Hi Deiter, Our units detect the incoming chords and create harmony from a combination of that and your lead vocal note, so there's no need to adjust anything when playing a 1/2 step down. The unit will simply "hear" an Eb instead of an E, for example. Everything will work just the same as it would with standard tuning.

Hi John, the guitar signal passes through the Harmony Singer on the way to the amp. We look at the incoming dry/clean chord information to work out the harmonies and the signal moves right along to your guitar pedals/amp.

Es tremendo, a mi me gusta cantar a dúo o trió, pero cuando hay personas que no siguen la secuencia eso crea un poco de😣 pero con este intrumento es fenomenal me encanta,gracias.
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
Heya Michael, You could do either. It's up to you to tune the guitar itself, so the placement of the tuner only matters if the pedal before it would somehow affect the sound. Harmony Singer doesn't change the guitar sound, so the tuner will "hear" it the same in either setup.
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
Hi Nicky, Yep. The caveat is that the mix of the particular track will determine how well the chord tracking works. The better the unit can "hear" clear chords (root+3rd+5th etc.) the better it will work.

Hi David, I'd think of the H. Singer as an even smaller and simpler G-XT. The sounds are both of the same quality, but there's presets and some other options in the G-XT that the harmony singer doesn't have. It's more intended to chuck down on the floor and get a great harmony whenever you want it, with minimal setup.

Hi Dexter, You can definitely use a wireless mic. Typically, the mic receiver will have an xlr output, which you could run into the Harmony Singer's XLR input. Just watch the gain staging. You'll need to make sure that the signal coming from your receiver doesn't overload the H. Singer's input. You want to see green/yellow LED almost all the time when you sing, but never red.

Hi Dexter, All of our pedals in this form factor offer +24V phantom power. The Rode may require +48. If that's the case, then you'd need an external +48 phantom supply.
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
Hi Jose, No, you need 12V to power the preamp and other electronics in the pedal. That's also why we don't offer battery power...yet.

Very good review. Simply explained and a cool, easy presentation. The unit has quite a few features with not too many buttons and knobs. Can you have separate foot-switch? that way the unit can reached and make changes without bending down to the floor. Parraboy
@tchelicon8 жыл бұрын
+guy douglas We don't have a jack for an external footswitch, but if you're handy with solder I can unofficially suggest that you could replace the footswitch in the unit with a TRS jack and then use a TRS cable to go to an external box with a switch in it. You could even just re-use the switch from the unit and build a small box yourself.... theoretically speaking of course (warranty would be voided)
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
Yep sure can. There's a Mic Control button on the side, just like the Mic Mechanic you have. It'll work with an MP-75 or Sennheiser e 835 fx.
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
When you play a minor chord, the unit analyzes both the chord and the note you're singing to determine the appropriate harmony. That's not to say it works in every sing song every written, but it's pretty great at doing its thing.
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
Hi Hallam, You could run the audio from your keyboard through the Harmony Singer as long as it's got good chordal information in it. If your keyboard has the ability to send 1/2 of the keyboard out one output (I'm thinking left hand for chords) then that would be ideal.
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris!
@rodtompkinsmusic11 жыл бұрын
For a keyboard with MIDI out, you should get the Harmony M for superior MIDI chord tracking, stereo output, more control of harmony and effect settings, and 10 programmable presets. It's not quite as small as this pedal but still quite compact. I use 2 Harmony M units on gids, so the other singer in my band can provide 3 part harmony behind me based on my keyboard playing. Love my TC-Helicon!

Can i plug both mic and acoustic steel string guitar with a soundhole p/u into the same (Ibanez Troubador) acoustic guitar amp?
@tchelicon11 жыл бұрын
Heya Keyboard guys :) You can send keys audio to the Inst IN on the Harmony Singer and have NaturalPlay harmonies that way. Your best bet is to send the most chordal information you can, with no chorus/reverb on the sounds. (That's why we tell guitarists to put the HSinger before any effects.) If you have an output that would only send "left hand" chord stuff, even better.

I just received the unit yesterday and keep in mind, I have an original Harmony G as well. The Harmony Singer was not tracking properly with a drop D tuning song last night and playing a full chord and 3rd below. I am going to sample again tonight and compare against the Harmony G. Also, I find that I have far less headroom with the tone engaged before I get feedback that has to be eq'd out which is counterproductive. Advice?

Great presentation Tom. I have a question though. I love the products, I have both the mic mechanic 2 and the vocal harmony 2. My question is can they be used in tandem? Would I just jump from mic out to mic in from unit to unit? I know VH2 uses guitar to control harmony and the Mic mechanic doesn’t. So if you could suggest how I might use both pedals in a chain? Thanks so much! Tony T.

