The Year 1812, Festival Overture in E flat major, Op. 49, popularly known as the 1812 Overture. It was composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky in 1880 to commemorate Russia's defense of Moscow against Napoleon's advancing Grande Armée at the Battle of Borodino in 1812.

11:48 I can only imagine this in like a movie Napoleon’s troops march through the city of Moscow He enters a large room with his commanders inside with his entrance lined with the first 11:48 Look from his commanders 11:55 All begin talking 12:05 commanders begin to look worried 12:10 Napoleon confused 12:13 back of Napoleons head begins to glow - he notices 12:16 turns around and his face slowly turns to horror 12:24 shot from behind him out the window, Moscow is engulfed in flames 12:31 shows everyone’s reaction last few being soldiers and officers outside the building Music cuts to 14:05 showing more reaction of napoleon 14:23 city shot Moscow burning 14:34 close ups of city burning and destruction

1812 es la obra más épica que he escuchado en la música clásica, no solo por el evento histórico al que hace alusión, sino por la potencia de sus sonidos, la forma en que empieza de un punto suave, tranquilo, hasta llegar a la apoteosis del final. Grande Tchaikovski.

Tchaikovski la odio. "He was never big on huge displays of patriotism. He once even called it “very loud” and “noisy” and thought it lacked artistic merit." Suena muy bien in mi opinion...No es una "Threnody para las victimas de hiroshima". Esa pieza es una caca.
