Very clear demo, great work! I got an X3 and play horns & harmonica thru it. Cheers!

Hey. Thx for the comment. That’s crazy. Never heard effects on horns.

Hey Rob! Great demo of the Plethora X3. I had one and I thought it was excellent, especially since I've always been a fan of TC Electronic, but sold it and a few other pedals to be able to buy an Eventide H90. I miss the X3 though and will probably pick up another one someday. Also, that Pigtronix Micro Disnortion is a great and versatile pedal that's usually overlooked by the marketplace. You can pick up a used one for $50US or less.

Hey. Thx for the comment. Yeah it’s a really great little box im absolutely loving it so far. How’s the H90. I could never spring for one!! Just too much money. The Disnortion is a fantastic pedal. I actually had the big version for a few years. Bought it 3 times!!!
@frankfrank79218 ай бұрын
@@TheGuitarEffect On the H90 so far I've only used the presets but it does sound amazing. The pitch shifting and reverbs especially are among the best I've heard. Is it worth its $899US price tag? Probably not, maybe it should've been $600 or so but I was in an "I've got to have that" state of mind when I bought it. I largely financed it by selling several pedals I felt would be redundant once I had the H90. The Plethora X3, EHX Grand Canyon and EHX Pitchfork+ were among the ones that had to go (all very good pedals I might add)

Thanks for the detailed info about making up the preset packs for specific songs in the Plethora. Been searching for someone who came up with the same idea I've been wandering for some time, and here you are, at last! Is there a noticeable lag when switching between presets in the pedal? Is there a spillover for the delays when changing boards?
@TheGuitarEffect8 ай бұрын
Hey. Thx for the comment. Really glad you found the video useful. So to answer your questions yes and yes. Yes there’s a lag when switching presets. But they are pedal boards so I think the idea is you don’t switch between them mid song. At least that’s entirely how I see it. However there’s no lag when remotely activating individual effects.

I think that you’d dig the Nova Modulator by TC… it’s a similar set up to the Nova Drive, programmable tones scenes can be saved, it’s also a dual set up to play dual mods if u like… one of the stellar tones (they’re all good and useful) is the zero flanger like a flange that the volume swells really effing cool! Dig ur demos as always… I ended up putting the Nux Amp Academy at the end of my Cerberus for my makeshift Trident lol. I love Cerberus paired with AA🤘🏾
@TheGuitarEffect8 ай бұрын
Hey Taurus. So I have the nova drive and I had the nova repeater back in the day. They’re a great series of pedals. I love the Cerberus. I sold mine cause I just don’t need it but it’s fantastic. I loved the sound of the AA. But just didn’t get on with it live.

Have you considered the Boss MS3? You can also add 3 "external " pedals to it and control all the modulation through it. Thank you
@TheGuitarEffect3 ай бұрын
Hey thx for the comment. I’ve owned the MS3 and have made several videos about it. It’s one if the best effects solutions out there. The functionality is absolutely outstanding but the sounds while good aren’t great.

Hey. Can you make with this pedal simplest operation like: e.g. 20 songs which have different presets on 3 slots, and you switch up.down between these via those two switches? And can the presets be named custom (like a song name to be sure what preset I am using?)
@TheGuitarEffect5 ай бұрын
Hey. Yes. That’s exactly what I was doing with it. Except I was was switching between boards with MIDI. But you can scroll between boards with the double footswitch press. And yes you can name the presets. But you o Lu see that name for a split second while you load the preset.
@dustblowboro5 ай бұрын
@@TheGuitarEffectMany thanks! So there's absolutely no way to the song name to appear while you are on the preset? I guess no, but want to ask!
@TheGuitarEffect5 ай бұрын
Hey. I looked for how to make the song name appear in the preset but I couldn’t see it. I’ve actually moved this pedal on. The MIDI capabilities just weren’t reliable enough.
@MonkeyDLuffy-cq2loАй бұрын
does it has distortion or any amp modeling? why TC don’t produce effects with distortion?
@TheGuitarEffectАй бұрын
Hey. Thx for the question. No it doesn’t. The philosophy behind it is that it’s part of a pedalboard not a standard multi effect unit. I actually discuss this in the video

Nice demo. I have a question. Did you notice the didital nature of the Plethora because it hasn't got an anolog dry through? I ask this because I don't want to mess with the core sound of my tube amp. If it becomes to pristine it's useless for me for my blues/rock applications.
@TheGuitarEffect8 ай бұрын
Hey. Thx for the comment. So my answer is no. I didn’t notice any tone suck of any kind. However I would say I’m not a purist in that Sense. So I couldn’t be totally relied upon to notice it
@IsaacSturdee3 ай бұрын
Anything digital converts analog signal to digital and then converts it back after processing. Plethora is not true bypass out of the box but you can change it in the settings I believe. That said, it’s a digital pedal… so it doesn’t have analog signal through when any effect is engaged. I’d challenge anyone to actually notice. There’s thousands of digital pedals used everywhere without complaints.
@marcohermans32073 ай бұрын
@@IsaacSturdee, when I compared the analoque pedals like the hall of fame or flashback delay with the counterparts in the plethora I noticed a significant difference in sound. The analoque pedals sounded much warmer to me in comparison. It's based on the same software so it has to be the different conversion/analoque dry tru that makes them different. Finally I didn't buy the plethora.
@HalfEatenMushroom3 ай бұрын
@@marcohermans3207 the pedals you mentioned are in no way analog. They are purely digital, the exact same algorithms that are in the Plethora. Any differences would be up to TonePrint settings.
@marcohermans32073 ай бұрын
@@HalfEatenMushroom, with the stand alone pedals the effect is added (parralel) to the analoque signal. With the plethora the whole signal chain is converted to digital and then back. It's only analoque dry through when the effects are off. You can also change this in the settings This whole difference makes for my ears at least a lot of difference. Even TC electronic admits this.

Hey thx for the comment. It’s a fair question. The i ok my reason I can think of is they don’t have an EQ pedal in the TonePrint range. But they have EQ functionality in the editor. It would be usedul

Just buy a cheap EQ pedal. It’s not really built for that purpose.
