Hey gents! I went on my "time machine" and found you two: Craig and Tom ... demoing this unit, which I happen to have acquired recently. I learned a lot from you guys. And along the way, also enjoyed your non-boring and funny conversations. The first video I came across, Craig, was the one you had with that awesome singer who sang Adelle 's song while you taught about setting this unit, the TC HELICON Live. That was amazing. Thanks for sharing that with us. I viewed 3 of that series a couple of times now. I definitely would have to go back and review it many times more, until I get them in my memory ... and speaking of; which sometimes behave like RAM. With Gingko and othe brain nutrients, of course, someday, it will behave like a ROM 😁 Blessings to you both, Tom and Craig. 🙂🙏🎶

Hi guys, congratulations on the video, it was very nice and clear. Just a quick question (sorry if it sounds stupid or obvious) : which could be the problem with the fact that the VLPA does not have dedicated stereo outputs for the voice and the guitar? I mean, to play at Home or in a cofee shop there shouldn't be any problem but how about playing on stage in a concert with a Sound engineer setting everything up? What would I loose if I send both signals separated but in "mono"? Thank you very much in advance and regards.

Hello TC Helicon, I hope you can help me out. I recently got a playacoustic and a brand new sennheiser e835 mic. I use the playacoustic with my headphones (marshall). When i listen closely I hear weird sounds. I can’t discribe it but weird cracking and flanger type of sound. You can hear this the best on preset 40 (Believe). This preset is totally useless because the weird sound is really loud. I tried to pit down the mic gain you can still hear it even when unplugged. When i change from preset 40 to 41 it goed a little bit away. But when i press 40 again en talk in the mic it starts again. I really want the product what can i do about this?

Is the auto key accurated for the major & minor harmony with or without any instrument? Is the harmony better & more natural than the other one (tc helicon harmony singer)? Which one you prefer for the reverb : this one or tc helicon harmony singer?

I have TC Helicon Play Acoustic for a year or more. It was a great device! Just recently, the unit acts strange. It turn on OK, but suddenly it just HANG/ FREEZE. Display is ON, stuck with all buttons and knobs not working. Also it can not detect input sound, no output either. I have tried to RESET, and also updated the unit with latest firmware via VoiceSupport. The problem still happens after a couple of minutes ON. Any suggestions? Please help!!!

Hey TC... You said you had feedback about not being able to change the guitar sound and might have some good news about that. What is that news and has that happend now as I am looking at this video on July 11th 2018.

Craig/Tom: what's the best way to program the Play Acoustic for a set in your experience? I know saving presets to the Favorites menu is the generic answer. But say for one song I have a basic sound/preset for the verse, then maybe I Hit on a double vocal for the pre chorus, then I have a harmony for the chorus, and then a specific echo/delay for the bridge. In that one song I'd be tap dancing all over the place (either up or down or all up to get to the presets). Then you add more songs and the programming becomes laborious & cumbersome. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks in advance. #singersclubhouse #dohashtagsworkinyoutube?

Question... if I run this through my fishman loudbox artist...will my effects loop be affected? pun maybe intended... haha. I have only tested it fx box-->PA speaker...am curious of user general feedback when D.I.ing into acoustic amp then D.I.ing that signal to the mixer. I want to use my ditto x2 as some loops are longer than the PA fx box can handle.

Hi! I currently use a boss oc-3 octave pedal as part of my setup, sometimes to add bass lines in loops but mostly I have it set to poly and have it on constantly but subtly, just adding a general thickness to my guitar sound. Baring in mind that the play acoustic needs a clean signal going in to give the best result for harmonies etc; how would I look to link up an Oc-3 with the play acoustic? Any info would be great! Thanks

Please guys at TC HELICON! Could we have a ”less bright/more comp” tone preset??? Is the only one that is missing and it would be extremely helpful for the people like me who like the ”more comp” mode but sometimes at loud environments would be very helpful to combine it with the ”less bright to prevent the feedback issue!!

Not a happy camper I finally find an ultimate tool to gig with and I can’t find this product anymore. It’s like this company went under or something. I will try and find used I guess but wow it’s going up in crazy in price. I hope I can find one this tool seams so amazing!

Yeah Switch 6 can add a lot of versatility. You can assign vocal/guitar or looping to it.

Please tell me one thing, can we use VOCAL CANCEL feature live on stage also in our PA system to sing with original track (karaoke), I am only waiting for this answer before buying this unit.

+Ravish Goel Yes, but if it's a Karaoke track it likely already has the vocal removed. You probably won't need Vocal Cancel at all.

