Can you imagine how heartbreaking that must have been for the Iranian wrestler. 12 or 10 seconds away from a gold medal and you got caught. That seems to happen a lot in competitive wrestling matches. Still that's got to be really hard to live down. I know we got a silver medal but he's always going to think about how very close he was and what he could have done to just stall out the last few seconds.

His undoing was his defensiveness. He fought most of the match that way. It almost worked, but being so much on the defensive is risky - your opponent always has the initiative.

20+ years of wrestling, ultimate goal being an Olympic gold medal and he loses it in 15 seconds. On the opposite side tho, 20+ years of wrestling for Taylor, and it all leads to him getting a takedown and winning the gold medal. The feeling of accomplishment he had must have been indescribable

هنوز و هر بار که این فینال رو می بینم قلبم به درد میاد ، بعد این مسابقه تب کردم و کرونا گرفتم و ده روز افتادم...گاهی نمی شود که نمی شود...اما در جهانی نروژ اگه این رویارویی باز هم تکرار بشه من مطمئن هستم که نتیجه این بار غیر از همیشه خواهد بود...چیزی نمونده نهایتش سه روز دیگه...تیلور هم با اینکه سه بار و هر دفعه بیشتر کام ایرانی ها رو تلخ کرده اما رقیب بسیار قابل احترامی ست زنده باد کشتی ، زنده باد تمامی ورزشکاران و پهلوانان در سراسر دنیا ✌❤

8:47 Yazdan punched the floor. He was clearly angry his strategy didn’t work. He barely attacked. He was being extra careful the whole time. I wish he chose to attack David vigorously like he normally do to other people. You die with glory or honour; one way or another

I noticed it was just push outs and relying on his defense. Also, Taylor hit a double leg right off his left side underhook, something Yazdani is known for. That's just adding insult to injury.

He had the right strategy he just messed up, his other two bouts with david taylor he tried to match his aggression, but taylors cardio is much better and yazdani would gas out, this was their closest match to date

You must have been watching with your eyes closed. Tylor received a warning which he lost a point to for not working in the first round. Yazdani was attacking and Tylor stalling.

Defeating a veteran like Yazdani is a great achievement. Salute Taylor. Interestingly, Taylor defeated Yazdani to take the gold the same way as Yazdani had against Geduev in the 2016 Olympics - by coming from behind!!

The right wrestler won this match. Taylor scored 2 takedowns, while pushing the pace the entire match. Yazdani was totally defensive the entire match. Didn't attempt any takedowns. It would have been terrible to see the gold medal go to someone who's only points were on 3 push outs.

2:45 That's a really stupid rule that you can push the opponent out for 1 point, but if he goes down on his knees you won't get any points. That just allow wrestlers to avoid giving up step-out points by dropping down every time instead of actually using technique to defend.

Yazdani is probably the greatest wrestler of our time (Olympic Gold Medalist, 3 time World Cup winner , 3 times World Champion in 3 different weight classes) after Sadulaev but stylistically Taylor always gives him trouble, perhaps the only wrestler to really test him.

World Cup doesn’t matter. Jordan Burroughs has a better career. Can’t say greatest after mention he is second to the Russian tank. Arguably, Kyle Snyder is better since he has the tank in his weight class. The two big heavyweights also match yazdani’s career accomplishments. Not really sure why you speak on yazdani as being superior

He has nothing like a super wrestler, just an ordinary medalist wrestler like many medalists that came in wrestling and left

Starting at 6:02 Yazdani grabs Taylor's singlet in an effort to reinforce his underhook. This is why Taylor's singlet is ripped. Illegal or sneaky move by Yazdani. 😔

Taylor wasn't working at all in the first 2 minutes and the referee should have given him a warning and 1 point to Yazdani but we did not see that. They could complain to the referee about that.

That’s an old video from Tokyo. The reverse happened in Norway just recently. In any case, after the Iranian wrestler won, he gracefully thanked Taylor for inspiring him to practice harder to win.

Контрборьбы вообще никакой , защита тоже слабая ,малейший импульс движение от Тейлора сразу 2 балла а то и туше. 90 проц баллов в боях с Тейлором это толкание ещё за ковер. Боец чуть выше среднего ,
