Dude, for $500-$1000 you can put a powerful solar setup on that and always have electric heat and use the battery power to power appliance of some kind as well.

If its like most RV's those lights inside are 12v and the fridge likely has the option of running on propane, AC or DC.

Looks nice Adam. I grew up camping with an RV almost every weekend of my youth. I'm sure I'm not alone in my experience. Feel free to ask out loud if you have any questions and someone is bound to answer. You've just joined one of the friendliest groups of people going. When staying at campgrounds, socialize and let other RV owners know you're new, and are looking for stories of their experiences. You never know what you'll learn. You will come across all sorts of professions from retirees to engineers, lawyers, judges, small business owners etc. Only once did we come across gypsies. (Boy was that campground owner mad when the family drove off in the middle of the night without paying their bill. LOL.) A few tips: - Always level your vehicle with blocks when stopping overnight. - Walmart almost always allows RVs to park overnight (and chances are you won't need to level). - Most campgrounds will sell propane and provide a dumping station to those who stay overnight. - Put away, or at least tilt, one side of your awning down a few clicks when you leave it in case it rains. - The awning is much safer from wind when the braces are left attached to the side of the vehicle. - Get up on the roof and add a little extra sealant around your AC and vents. It's worth the effort now than to repair leaks and a ruined ceiling. - And, uh, your "couch" is not a couch, LOL. It's meant for a child or small adult to sleep on. I wouldn't count on it holding up to an adult sitting on it often.

One more tip: Buy a few laundry baskets that will fit in the cupboard areas under the bed and seating areas. They make it so much easier to store and retrieve items from those little, dark caves without having to stand on your head.

There are apps and website that show free and low cost places to stop overnight so you're not spending alot of money at RV parks. Also you can add solar and a battery pack so you can do your thing without needing to be plugged into shore power or run the generator. Look into a Buddy Heater to warm the RV up when it gets cold. Lots of RV videos and channels out there to gather additional information about full time RV living.

If you haven't already, dip your feet into a couple of the big RV forums to get recommendations on customizations. I can't recall all of mine in the 4 months I lived in a rather similar unit, but a couple of the major ones I'd consider: 1. an inline water filter for when you fill your fresh water tanks 2. reflective bubble wrap to stick between your windows and shades... helps alot in both hot and cold weather. 3. If you intend to spend time in cold weather, get someone with an IR camera to look at where your main heat loss points are. Unfortunately, it would take a massive amount of work to fix them. I spent a couple thousand trying to address those and only got so far. But I doubt u'll be chasing ski hills so probably not an issue. 4. Get a little electric space heater so you can use that instead of your furnace whenever you have shore power. Propane can get expensive, and the furnace tends to be pretty loud too. 5. If you want data when you'r not in major population centers, consider a 3W cell booster with a nice big antenna. Only helps so much though. 6. Since the included mattresses kinda suck, get a nice topper. That was by far my single biggest improvement. But you'll have to chop it down of course. 7. (if it doesn't already have it) LED bulbs for the interior light. Conserving power is kinda important. 8. When you replace the batteries, 2x 6V golf cart batteries in series is supposed to be better than 2x 12V deep cycles. And less expensive too. 9. If you don't expect to be on shore power much, worth getting more solar. Probably lots more that I'm forgetting. Good luck! I absolutely loved living in an RV. Hope you love it too.

Congrats on the new RV, Adam! As someone who took long vacations in an RV, always remember two things: remember the height of the vehicle (you don't want to get it wedged under a low bridge), and make sure to dump your waste water properly and often. Good luck, and enjoy your journeys!

Awesomeness! Love the name of the RV too! Totally works! Make sure you check out RV vids on tank maintenance. I watched a simple trick on draining the water pipes when you're in freezing temps so the pipes don't freeze and crack. And don't be afraid to use the toilet (#1) to help break up the material in the tank. Also, emptying tanks can be faster than you think if you know how to do them the right way. Nomadic Fanatic on youtube has some good ideas.

The only Disney Campground I know of is Disney's Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. Well it was called that back when there was only the Magic Kingdom. Back when you needed tickets to get on the rides. Now the place is called Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort an Campgrounds. I think he would enjoy the place since it does feel like you are miles away from anything. But just a short bus or ferry ride and you are at one of Disney's Theme parks.

A couple of tips: When you have the dinette down, don't sit on the edge of the table (really, don't sit on it at all). It can hold weight for use as a bed, but if you put enough pressure in the middle of it near the edge it will break. This happened in our RV. Tip #2: If you're planning on living in this fulltime and travelling around America, consider a Thousand Trails pass. You can buy them by the year and area. It entitles you go camp every other week for the entire year for the price of the pass so long as you travel to different places. There are other memberships (ROD comes to mind) but they can't be bought by the year and I don't think they'd work out for you as you end up trapped in them. But Thousand Trails you just buy for one year and after that, you're done with it (if you tell them not to renew). All these schemes have limited campgrounds so you'll have to have a good look to see if it works. AOR is another one. Also useful is Passport America, but beware that their cheap rates are usually only for one or two nights. Remember that if you go anywhere cold the water can and will freeze. This can be really expensive to fix. If you winterize you won't have water, which means you won't live in the RV... So get your visiting up North done in the summer! And, of course, even cheaper is to just boondock everywhere. You'll figure where you can do that pretty fast, I think. Good luck! RVing is fun. But, as you have noticed already, RVs are built out of crap so be prepared to fix stuff. A lot. At least parts are cheap (compared to a house). Be handy because most places will take months to see your RV. Mobile RV repairmen are faster. :)

Goo Gone will take off the adhesive residue. More batteries and a solar system will give you more options if you plan on going off grid. Nomadic Fanatic has instructive videos on all of that plus the infrastructure to support living off grid (and remote internet access as well) as RV parks can rival motels for daily costs just for a electrical hookup and a dump tank. Ge covers all of the daily RV life stuff pretty well.

Adam If you spray furniture polish, on the sticky label residue, leave it for a bit (10 - 15 minutes maybe more) it will become slushy and can be wiped away with a dry cloth. Just apply it until it's all gone. Alternatively, the spray cleaner for eye glasses can work too and you can use what's left to clean your computer screen and phone - not forgetting those sun glasses!

Jeanne No it isn't. A person is paying for content. If that content is it produced, he doesn't get the money. Unlike Eric Jacobs and the thousands he took for a documentary he never made.

Keep up on your services. The Ford gasoline V8's I.e. 5.4l can be finicky. Make sure you keep up on your oil changes and recommended PM schedules. It's pretty critical. Watch some tutorials and learn to do at least the oil yourself. It will save you money and heartache. Keep up on that or you will regret the results. I'm an ASE certified diesel tech and fleet manager of mostly Ford vehicles. Good luck and congrats!

TJ TRENT would have been better to have the powerstroke for torque and fuel efficiency plus reliability but would have made the rv quite abit more pricy he probably got a great deal because of it being a gas setup it's a nice rv though.
