lottery.

In my opinion Monica presented the situation wrong. Why would she tell Rachel that her and Chandler are moving in together at the last minute knowing that Rachel has no where to live or go like what? 😕🤔 If Monica told Rachel that she wants to move in with Chandler from the very beginning out of consideration and advanced that will give Rachel enough time and energy to find a suitable and balanced place.

I agree. I know it's comedy so things moves quickly and the apartment is technically Monica's but Rachel lived there with her for 6 years! Monica sits her down and says "Chandler and I want to live together now." Interpretation: You gotta go. And Monica was sad about Rachel going but as you said, the presentation is just a little odd which is probably another reason why Rachel was in denial.

Tbh I do feel like that when chandler and monica we’re gonna move in together they should have let Rachel stay because they’re gonna share a room anyway and Rachel shares the apartment with Monica she also pays rent and that stuff so I feel like it would’ve been fine if Rachel still lived there because they were going to share a room and Chandler wouldn’t take up that much space anyway

Yeah I agree if Rachel and Monica rented out the place together from the start, Monica would have no right asking her to move just cause she got a boyfriend. However cause it was under Monica’s name to begin with or her grandmothers name, she technically has a right to do that :/
