My name is Tomi-ane but my friends call me Tomi and over here I like to showcase my crazy life/ world. Hence, the name Tomi's World. I am 22 years old and I'm an English teaching expat from little ole Jamaica out here in the Japanese countryside! I like to think I'm an extroverted introvert as I exhibit characteristics of both species *lol*. I like to play sports but i'm not athletic and I like to dance but I'm so bad at it! so....yeah that's me!

I'm applying for JET again, but I wished I got to experience and live in Japan before 2020. I feel like Japan isn't the same, but I'm still gonna apply. My goal is to have a career in the Japanese animation industry. I using the JET or some other teaching job as a steeping stone to get to Japan and teach for a few years before applying at an animation studio.

Yes I love this!! (Side note: when ever I don't want to work or study I always watch your channel for a bit to motivate myself and I always tell my that it's all going to be worth it in the end and if I quit right now I won't be able to teach in japan)

I was planning on going on study abroad with my college, but corona caused all my plans to get put in the back burner, but I’m still trying for my JPN minor, majoring in English. I was wondering if you have your teaching certificate, or if it makes a difference when you go for ALT work in Japan? I know the JET website says it isn’t required, but I was wondering your opinion on it. Is it worth the extra time to get the teaching certificate or not? Also, thank you for the amazing videos! Very helpful in getting an idea of ALT life :D
