But the tape mechanism isn't good enough!!, like those from back the 80's and early 90's. They have to improve that a lot.

JVC made a dual tape deck with a left-right adjustment for recording and a mic input for either dubbing your voice onto tape or use it as just to talk like a DJ through speakers without playing anything. Awesome

Great about this is the fact that you can record LINE-IN (Source) To MP3 in Realtime from Radio or Satellite. The rest is just manageable through a PC. I recently bought a tiny Chinese MP3 board to playback from or to Record to. Can connect MicroSD and USB stick. Has a great display with Meta data and backlight. 128Kbps and in stereo. Basically you can do everything through Bluetooth wirelessly. It is very low powered and has great sound.

How old is this unit? It has Dolby NR, it must be from the early 2000s.

Bought a new TEAC AD-RW900-B CD Recorder and Auto-Reverse Cassette Deck with USB, 3 1/2 years ago. It replaced a Sony dual-cassette recorder/player (which broke), I originally had on my Sony rack system. Had intentions of copying the few cassettes I had left to CD. However, I lost motivation to do this, as any of the cassette music I had, can now be easily found on KZfaq. Anyway, I haven't used this piece at all! Actually, I haven't used the rack either, for 2 or 3 years! So, have decided to put the TEAC on Craigslist (Craigslist because I don't want to find a box and ship somewhere if I sold on ebay). Any ideas what $$ this is worth? In fact, the whole rack is just taking up space now (sad). So I may just list everything, while I'm at it.

I just realized this is a TEAC sponsored tutorial video. Thanks, was easy to follow though in reading the comments below there are issues that you can easily address, allowing them to use this multi-recorder too. I would like to see a follow-up to this video, showing a "preferences" card with all the types of recordings in some sort of "order" based on highest quality / least sound degradation on down. Most of us can assume going from CD to Cassette will not enhance the listening experience. These methods of transfer may just be for convenience sake, right? In other words, it may be better to first download our audio files into audio production software such as Pro Tools or Audacity, so we can clean up the sound, select a file format, IE .wav, mp3, .mp4, ,aac, etc. and then store those audio files on a Memory Stick, Cassette or CD. Is it therefore better to use the optical cord to download or a USB cord? Lots of questions!

I have question about the TEAC Ad-800 Cd Player recorder and the TEAC Ad-850 recorder, I notice the TEAC Ad-850 CD Player recorder has a mic feature, can I still use that same jack for headphone when listing to music though headphones? The mic jack on the model TEAC Ad-850 CD Player recorder, can I still use that same jack to connect to the jack when listing to music through headphones, thank you?

Won't record USB. I pulled a flash drive from USB port while in "record/pause" mode - now unit goes from "record prepare" directly to "record finished". Can unit be reset?

If you put a flash drive inside of it, and you play the music that's on the Flash Drive.Can you make a cd with the Flash Drive ??

It means that the blank CD that you are using is not compatible with being used to record with the CD drive, try another brand of disc.

This would use one of those cables that you'd normally get for your printer, at least it looks like that.

AD-W900 can only play CDs, not to record them..

The RW can record onto rewritrables, the other model in the range just CDR, other than that both are the same

No. You'd have to have a Pre-Amp Mic (Interface) for that.... It does not have standard (mono) 1/4 inch or XLR inputs.

You don't say , can it record music on the usb to cd disc, yes music on a usb to be recorded to the cd. many thanks , just cd gives better sound then usb . Regards Simon

+sye tomson Before anything, I just wanted to say that i have GREAT respect for the TEAC brand. I have RTR's as well as quite a few other audio components from them....Just watched the first few seconds and I am shocked at the cheap, low-quality RCA analog connections on the rear of the unit. (Red & White) (in/out/phono). They were just crimped around the plastic "insulator" and left a noticeable gap rather than manufacturing it with a solid piece. I haven't seem it done this way since the early 1970's...........BAD MOVE TEAC!!!!!!!!!!

I think of MP3 format copyrights being expired . You have to pay a fee to download MP3 to record to usb now.

Because its crap, just look at its specs, 3 mins to rewind a tape, no dolby for recording or 3 head, plastic construction and terrible snr, and its autoreverse which is the worst way of recording tape because of constant azimuth alignment issues.

because it was replaced by other models which are worse and worse. Unfortunately Dolby laboratories did not relaease the licence for NR, they are not used in current decks. Machanics of the decks are made by chinese supplier (Renkforce TP-1000, Auna, Teac share the same cassette chassis!), quality goes down as less and less people are interested in cassette recordings. So there is no will to offer something decent. And USB recording to mp3 in 128 kbps with machines like this? WTF?..

Sport Odevy Hey Sport, do you think you could tell me what was a couple of the last really good single cassette Decks that included Dolby B, C hx-pro and maybe even S that are somewhat affordable and not super high-end? I'm trying to find something that was made towards the end of cassette decks being manufactured but yet still has a good quality sound with Dolby and good Construction. Feel free to use technical terms as I've been researching this for over a year. Thanks a lot :-)
