I really want this to be the future of smartphones, still pricey and not mainstream but pretty amazing I liked the quality of the video and I don't mind very much about them microphone, also man you have hair😅

I wish TCL designed those glasses with a removable battery so that it can be replaced on the day it will inevitably die, to make them a really long time investment by considering how the whole world has been struggling financially with inflation for 2 years since Russia invaded Ukraine. A cap on the cable port would also have been welcome to protect it from the rain. Last but not the least : I also wish TCL chose the 2nd gen of the Snapdragon XR2 chip which is already used by the meta quest 3 and consumes 50% less power than the 1st gen included in Rayneo X2.

No, for 3d movies you need a a headset like Meta Quest or similar. They're two different types of devices.

If the next version manages even a 720p display and a 40 degree FOV up from the current 30(apprently) then it'll actually be pretty great for video too, like Netflix and stuff. At that point I'd hope they release a muchh cheaper "dumb" and more compact model where they're just displays and you plug your phone/tablet/laptop or media player into it and it just shows whatever is output onto it. Then if they manage 1080p after that, even if the FOV stays at 40, then that's good enough for office and just all desktop stuff too, at which point someone with a vision pro or other full headset strapped to their face to edit documents would look kind of dumb next to someone wearing "normal" looking glasses doing the same thing. 40 degree FOV is fine because looking at my 27" PC monitor now it's probably around 30 degrees of my FOV, so a 40 degree FOV would be like having a 35" PC monitor 2ft in front of me, or probably a 70" TV at couch distance.

So basically its an AR extension of your phone? It cannot work independently and must be connected to Wifi/Bluetooth to use translator and navigation?

once you setup the device and it has its own connection to the internet with WIFI or BT it runs the search and translations no device processing power is used. at this time it does not have a mobile connection option so that is the need for the device to allow it to work. we might see something like in the future.

I work 12 hour shifts where I'm mostly just walking around & I keep hoping to find some ar glasses to watch edu videos etc but 2.5 hour battery is so much worse than I thought... guess I have to wait a few more years lol

При длительном использовании очков подключаю очки к внешнему аккумулятору 10А/Ч через трехглавый кабель и использую виртуальный диск ЯНДЕКС.ДИСК, установленный на очках, смартфоне, планшете и компьютере. Очень удобно

К сожалению рекламные ролики и реальная эксплуатация - две большие разницы. Я на INMO AIR 2 долго добивался результата переписываясь с разработчиком.

they need to work on the design for sure, but for what they are able to do and how fast the response is on these, I appreciate that it's portable and works.

@TKBay I think it is so easy for people to criticise something that if you stand back is an amazing piece of technology that no one here could come even close to developing. Yes battery life is not massive but at least it is not a brick you have to put in your pocket like a certian other company. People who slate something as amazing as this need to get a life. This is not Sci-fi. Everything can be improved with iteration. The first car did not come with sat nav. Respect to the designers and engineers.

@nicolaspeter1679 agreed, but most of the so-called flaws are really constraints of current technology and, therefore, not flaws but over expectations of a cutting edge idea.
