The first manual car I bought was a mustang gt when I was 18. Had no clue how to drive it lol. I handed the guy the $$ and somehow made it home 😃

She did really well! That was truly impressive.

I taught my sister (16 at the time) how to drive a 4 spd in my 79 fox body. (Capri). She killed it !

I learned how to drive stick with a Fox Body Mustang! It was a 1988 with T-Tops and an 8 Ball Hurst shifter. The clutch is definitely tricky in those cars. My dad wanted to KILL ME! LOL!

Teaching her a lost art!! Love to see a couple girls driving a manual. I learned when I was 13 by just watching my dad driving his 1986 Toyota Corolla. The day he tried to “show” me, I was already ahead of the game 😂. It’s easy if you have a good sense of how things work mechanically. GOOD JOB TEACHING AND TO THE YOUNG ONE, AMAZING JOB LEARNING!!

Congratulations, Great Job!!! I learned to drive a standard when I bought a new Firebird Formula and had nothing else to drive. It took me way longer to get good at that than your sister took, she is a natural!

My first manual experience was a '69 Roadrunner, 383, 4-speed with an 11" Hays, street/strip clutch set up, stiff as hell but once released, you're burning rubber in all gears!

I remember in high school teaching my female classmates to drive manual transmission. Being serious, but at the same time devious(😉), I'd(with their permission) place my hands on each of their knees and push on each leg when they needed to manipulate the clutch and accelerator pedals. Once they got comfortable, I backed off. I enjoyed the bad students better😁

Wow, your Sis figured it out quick! Your a good teacher. I had to learn manual on a 65 VW Beetle. Man, what a crappy car to learn on because it had no horsepower. After two family members tried to teach me, mostly by freaking out and yelling at me, I finally just grabbed the keys one day and took off with the car and figured it out by myself.

That was great! I have never seen anybody take off without jumping on the first try! She’s a natural for sure! Good job! I really enjoy your videos!

I taught myself to drive on a 94 5.0 I got new from the dealership, I walked around it and when asked to test drive it I said no but I didn't say why lmao I bought it and literally had about 6 employees go outside to watch me start it up and drive it off because they could just tell a 18 year old kid that looked 12 didn't know how to drive stick but I only stalled it once trying to leave the lot then got it on the freeway and I was rolling!! Best years of my life. Hence why I still have it 😁

I have fun shifting gears but I switched my 86 to a C-4 and a 3,500 stall and shift kit and now you barely touch the gas and it don't take much to lay rubber. I also switched to 351 Windsor which really woke up the 86 GT.

My first manual car was in 85 Fox body with a front end setup like your car but it had a race built 357 stroker with a 5-speed, long tube headers and a magnapack exhaust, I didn't keep it long enough to really learn to drive on it because clutch was way too heavy, so instead I ended up with a 2004 mustang that had a 98 mustang GT motor and 5-speed manual swap. Much easier to drive. Now I own a beautiful 2002 mustang GT 5 speed and I love it tons.

Good memories! I taught my sister how to drive a standard or manual in my 2005 Subaru WRX STi. She did the same thing and bought a Mazda rx8 and had never learned to drive a manual. IT WAS TERRIFYING, but she got it. My sister kept apologizing for stalling or over revving with the clutch engaged. I told her (and believe to this day) that memories last for a lifetime and clutches can be replaced. My sister went on to ditch the rx8 and bought another manual transmission car new off the lot. Have a great day! Your sister, or Trinity, did VERY well for her first time. She MAY be a natural.

If that was really her first time I'm very impressed! You hafta push pretty hard on the fox body clutch too so that's even more impressive.

I Quit Driving Manual Transmission years ago after A Torn ACL

I taught my son on my 1988 lx 5.0. I have a 2019 5.0 and he says dad, this one is way easier to drive. And hes right.

To be real when I did my 4V 4.6 swap in my 97 gt I had NO idea how to drive stick. That was at 26yrs old hahaha I learned real fast cause with in a week of driving around the parking lot in first gear I took it on the freeway (worse decision possible as there is a few exits that sit on hills) Your sis did GREAT considering

Very nice she did great I have a 1984 mustang I did over was a 4cyl auto I did the whole car over I built a 302 for it and put a 5 speed in it and a brand new suspension on it it’s so fun to drive can’t wait for some nice weather so I can drive it again

I start my cobra in second sometimes.

The first time I tried engaging the clutch I stalled, and proceeded to stall like 10 more times before I got it. I learned in a 2002 GT Deluxe. On top of that, the threshold for Mustangs is soooo much smaller than other cars so it's hard to learn in them. So for her to get it the first try is insane.

I just bought a 95 Gt all original , bone stock with 170 k miles for $2000. Really good shape except a misfire. Turns out only problem was a spark plug wire came off.
