Hello there, in today's video I will be comparing TDU 1 & TDU 2 with 10 different topics that I find really interesting, no one has really done a video like this so I decided to do it, everything said in this video is just made for entertainment purposes only and whatever I say is just personal preferences, you don't have to agree with what I say, I do not mean to harass any TDU 1 or TDU 2 fans. Please do not blast me in the comments section for everything that I said, this video was made for entertainment purposes only and whatever I say is just my thoughts, I've played both TDU 1 & TDU 2 for quite a long time now + if I repeated or said some stuff that didn't make sense, forgive me, I was really tired when editing the other half of the video & sorry for the horrible grammar, you can't use Grammarly in Filmora can you?

If TDU 2 had better physics it would be way way better than the first one. Too bad no one has made a mod to fix that handling. 😭

Have you tried the CTR mod? I'm currently using it and it seems to improve the physics/handling a lot. However I have not played TDU1 yet so I cannot compare it to that

TDU 2 have some good things but mostly for me was lacking the most important thing, a cool driving physics, just for that it's far away from TDU that has one of the best arcade racing handlings of all

Fun fact : the graphic engine is the same for TDU 1 & TDU 2 but the developers have improved it during the 4 years development according to a manager of the project. So it was possible to obtain a Day/Night cycle for the first TDU theorically.

For me, I like a lot of the improvements TDU2 did, like being able to walk around your houses and garages, day/night cycle, and some other things. However, TDU1 just... *feels* better overall and I don't think it's nostalgia since I played both at relatively the same time frame. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the overall feeling of the game is just better in TDU1. The music choice was definitely better in TDU1 in my opinion however.

as soon as I saw that there is no hardcore mode in tdu 2, then immediately the desire to play it disappeared and there was a desire to replay in tdu1

TDU has one as well. You find it in the settings under Game Settings and it's called "Driving aid". You can set it to "hardcore".

I love TDU 1 Have drive 27.000km in more then 350hrs. Bought the game already for the 3rd time and is the one and only reason I still own a XBOX 360. When I moved to the UK, my XBOX came with me, same as when I moved to Brazil. Why...? Only to play TDU 1... I love to drive around, to play some races and to spent time on Oahu. Since I play this game in 2008 I have the dream to move drive on Hawaii, and this is still one of my goals. Played TDU2, but for me it's not that cool as TDU1. It are the races, gameplay en graphics. O... and yes, the playlist of TDU1 is the best!

11. TDU 1 has Motorcycles as part of the Base game. Have to find all the Car Dealers to unlock the bike dealers.

I like how at 11:50 he says you don’t get rewards for cop chases but then a present icon shows up right after! I know that you don’t actually get rewards for police chases but I just thought the timing was funny!

I quite liked the lack of story in TDU 1. I liked being a drifter, making their way through driving and racing. I care not for the waffle of the TDU 2's characters.

I really like it the story, is something different, is a bit entertaining, and is not like there's too much of it. You can see more of your custom character aswell and that's cool.

To be honest, in my perspective, TDU2 ai are sometimes glitch especially in Hawaii: Most commonly, they go on the wrong side of the road

The physics in Tdu2 were a huge deal breaker for me, one of the worst physics i have ever seen in a driving game, if not a game in general.. and for a game that its main focus is cars its unacceptable. TDU1 is far more polished in general, the driving is far better and the atmosphere in hawaii is phenomenal, it feels like it should be, a tropical oasis, where in tdu2 that feeling is gone, mainly i think its because of the fact that the map its a straight port from the first one, they didnt pay the attention they should. The music selection in 2 is laughably bad compared to the first one aswell. Its been 15 years and now since both of these two games are graphicaly outdated and i cant be biased about that, i would replay TDU1 in a heartbeat, cant say the same thing about the second though, maybe if there was a remaster.

TDU 1 Platinum rules. And was just updated last July 22, now on version 1.21. More cars were added from the already 800+ cars.

There are AI, Physics and visual mods for TDU1 that you can even tweak at your will, and because of that I'm still playing TDU1 nowadays 👍

If only it haven't made the game buggier, I would sure enjoy it. Tried it about two years ago, game was crashing way too much and also introduced me to the glich that removed the roads/the surface.

What makes me prefer TDU2 compared to its predecessor is the lighting at night. The cars cannot have their lights on in TDU1 and its scary dark for me in certain areas at night. So I prefer driving in TDU2. At night there are lights from the cars, at the very least.

I know this video is old and arguing about a 10 year old game whether about it was good or not is dumb, but I'd like to point out some stuff. Like the car sounds: In TDU2 they just suck, they were kinda accurate I guess? But they had this weird sfx that sounded like autotune which ruined them entirely. TDU1 weren't too good either but at least they were realistic. Also the content: TDU2 had more content than TDU1, but at the same time it didn't. For example: All the casinos and online game modes that are now useless bc of the closed servers, and the cars which a lot of them are missing: No Lamborghini, Maserati, BMW, or Rolls Royce. It also bothers me that your character has more customization options than the cars itself, like it doesn't make any sense, it's a racing game, not The Sims I know a lot of this stuff can be fixed with mods (except for the online which is still in progress) but that doesn't take out the fact that TDU2 didn't had Hardcore mode, so that's why I think TDU1 is better

When mentioning soundtrack first TDU wins - with the help of Sony versions. PS2/PSP ports compansate for the lack of some content (and worse engine/exhaust noises) with expanded score. The cops are also handled better - can be triggered while driving too fast, but easier to escape from chase which makes the experience more pleasant.

I like TDU 2 more because it supports my Xbox gamepad via bluetooth, tdu 1 only works by wire, and you also need to bind the control yourself

1 and 2 is different experience,one is for racing experience and one is for fun driving experience

@@ahmadrafi8087 the championships after A5 are super long and drawn out, and when playing with hardcore (or even sport) driving mode the physics put you down. But driving casually down the Hawaii highway, which is the best highway in any game that I've played, you can top speed with the roof down, windows down, and radio playing. That's for driving experience and not racing

IMO TDU2 was not made to be a racing game. The cars are slower, the physics are horrible, and the police are relentless. It may be a good game to cruise in but for me it’s just not a good racing game

The "player" AI in TDU2 free drive intentionally crash into you and it's got my blood boiling. It ruins a level 5 FRIM

It has 'Hardcore' mode for traction control but not for physics.

The hardcore and sport drive modes feel the same. Sport mode "partially disables" driving aids, but it feels like none at all,which hardcore disbales them fully. No TC or ABS with either and the car instantly spins out

@@user-qp9pu1xi4k In some cars you're right, it feels like there's little difference but in others like the 458 or Cinque it's more noticeable. You can adjust the throttle, brakes & steering sensitivity in the options though. Which reduces those issues somewhat. It's just that they're buried in a couple of sub-menus so a lot of people are stuck with the default & hate it.