Hi, I´ll buy a VoiceLive Play GTX or Harmony Singer, but I'm in doubt. I want to use my pedals with my guitar and VoiceLive Play GTX only to my voice. Could this feature "VoiceLive Play GTX listens to the Guitar input to set key automatically" still work to my voice?

Thanx Tom.Great pedal, great demo (and great singer by the way !). I bought a HS and I'll receive it in the next few days.One question about the outputs : you say the output XLR is to be connected to a PA.But i want to make the HS sound thru my guitar amp,with my guitar .I've a amp & effects modeller connected to my amp (Line6 Pod hd Pro) for the guitar.There's an mic XLR input on the Pod. Can I plug the HS into it ? I ask this because I've read the output on the HS is a " XLR line output" and i wondered what the word "line" was meaning ( something to do with "line level" ?)I suppose I can but i'd like to have your advice.Thanx for your answer.Greatings from Paris.
@tchelicon8 жыл бұрын
+Selkirk Rex Yep, you can connect the HS to the mic input on the POD. Your vocals won't sound super great through a non-FRFR guitar amp, since it'll have a fairly non-vocal friendly EQ, but it's certainly possible with the connections you have.

Does the guitar have to go out the Thru? If, like on the Voicelive 2, you want both signals to go out of the Main Out, can you do that with this pedal, or do you have to go Thru?

@tchelicon7 жыл бұрын
Yep, it'll work through any amp, though full range will sound better than a guitar amp style speaker, which tends to have an EQ that's less suited to vocals.

Great little piece of equipment for the vocalist, however it would be helpful if a demo could show how to use a wireless ear monitor system with the Harmony !
@tchelicon9 жыл бұрын
musoman For wireless IEM's, your simplest way to set up would be to use whatever mix you currently do and simply add the Harmony Singer to your signal path on the way to the mixer.
@musoman67549 жыл бұрын
TC-Helicon Hi and thanks for your advice, however, as yet, I do not possess IEm's and I am a little unsure as to how the cable connections would work between the transmitter/receiver and the HS if it was to be included in the mix. Also, is it the case of having to use a mixer?
@krizaldytadiaque43404 жыл бұрын
how can i connect my acoustic guitar effects, using with this harmony singer?
@kiskadar698 ай бұрын
Step 1: Connect the guitar output to the "INST IN" input of the TC-Helicon Harmony 2. Step 2: connect the TC-Helicon Harmony 2 "INST THRU" output to the input of the first guitar effect pedal (if you don't have a guitar effect pedal, connect it to the input of the guitar amplifier). The INST THRU is a buffered bypass and doesn't affect the guitar signal in any way.

Yep absolutely you can use an acoustic guitar. That said, H. Singer doesn't provide processing, so it can't boost the level. We just read the incoming chords and send the signal on its way down the line.

Help ! ... I turned on my T/C Helicon Harmony Singer (Blue Box) and the vocal part doesn't work anymore. The guitar plays through it fine but dead silence on the vocal. The only thing I know wrong is the little mike button on the right is gone, but it fell apart months ago and I'm pretty sure it has worked ok without it (I could be wrong). Inside the T/C where the 'button housing' box is/was, there are only the 6 terminals sticking up. So I have a couple questions; (1) Do I need the mike button for the TC Harmony Singer to work? ... and if so, ... (2) can I jumper across a couple of the 6 terminals to permanently lock it in the 'non-mike' mode ? (I don't even have the controlable mike) ... and if so, ... (3) which terminals do I jumper? Many thanks in advance

Great pedal. I was wondering is it useful when you hook it up with the bass guitar since the bass guitar does not play chords as electric guitar? Because, If you play Am and you want to hear third-up - and you play bass only with the tone A - how can pedal recognize is it sharp or not? thanks
@tchelicon5 жыл бұрын
Hey Eno! The bass won't work to trigger harmonies for the exact reason you just provided! Without a third tone, the pedal won't know to go sharp or natural, etc. For this reason we recommend using Harmony singer with a guitar instead :) Thanks for singing with us!

@tchelicon9 жыл бұрын
John & Roxann Koutzoukis Well, if your guitar sound is still clean in/out of the ditto, it doesn't really matter. If you go Ditto first, you can use the audio from the Ditto to feed key/scale in the Harmony Singer while you're not playing guitar, as long as there's enough chord info in the loop. Could be cool!
