My CAE exam is on Saturday and I'm so scared. The second writing task is what I am afraid of the most. Not necessarily because of the structure or the language but due to the fact that I can't come up with any ideas for it. When I saw the example task in this video I tried to come up with content I could put in the report but nothing came to mind. I am just so afraid that I won't have any idea what to write on Saturday

Advanced C1 reports: 220-260 words Report is written to superior ( director or manager), or peer group( other students , or members of a club you’re a member of as well) Present factual information( might be made up by you, but realistic) Making suggestions and recommendations at the end of the report ( that is the purpose of writing a report) Effective and efficient organization ( right paragraph structure, and different linking words and expressions to connect our ideas) analyze the task and extract all information we need ( use these questions: the topic ? Underline the key topic points that need to be included in the report ( usually 3-4 point in the head of the question ) who is going to read our report? To decide the correct style . We normally have the choice between formal, neutral and informal language, and depending on the person that the report is directed towards, we choose, e.g to the manager , we choose formal words. How to structure our report (all reports are the same ) 1 Title : simple title 2 introduction: clearly state the purpose of the report. And prepare the reader for what to come in the following paragraphs. 3 topic paragraphs: we address the key topic points that we found in our task analysis ( the main , longest parts of the report) give each paragraph a subheading, and start each paragraph with what to expect in this exact paragraph. 4 conclusion / recommendation: use a subheading as well. We suggest a specific course of action and summarize the information from the topic paragraphs. ( we use persuasive language to help change the opinion of the reader’s opinion in our favor)

Hey, I have an urgent question. There are some reports where they don't ask for suggestions, instead they ask you to say how helpful your training/etc. has been for your future career/etc. In this case do we still have to write suggestions? Or do I just have to write a conclusion? Or both?

However, I find it difficult to differenciate between a report and a proposal because they have a lot of similarities and, although I really like proposals, in some occasions I might confuse them with a report. So, the task asks me to write about an exchange programme I took part in and it says "Your report should include where you went and who you stayed with and what you did during your visit. It should also include a comparison between your visit and the person's previous stay with you, as well as any points you wish to make in general". Which would be the topic points?

The explanations are nice and clear, but it is strange to see spelling mistakes here like "evaluation" is written as "eveluation".

Not to be a perfectionist but you got spelling mistakes here and there and even the name of the first part of the video is incorrect, but all in all a great video but for some people really slowly progressing, would recommend to play in 1,25x or 1,5 speed
