Sir,njan statistics പഠിച്ചിട്ട് ഇതൊന്നും എനിക്ക് മനസ്സിലായിട്ടില്ല, ചുമ്മാ റോബോട്ടിക് ആയിട്ട് ഉത്തരം കണ്ടുപിടിക്കും.... ഈ ഒരൊറ്റ വീഡിയോ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ മൊത്തത്തിൽ ഒരു clarity vannu... 1. How can standard deviation be 50 for an average of 45.3 and indicate considerable variation since it means the marks can be less than zero for some students? 2. Deviation of 5 does not mean that the marks of all students are within 40 and 50, the maximum and minimum can be outside this range. 3. Standard deviation is not the average of differences with the mean value, as the negative and positive differences can cancel out. Kindly use sentences and definitions precisely or do the necessary corrections before uploading.

@@VaisakhanThampi These problems are not related to the level of rigor of the topic, but rather to logical inconsistencies. Regardless of the level of rigor of the presentation, the error will remain the same as long as you use the number '50' instead of a suitable lower number in the first problem I mentioned and the phrase 'all students' instead of 'most of the students' in the second problem. In the third problem, the definition of standard deviation is oversimplified to the extent that it is incorrect, considering that the correct definition is studied right from high school level mathematics courses and does not involve any complicated mathematical operations other than division, squaring, square root, and addition. Therefore, the correct definition should be well-received even in a popular presentation, for which I assume most of the viewers have completed high school-level education. In short, regardless of the level of rigor or the targeted audience, logical inconsistencies in a presentation should not be justified, simply as 1 + 2 = 3, not 4, remains valid at any level of rigor. These problems can naturally occur to any presenter during a spontaneous presentation, but they can be easily identified and corrected during post-processing, as it is not a video recording from a stage presentation. My comment was only aimed at making you aware of the need for a more careful post-recording review of your videos. But your unwillingness to accept these simple errors, instead justifying them based on the level of rigor, suggests that there is a more deep-rooted issue and raises questions about your scientific temper and openness.

5% ഒരു ചെറിയ വാല്യു ആണ്. സോഷ്യൽ സയൻസിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിലാണ് അത് കൂടുതൽ പ്രസക്തമാകുന്നത്. നാച്ചുറൽ സയൻസിൽ p value എന്നൊന്ന് എടുത്ത് പറഞ്ഞില്ലെങ്കിലും തെളിവ് valid ആകാനുള്ള സാധ്യതകളുണ്ട്.

Standard deviation is not calculated by simply subtracting mean by each data point. What you mentioned as deviation is actually more of variance (need to actually square the values to get the variance). Standard deviation is the square root of variance. Also you are using the term sample but you are actually talking about population standard deviation. Both are different technically. Overall good video for those who don’t know. It’s better to have a drawing to show how it all works. Otherwise layman will not understand.