Can I connect this to my LR Baggs Di ,instead of using the TC for my Di?these are my fx giga delay>Zoom A3>Fishman Aura 16>(I would put the TC here).Perhaps some may say overkill lol but I like to play with unusual sounds and modulations.Perhaps I should just get the TC Harmony Singer (little Blue stomp pedal)because I think I have the guitar modelling covered with the Aura 16.Your thoughts?

+Anthony Rochester The more you modulate the guitar sound prior to it getting to our pitch detectors, the higher the chance you have of the chords being detected incorrectly. Your ideal setup is to go directly into the Play Acoustic prior to any effects. (preamps/EQ are fine)

Another silly question ,please forgive me Im fairly bad with even the easiest tech stuff.So I put the Play Acoustic first then to my LR Baggs Di (it doesnt have fx just Eq,I know I can eq on The TC but I just would like to use the Baggs).The main question ,the TC doesnt have a phone jack out I would need that to patch the next effect in line on my fx chain.What can I use if anything to go from out connection on TC to In on my FX pedal or LR Baggs)?thanx for your patience and help

+Anthony Rochester You can definitely go from the Baggs to the Play Acoustic, you just don't want to put too many effects like distortion or chorus/flange etc. prior to the Play.

+Aiden Myers Music No, but people have asked for some sort of dry/wet control in the headphone output of our devices so that they can hear their dry voice a bit better. It's certainly a neat idea. I don't think you'll see it as a feature addition to current products because it'll require some fairly substantial re-jigging of the underlying routing, but we'll definitely look at it for future products.

I am really interested in buying this product however I would like to confirm something first. I read that the looper time capability is Stereo: 15 seconds with Undo (30 seconds without), Mono: 30 seconds with Undo (60 seconds without). Is stereo in this case represented by guitar one out and voice one out making it stereo? Thanks

+AspiringGuitarist Functionally it's the same as stereo (so yes 15 sec of loop time), but it's called dual-mono. That's the default output mode. If you turn undo off you get 30 secs. Mono mode gives you the 30/60 sec time, but sums both guitar and vocal onto one single mono output. The other output is just dry voice at that point.

LOL you guys are funny. You make product demos lively and fun. Oof...the guitar falling sound. >< Subbed! Just a $1500 guitar...hehe. Question, I've been debating getting a Fishman Loudbox Artist amp pretty much solely because of the headphone jack...BUT if I get the T.C. Play Acoustic, could I just get away with the Fishman Mini because of the headphone jack on the TC Play Acoustic? Do I even need an amp? I'm thinking I could if it's hooked up correctly. I'm just playing at home so I don't need all that wattage. I've never tried to amplify an acoustic/electric before so I apologize for the silly questions. Looking for some direction before I spend any cashola. Also, I am hard of hearing so the headphone jack is a must some of the time...and yeah I live in a townhome with a shared wall so that's the other reason. Turns out that my neighbor is an avid drummer after 10:30p. ;) Thanks!

+spacep0d Thanks for the kind words! Play Acoustic is designed to go directly to the PA, in either stereo as a mix of both vocal/guitar or as 2 mono feeds. (if you decide to play live somewhere). For home, I'd grab a guitar/headphone cable and just run out of the play acoustic. It'll sound great. TC-Helicon Fantastic! Nice to know that I don't even need an amp, initially. That cable is ingenious! That really would reduce clutter so I'm not tethered by both a guitar and headphone cable attached to a unit on the ground. I really like how neat that is, and how the headphone input is much higher-up. Super clever. I'll definitely order both when the time comes. Thanks again. You guys rawk!

Actually I 've already got ur reply regarding this unit ,that yes it works even without the guitar plugged into it, but we have to set a key manually as we do in voice live play. I asked about this coz in not a single demo anyone talked about this. So just wanted to see it's performance without guitar.

Is it battery powered? I’m still waiting for tc helicon to make me a battery powered unit for busking. I already have many of your products and don’t see this beating my voicelive 2. I think your harmonies are the most human sounding of the album you are going to make me buy a boss ve 8 so I don’t have to add to my load already. I’m bummed. When will u get on board for us buskers?

Hey Vajrahaha. The Voicelive Play is an older (but very popular) product of ours and it is not battery powered. We have a stompbox that has limited battery-powered functionality, but our more extensive products like this one and the Voicelive 2 are not battery powered and likely will not be battery powered in the near future. Sorry I don't have the answer you'd like to hear but thank you so much for the support you have for our products!
