I totally enjoyed this video. I usually mute videos with a lot of talking but Susan stuck a cord in not only the art she was creating but what she said touched my heart and made me feel better about being me. Knowing that I am not alone in my odd little world is wonderfully comforting.

Thank you for sharing your thought process and where you are on your journey. I have been called Polly Anna several times in my life and it wasn’t in an uplifting way. Once it was by a doctor I worked with and respected. I asked why did you call me that? He said your always find the bright side of everything, always happy, caring. Would you like me to be like everyone else? They do not seem to be happier, excepting, an explorer. I personally like who I am and how I interact with everyone. He smiled and agreed that I am better for it.. If you are a Polly Anna OWN it. Thank you for sharing and listening. Beverly

Ok, now that I sent you a video on a tea bag book, I can leave my own comment. First off, thank you for your videos and fantastic commentary. Yes, there ARE MANY of us experimenters out here, that think just like you do. I just found your channel today with your video on alcohol staining plastic and adding dried plant flowers & leaves. AND, went on from there. BTW, I think they came out beautiful. I totally agree with your opinions. And I'm Positive Pollyanna TOO!!! I watched several videos. Then I just worked on some art stuff of my own, only listening to you. I didn't want to be distracted by the video. You have a calming, rather mesmerizing voice. And I loved listening to all you said. Currently, I'm experimenting with paper dyeing, painting, and anything else that adds color and texture to paper. All new to me. Working on my 1st junk journal. Anyway,...just wanted you to know. And that you are very much appreciated. Austin, TX USA

These are really lovely Susan. As I said in my comment to Penelope you inspired me to save my Macca's tea bag while I was waiting for my car. Also leaves seem to be presenting themselves to me in carparks this morning! tfs xoxo

I really needed this talk. Thank you Susan. I started hitting myself over the head again that I’m not good enough. I am too serious about it all - prices going up, climate change, pandemics, can’t afford an electric car or gas… - let’s play. Let’s all de-stress with play.

Thank you SO much for reminding me of why I am crafting. I have been so stressed about the crisis in the world and my little country. And the economy and only focusing on create too sell and I couldn’t make anything. But after I have meditated and seeing your video I now remember why I create....have fun, relaxing, and just be creative. I have for so long time not getting anything done. I start many projects but stop because I can’t seems to take a decision or I get bored or just see something I just have to do now! 🤣 I don’t have a lot of space so to many unfinished projects is very frustrating. I also have boxes of finished tags, cards etc etc that only miss a journal. But yes I get very frustrated with all this half done projects but with a diagnosis ADHD I am used to having halfway done projects in my hole house 🤣 that is just me..😉 But you have helped me more than you know and I can now see what I could do instead of watching one video after the next for getting a project to follow. But I have a lot of ideas I just have to give my self the time to play and have fun. Nothing more than that 🙏❤️ This teabags is so lovely I have to try to make some 🤣🤣..I just have to 🤣😂 A huge thanks and stay safe ❤️🙂 Tina 🙂 👩🏻‍🎨 💜

Susan, I just love what you talk about on these shorter vides. Haven't tuned into the longer streams yet. I adore your projects with Mum Nature, as well as your verbal topics! Thinking back to the 1960's, I SO wish you could have been my elementary school art teacher and talked about similar things. Or even a Junior High or High School teacher. We all could have really used this sage advice. Your videos are so amazing and unusual from the norm I usually see. I'm just loving them! Keep up the stunning art work and the mind blowing brain chats! So happy I found you on here.

I made a journal cover out of tea bags - it is cool. I always worry that the leaves will crumble over time. I sometimes take my watercolors and cut it up or make punched out circles of parts I really like. I use them in collages.

I love watching your process. You are so right about wanting to feel seen. It can be really hard to keep going making and posting KZfaq videos when you feel like no one is watching or commenting. I decided to be working on unfinished projects this year. I have so many! I am also working on organizing my work space since currently There are avalanches happening when I walk through the craft room! The problem is, I NEED to create, but, I HAVE to clear things out. I need to find the balance between cleaning and creating because I need both to happen. It’s really hard for me to come up with something to keep things organized. I feel like I need to have some sort of a system set up so I can do little things every day to keep things up so it doesn’t reach the avalanche stage. I’m sure that was a little TMI (too much information) but you did ask 😉. Thank you for sharing and encouraging others to pursue their art. It means a lot.

I use milk in my tea and still save them. The tea bag paper is stained after dried, so could always be rinse as well. They are a fairly strong paper.

Penelope, I was watching the beginning of this while waiting at McDonnalds for my car to be fixed and of course I just had to save the teabag (english breakfast). It is easily as large as the ones Susan is using. And it unfolded really easily with hardly any tearing (only a little along the edge that had the string in, which was also easy to remove. Definitely bigger than my usual brand. Hope this helps. xoxo

Hi Susan, your branches are lovely, are they not called clusters or fascicles or something like that. As you were talking all I can think of is your new best friend, hahaha, my sister. She is a nature nut and as am I, but not like her. But you sound like her a bit. I love fennel too....in my food hahahaha. Your doing great with creating the tea leaves... great inserts in a journal for sure.

I lurveee these. I'm definitely going to play with this 😁 I normally finish things as I do like that feeling of completing but I do have quite a lot of unfinished too normally it's when I've ran out of steam or I'm not ready to move on as I want to develop somewhere before I finish or because I'm just bored haha I don't feel bad but I don't like having them as I only have a small space.

@@SusanTaylorBrown I think sometimes we've mentally moved on before the project either we've thought of something better, maybe the project was never meant to be finished we just needed it to jump start something in us or we just aren't ready to complete I don't think we don't finish just because we can't be bothered - this is why I don't feel bad 😁 looking forward to watching it 🌿

Why are you not diluting your Matte medium before you use it? Helps avoid plastic look, which can be from medium being too thick. Diluted, the medium would also be a little easier to brush onto more delicate leaves and not disturb their shapes. Question and mix of opinion in this I guess.

Hi Susan, how do you store your pressed flowers. Do you keep them inside the books or do you have a special way to store them? I for most part leave them inside the books but then when I need to press more flowers, I can't because my books are full of passed dried foliage. Lol! I take some and put them gently in a hard plastic container. I'm just wondering how you store them when you're not using them. Love this idea. I too love to decoupage them on paper and make cards for my family. It's been a long while since I've done anything with my pressed flowers. Thank you for the inspiration. Blessings
