Y'know. This is one of those 4AM thonks.
It is worth to post this despite the fact it's a fangame? Dunno. SOMEONE will probably find it interesting? If someone already posted this, I blame YT search.
By the way, I also found that you can enable a test mode by using the command line argument "-fartchungusamongus". (Yes, really). Lets you play with some debug menus and find an unused soul mode. Fun stuff.
So, yes. Memes.
EDIT: In version 3, the room is not significantly different. There is an extra Ralsei in it, though. The debug mode access cmd argument no longer works, though.

oh my god i just found this!! crazy to see that the game i assisted developing is getting a TCRF page (probably????) to explain: a lot of the npcs in the first room are using old code, so it's a bit janky (except for the dark noelle which is new) the portals in the second room are unused and a leftover from a previous fangame with the same engine (ATONEMENT) and if i'm going to be honest... i'm not too sure why the blue rabbit takes you to the gameover scene now, it wasn't like that before as you can guess the rest is for testing. thank you for showing this off! this game doesn't have much unused content (and most of it is put in there for jokes) the second test room has a new npc in the latest build i used for testing button prompts on text boxes, if that's something you're interested in

Ah, I dunno if TCRF would allow a page on this. Dunno what the exact criteria are. I just mark videos with unused content as such to keep it consistent. Still, unused content is always fun, so thanks for leaving it in 👍 I also found the debug menu and the cat exception screen, which is excellent. Is the joke with the cat that real Toby fox games error with dogs?

@@Skawo that's okay! i didn't really expect it to anyways, heh and no problem! the only content we ever removed were assets from previous fangames, which don't relate to this one (so people don't get confused ripping the assets and seeing there was a sans battle or something LOL)

At 4:34 when the game mentions the player having earned 150 DT, I'm pretty sure it's a throwback to one of Ryno's previous games, Atonement, where you have to gather determination to escape from hell:)

Holy shit! Last thing I expected was to see a Deltatraveler video here -- I'm the assistant writer on this, really cool to see! :D The smooth UI mode is from another fan-game, TS!Underswap, which I'm the lead dev for. I'd recommend checking it out, since the demo's 1-3 hours long, but I'm a little biased there, haha.

Gotta admit, even though i don´t really like a lot this fangame because it kind of...changes the logic of earthbound if you do a genocide, it has a pretty nice debug room

Well, like Susie says at one point, "no need to hit so hard" - I guess it's trying to say that you're then going specially out of your way to hurt things, while in EB you were just smacking people enough that they "became tame" and whatever. But, yeah, true.

I think the main logic happening in Obliteration is that either the SOUL (or the player) power is strong enough that's able to kinda "break" certain rules in other worlds, and i'm expecting this trend to continue for future sections. Hey, works for me at least.

@@Skawo Yeah that makes sense but what doesn't make sense is how the horn of life didn't fucking work during *THAT* battle. It didn't even make sense for *HER* to even have one so early on in her adventure so the whole problem could have been fixed if she just...didn't have one. Like i do love the game but that was bs.

@@DeltaBlazin I think the idea is it didn't work because it only cures unconsciousness, not straight up death. And yeah, you can't get a Horn of Life until Saturn Valley, but it would've made more sense if she'd tried to use a Cup of Lifenoodles, since they're functionally identical and you can find one in Peaceful Rest Valley.

NOTE: in version 3, you have to do a minor code edit to get test mode (One of the internal names of the debug mode.) working. I havent managed to get the keybinds working (on linux btw) but it still works (oh also for accessing most test mode stuff you have to scroll to a normally unscrollable part of a menu, like below the ITEM or CELL option or below the enemy names in the ACTs)

something i realised an time ago is that one flag triggers multiple stuff like the portals like an example in pacifist only the blue one is enabled and active in frisk mode(you can enable it without creating an new save file it gives you an mini partymember(chara))its disabled(both) in obliteration both are enabled but inactive(cant go through) im still trying to figure out how to enable both without them going inactive, also does anyone know what flag enables frisk mode so i can see what chara does?

Super cool stuff here, thanks for sharing the argument to enable Test Mode. Even if this doesn't get an actual TCRF page it's neat to see the unused stuff. What I found most notable is an unused "mini-party member" (like Paula) labelled as "Chara". Hard to tell if it's meant to be literally the character Chara or just a placeholder (probably the latter, considering if you set "Frisk Mode" to "True" in a non-hardmode save their name will show up as "Chara" in the menu), but their "color" in battle IS green, if that says anything.

The new trailers do show actual Chara being carted around on Kris's shoulders, so possibly they're planned for the next release.

If you're saved at the Snowdin Underfell Box Road, replace level 74 in the resources folder with level 4.

The steps I've done it to do it without having to delete and rename maps: >Hit Windows Key+R to open Run >Hit browse and navigate to your DELTATRAVELER.exe to get the filepath >append "-fartchungusamongus" to the end to enable test mode. >Run the game >Load any save, hit F3 to open Scene Warp and go to "4-OW_TEST"
