An alternate timeline where science is being taken seriously and nations are cooperating with one another instead of fighting?! This seems amazing and so much would get done! If only this was really happening as things are really a mess right now

I love the Star Trek references! Shran was one of my favourite characters in Enterprise and the Andorians are a fascinating species. The realisation that the color scheme of this mission was based on them was very fun. Amazing mission, I’m very excited to see the rest of it!

To borrow some words, Shran’s propulsion module has a frightening quantity of NERVAs. Neutron cross-talk might get a little interesting,* especially for the ones in the middle. *“Interesting” here meaning “prompt-critical.” All that said, so far this looks to have been worth the wait. Very well-filmed and orchestrated, and I most certainly enjoyed the bagpipes. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

Just wanted to say - all those small design choices (like the separation boosters!!!) are amazing, I've never even considered doing that, and now it seems silly not to. Great vid 👍
@TDChannelKSP
@TDChannelKSP 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Separation motors often serve a useful purpose in RO - ullage. In order to keep the propellant stable and safely near the engine instead of floating around, the motors keep the vehicle accelerating during engine ignition. (alternatively, the engines can be hotstaged - igniting the upper stage engines before the first stage has burnt out)

Crewing a mission to Pluto would take hundreds to thousands of years to make possible, not to mention the voyage would take about a decade to get there and a decade to get back. You would be an elderly person by the time you come back home. You also need a duo decade's supply of food, water, and air in order to survive for a duo decade to make this mission possible. Also in order to avoid all that you need an engine with the power that can match up to at least a quarter of that of the speed of light. A round trip to the moon and back takes about a week on normal rocket power. Mars takes about a year and a half.
