Ravi's explanation of the Tri-unity of GOD is amazing. It's worth watching and reflecting upon!
Interesting comments by so many. Some are quoting Church Fathers. However, go straight to the Scriptures and the profound is made simple. Last I checked, the Church Fathers aren't on the level of the Scriptures--and, although closer to the "source material" of the world of the Scriptures, why go around the long way when we can cut straight to the Sources for truth and valid doctrine.
"Trinity" not found in Bible. Correct. But the concept is. Incarnation is not found in the Bible. Yet the concept is. Rapture is not found in the Bible, but whether pre-mid-post-Trib, it is there as a spiritual truth. Those in Christ will be caught away at some future point in human history.
God in the flesh/God with us-Immanuel/John 1: The Word was with God and was God and dwelt among us/Jesus saying before Abraham was, I AM/Jesus saying Unless you believe I AM, you will die in your sins/Isaiah 9:6/Revelation 1: I Am the Alpha & the Omega, He Who was once dead but behold, I am alive and hold the keys of death, hell and the grave./"Elohim" in Genesis 1--Let Us make Man in Our image.../Matthew 28: Baptise in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It doesn't say "Names" but "Name." God is One--yet obviously revealed to be three in one...
Hmmm, interesting... There is a complexity to GOD. He is one, echad. Yet He has revealed Himself as three Beings in one. It's not 1+1+1=3 but 1x1x1=1.
Enjoy Ravi's amazing explanation of the Tri-unity of God in this video!
And don't over-complicate the subject matter. It's much more simple. Its when we put our theology on the subject that it becomes so complex and seemingly difficult to comprehend. God came and dwelt among us (John 1:14). And He was with God and was God--the only begotten Son has declared Him. Amen!

That was beautiful, and as Mr. Zacharias was explaining this, the Holy Spirit was confirming it to me, He was on fire within. This is the best explaination of the Trinity that I have ever heard. The Holy Spirit once gave me a simple vision to explain it when i was a new Christian. He showed me hair that was braided with 3 strands. All 3 strands were separate but equal and all part of the one head of hair. It was simple and it helped me understand! Shalom all!

I had it explained by using H2O. But then someone said that would be wrong. When I was a kid someone said H2O has 3 forms, water, steam and ice. Water is like God, steam is the holy spiritual and I’ve is Jesus. Except the trinity is all at the same time. I was told it was wrong to explain it that way for some reason. 🤷🏻‍♀️. Idk. I think it makes sense. It helped me.

I dont think the mind body spirit thi9ng is a good way to explain the trinity No man comes to God but by His word. And no man knows the whole father, but through His spirit, The Holy Spirit, We have a knowledge of God. The Only way to The Holy Spirit is through the word of God. And Since Letter/word is at the speed of Ligth/expression in the name of The Father, The Scripture that speaks on That there are three that bare witness in heaven, The Father, The Word, and The Holy Spirit and these three are one. This scripture makes sense. But I dont believe that this teaches the trintiy. I made a new vdeio on this. I dont use the word trinity kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iplkdrShrb-lYXU.html

When you hear Ravi speak so eloquently and coherently on a subject like the Trinity it is bewildering how any Jehovah's Witness, Muslim, Unitarian, Arian, etc, etc can reject it out of hand. We know that JW's are not supposed to expose themselves to Christians of any kind, so if by chance they heard Ravi in this video, regardless what they may say publicly, privately this presentation has to penetrate through the brainwashing somewhat. That's what Ravi does, he takes away falsehood in the lost one layer (presentation) at a time. He is a gift to Christianity, along with so many other teachers, evangelists, preachers, and apologists. We are so blessed in the Christian church because God has made the Gospel of Christ so relevant and supernaturally alive in unison with His Holy Word, the Bible. I believe that God grants us who are born again of the Spirit the gift of seeing clearly the Trinity, as revealed in every area of the Bible. I see the Trinity in the very first three verses of Genesis, one, two, three. 1:1 God created the heaven and earth (the Father) 1:2 The Spirit moved over the deep. (the Holy Spirit) 1:3 Then God said,"let there be light" (the WORD, the Son Jesus Christ). He spoke and that is why it is said that the Word created all things. (John 1:1-3; Col.1:15-19; Jeb. 1:1-3) Now, if you want to argue with that go right ahead, I simply point out that for those who are alive in Christ see the Trinity and specifically the Deity of Jesus jump out nearly on every page, certainly in every book. I am glad that I saw this video of Ravi, I do enjoy his ministry so much, God Bless him.

