Mario Kart: Double Dash!! was one of the most popular games for the GameCube, and a large visual upgrade from its N64 predecessor. But what cut content does this game have to offer? Today, we look at what you're not normally allowed to see in the Mario Kart game for the GameCube. Some of the cut content in this game includes a cut mirror mode, early models/textures, and even unfinished tracks! The game files have very interesting secrets, so watch this video to find out what the developers at Nintendo left behind when developing this classic Nintendo GameCube title.

Gamecube Mario games have some of the best appealing art direction in the entire serie. The volcano, the trees, the mountains, the crown, the reverse logo, the clouds, the ice enemies... EVERYTHING HAS A FACE and I love it

One really interesting change that could have been worth mentioning (though it's technically added content, not cut) is that as late as E3 the game still didn't have a mini turbo mechanic. You could slide but not charge a boost.

5:39 Really interesting thing here, the cut clouds from Sherbet Land look an awful lot like Cherbil enemies from Super Paper Mario just without the colored puffs on the bottom. Either it's just a cool coincidence or an unused cloud design inspired another cloud creature in a later game www.mariowiki.com/Cherbil

Wait, I just thought it was just changed to mirror mode. Does it mean you go backwards in the course? That would had been cool. DK mountain would had been interesting seeing how the first part would had been the barrow beige. Can you imagine the start of that race when all the racers are all together?

I was thinking it was a translation error too, because "best rap time" makes no sense. Still funny though! Also I don't think it would have been deemed racist to say it might be a translation error, because it isn't a hateful, demeaning, or mocking statement made towards Japanese people. However, I understand that you wanted to play it safe.

bubby56789 Development for that game actually took 11 years! There’s quite a lot of cut content and its E3 2011 reveal was very different to what’s seen in the final version. It’s on the list now for possible episodes.

Why does Nintendo do this? The moving text was actually something that would have made the game feel more... like a racing game, and it was MORE work to make it stationary because they already had code to make it move, as seen in the demo! And the stars, that would be a nice touch, again they had code for it. And in super paper Mario, this amazing man we are watching right now (so amazing, like the serious SMG4, SMG4 is my favorite tuber who focuses on pure entertainment, and TCCO is my favorite that focuses on Informative Entertainment) showed us that there is an unused happy flower theme, why remove it? If it’s already coded, use it, it won’t (usually) hurt! Maybe the files or some advanced crap like that, Idk.
