In this video, Miss Brittany reads the story, "Corduroy's Shapes" by, MaryJo Scott. She points out different shapes, where they exist in the story, and explains the forms of certain shapes, such as the number of sides, etc.
After, Miss Brittany invites the viewers to participate in an interactive game which they help her identify the names of various shapes. Then, the shapes are placed on their matching shape represented on colored paper. During this process, how to recognize the different shapes, is discussed, as well as their colors. In addition, the number of sides each shape has, is often discussed by counting together.
Lastly, the number of shapes are compared in order to determine which group of shapes have the most and least total quantities.
These are all critical math skills which preschoolers and toddlers will develop.
