This story really touched my heart! I've been in 14 foster homes. The first 13 were foster parents from Hell where I was beaten, abused, starved, had to fight off pedophile foster fathers in 2 of them, was introduced to drugs and alcohol in them. My 14th foster mother came into my life and promised to never give up on me. She loved me as her own! 46 Years later she's still a very big part of my life and the only woman I call "My Mother"! I went down some dark roads during that part of my life. I'd hate to think what would have become of me had had this woman not come into my life and became my Mother! I thank God he Blessed me with her!!!!! I feel the same way about this young man. He's no criminal type! He does not need to be in the "Government System"! All he needed was love and a stable home! God Bless this teacher a million times for being there for him! Most of you don't know the "Government System" like I do. But I can tell you for a fact she came into this young mans life at a point where things were going to get worse for him! She made the difference in his life! May they both have a mutually Blessed life!!!!

As someone who went to the alt school, I cannot begin to describe how caring the teachers there truly are. They know you, they know your habits, your friends, they learn about your family and home life. There were girls who were pregnant and girls that had babies and toddlers, and the babies and kids were just as big of a part of it as any of us, probably more. Some of these kids never had anyone that cared. At the alt school, it was different. The staff go the extra mile to make sure we were all receiving teaching, care, guidance, and treated us like human beings. It was a world away from public school, and the alt school taught me you don't have to live in a box that society dictates for you. So thankful for my time there and so thankful for my teachers and principal there-and teachers like her.
