Welcome to a week in the life as a teacher! In this vlog, It is a full and busy week for me. There are half days, parent teacher conferences, the end of a quarter, the beginning of two new classes, a class celebration, etc. Come along with me!
My name is Alexa Borota and I teach High School English. I also taught Middle School ELA for eight years. I know you posted this a while ago, but my school offers extra credit for students to attract more parents to conferences. If their parent(s) attends conferences, they get 10 EC points. As an extra incentive, I offer 5 EC points more if they come with their parent(s) and participate in the conference. One of my expectations is, 'Be an Active Participant in Your Education.'

I taught ELL’s, including newcomers, for years in my early years. I have to tell you, scaffolding and differentiation is second nature to me now thanks to those years. Best of luck to you in your first year!
