@@m-419 no, I keep sufficient air flow over it and after the color sets, you can sterilize it with boiling water and it loses very little color

It's not for spilling although you can use it for that. It's for the gongfu style of tea and it's drinking practice.

It’s heavy, I think it’s close to 5 kg, 11 pounds. Not so heavy it’s hard to move, but it’s not light. I did research though, including the packaging and protective foam, it should only cost about $20 to ship anywhere in the USA though maybe a tiny bit more depending if you are in California or the West Coast.

I just received my blue stone table from Jesse’s shop. Smudge, my 14 lb dog, is heavier than the table. The table fits comfortably on an extra large TV tray (got mine from Walmart). I think Jesse said that this table will be back in stock but it’s shipped by boat from China.

I’m kinda talking out of my ass here, but I think it’s part of a kind of ritual they do to bless the tea? I’ve seen him do it a few times but I could be very very wrong! But I definitely agree with you mr friend!

First cup is garbage so you give it to the little dudeon the table

in gongfu style tea, you rinse the tea leaves first and dump the water out onto the table since it doesn't taste that good. The leaves will open up for subsequent steeps which you'll drink. The reason people do gongfu style is because it suits high quality tea that can be steeped multiple times (like 5-10 times) and it tastes better and better with every steep. The table isn't necessary, it's just a nice thing to have for the ritual and fun of it. You can pour out stuff easily, and you also don't have to be as careful since if you spill something, it just ends up in the tray. Easiest way to start is to buy a gaiwan (very cheap), some high quality loose leaf tea (i recommend an oolong), then look up a guide on how to brew gongfu :)

It's not for spilling tea it's part of the traditional ceremony to rinse the leaves first before serving.

When I got my first apartment in Beijing, literally the first day I went out and got a tea table, it definitely made me feel like I had my own place

You can buy slim trash can then drill a hole to attach the hose and it will collect the left over tea and water just the same

Tea is definitely healthier! Definitely healthier than alcohol, coffee has health benefits to, but I think a lot of people find it a little bit too intense. Tea is excellent and if you speak Cantonese, I am sure you’ve had some great Tea!

P.s.s obviously those provinces don't speak Cantonese.. didn't want to seem as if I believed that. I know a little mandarin but I am learning. So many dialects over mainland China its hard. I should have definitely learned mandarin first.😪😅

Sure, I can do a video in the future, those are really simple, you just take the top off and dump the tray bottom And wipe off the top. They’re not Amazon cheap but the quality is good and something of that quality isn’t going to be available at that price anywhere else

Thanks! All of my teas come with cards with suggested steep times for a 250 mL pot, start with those, but feel free to adjust according to your personal taste, those are just starting points!

It's gongfu style tea. You do not need a drainage system to drink gongfu style tea that is more for the traditional culture around it. You can just infuse it as you would bagged tea if that's what you want.

It’s a style of chinese teamaking called Gongfu tea :) I have hundreds of shorts on my channel about it take a watch :)

I believe he has a website where he sells both tea and many of the different pieces used to brew in the style he does so if you go to his profile you'll likely be able to find it and find something on there

It has a screw to cover the hole, so you could do that, but usually people prefer to use the tube

It’s awkward to lift and pour the water out. I would be afraid of dropping it. The drain is the way to go.

@@littlejackalo5326 It's for gongfu tea ceremonies. It's common to pour out the first steep in gongfu style brewing. These types of tables are convenient to have but not necessary.

A bucket located beneath the table which you will need to empty when it gets full. It usually holds more than the stone table/tray.

@@Gunga_FAB.50 The tea pets absorb some of the tea and the rest evaporates. There's no smell.

This isn’t a problem, I don’t know chemically why, but I’ve been around Chinese tea stuff for a dozen years, and I’ve never had any bad smell. If you dump the leaves into a bucket and leave the bucket, the leaves might start smelling, but the tea itself as a liquid doesn’t really smell after it dries.
