Hey y'all! Welcome or welcome back! As you all know I have been applying for different teaching jobs and this time two schools called me back for an interview. I am very excited and NERVOUS as you might know this is 6 years after graduation. I was finally offered my first teaching job, and there was a lot to do.
In this video, I started moving the tables and desks to have a good classroom flow and started thinking about my centers. I don’t have a closet so I bright some extra storage from home. I created my library, I created a space for my assistant teacher, I placed my small group desk closest to the door and I’m waiting for my class rug to get clean by a professional company.
I was going back and forth about a cool down area or writing area but I think I have decided on a cool down area. This is exciting and nerve wrecking. How’s life?

Hi. I just found your channel. Congratulations on your first year. Here’s a tip with setting up your classroom. There should be no blind spots. You should be able to see your students from every angle. Watching your setup I noticed you have 2. Your teacher small group table and the library. The tall cabinet is blocking it from the small group table and the tall book shelf in the library. Switch the two bookshelves in the library so the tall one is against the wall and the short one as a divider. More the cabinet to the left and your table to the right. Hope this helps. I hope that other colleagues at your site will be able to offer advice regarding what to post on your walls. Your classroom will come together in time, so please don't be stressed if you do not have the financial means at the moment to add more to your room. When I first started teaching back in 1992, I had only $72 to my name. Be there to give your students the emotional and academic support to grow over the year. I will be in my 32nd year of teaching elementary school in August, and I wish you all the best. Take care.

Wow! 32 years is amazing! Thank you for the advice. I’m not stressing the things I want at all. I’m learning a lot online but I’m waiting to connect with the other kindergarten teachers. I have my questions locked and loaded lol

Hello , thank you for giving insight into your classroom . That’s the thing about being in education , we get thrown with things & expected to make it work . Yes! I'm not a teacher yet, but I've been getting ideas for my future classroom, and this is the first small classroom setup I've seen. Hey, I heard you mention a wishlist. Do you have an Amazon wishlist or anything? I'm always looking to contribute to classrooms.

Thanks girly! It most definitely is different. I’m thinking about that now. Finishing up with 20+ kindergarteners and then have to be a mom and wife after 😮💨for 5 days a week😪 that’s going to be a lot so I’m looking to God. Lol second year 🎉 woop woop! 🙌🏿

Was this ever a classroom? Looks like they had no space and they just made a space into a classroom. It is soooo small. How many kiddos will you have?

@@Oliveyourmoney Sadly yes. I’ve seen many small classes at this school and that’s definitely a con. Shaped differently but still ridiculously small. They told me 20 but it didn’t sound like they were sure 😳 so I’ll have to wait and see 👀
