I bought the game based on this map alone (though I intend to try them all) simply because I'm in NZ. I've been pig hunting before when I was much younger (we hunted for food, not for trophies) and its amazing how close this map is to actually hunting in some regions in NZ.

Pigs are pests here mate. Killing them is saving our wildlife. No need to clarify hunting them.

I have gone back to carrying the 243 for the chamois and goats and I have not carried that since I put it down when I bought the 270, a gun I still carry, on my 1st day in the game over 2 years ago.

There are turkey need zones on the east side of the river you hunted for feral goats. I stumbled across drink, feed and rest zones working from the south traveling north to northeast towards the cabin that is south of the cave. I found the Turkeys were drinking while the goats were.

Thanks for the video! Also early this week I was hunting on Vurhonga and shot this big gold springbok (Gold are really exciting to get as I've never got a Diamond before even after playing the game for more than a year) I was going to collect it and I took a photo and the turned around because I heard another animal and bam my game crashed and I lost that springbok.

That’s funny that is my fav spot for goat. You spawn at the outpost and there is tons out there. Easy money and diamonds.

I have never had these problems the 7.62 is just soft points witch is why the pen is so low but I still use it on low level fallow and sika

Why would you carry a first aid kit on a map where this isn't a single dangerous game animal? I was really disappointed to not have water buffalo on this map or Sambar deer. Both are found in nearby Australia, so perhaps they were excluded for a future Australia map, but still.

I know this comment is a year old, but I think the devs were going for realism. Having those animals portrayed as being here in NZ wouldn't be realistic. And anybody who thinks we don't have dangerous game animals hasn't been charged at or had their dog killed by a NZ feral pig IRL (they do charge at you in the game too, but they seem a little less aggressive than real life). Even the moose that appears in the storyline is purely fictional, though the story about how moose once got into NZ is actually true (but they are just a rural legend now, as common as 'bigfoot', lol).

It's actually quite realistic in that regard. NZ game tends to spread out IRL, especially in places where there've been Hollywood movies filmed (like Lord of the Rings). They're annoying as hell, haha