I believe that many people have read Scripture with their heads but missed the point because they forgot to read it with their hearts, too. Or they have allowed dogma from different other faiths to malign their perception of God even though the Biblical text is quite clear. 1. As Christ followers, it's silly that the NT should've presented Yeshua in the way they did without it being very deliberate. For JWs especially, they have the same Scriptures as we (though a very poor translation), yet they malign what is clearly stated. It doesn't get much more clear than John chapters 1, 2, 8 regarding HIs deity. 2. And if He is indeed God the Son & God the I AM at the same time as John 1 & 8:58 clearly attest, then we must take a closer look at the nature of GOD. 3. And if Yeshua speaks of the Holy Spirit as a Person and as Someone of Whom one can blaspheme, and if the writer of Acts attributes Personhood to the Ruach haKodesh, again, we are forced to re-examine the nature of God. 4. When we look at the above fully and conclusively, we start to make sense of OT passages wherein we see God speaking of Himself as "Us, Our" (Genesis 1, Isaiah 6). We start to make sense of Theophanies in the OT wherein God appears to humanity such as Abraham. We start to understand the passages of Daniel that speak of Christ as the Son of Man--and that this same reference in Matthew/Mark/Luke is actually an elevation of Yeshua that is tied to Daniel--in other words, that this One was and is the Divine One who will come on the clouds. We start to understand the prophesies regarding this One that would come... 5. When we see Christ accepting worship, forgiving sins, and speaking of Himself as being "greater than the Temple" and "greater than the prophets" and "Lord of the Sabbath," such items start to make sense. When He declares He Himself will raise Himself up on the third day--these all begin to make sense in light of His identity as the I AM in the midst of us. No writer of the NT would've used the language they used unless they truly wanted to teach the Church what and Who He was & is to us and to the world.

Here is real supreme logical and senseful explanation of the most high God. May God give prof. ZECHARIAH and his family with more prosperity of wisdom, peace , and knowledge. By the way, any size or measure that can be named is limited. So, the idea of presence of the Triune divine living God is beyond our limited counting system with its limited boundary. Although the Creator is one in terms of His existing identity, His speaking, love and relational , and counseling abilities had been exprinced within His Triune presence in the first place. Eg.of His Triune counseling is that when He said" let us create human in our image" and " let us confuse their languages".

Easy! Genesis 1:26 GOD created us in His Own Image and Likeness. I, myself; i am 3 in 1: body, soul & spirit= but i am one. So GOD made us in His Image which is 3 in 1. why so difficult to understand that?

Shalom! I believe in trinity. You stated, "I, myself; i am 3 in 1: body, soul & spirit= but i am one. " In this case Jesus claims that he is son. God, himself; body (son), soul(father), spirit (counselor). I s it a bit of juxtaposition of the claim that you have made? :p

Brian Beck ...Yes, how can we in our finite minds expect to understand everything about God..God is infinite and immortal...And in our present state of sinfulness we cannot understand and comprehend everything about God.... When we do meet Him in the Second Coming...We will see Him.... That's what the Bible says about faith.... Hebrews 11: 1 Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen...

Hi, Larry...your words are true as it is God's given Word, His ultimate form of communication to us by which we can know Him...His personal character and His will. But Larry, because our existence is limited and fallible, it is impossible for us to FULLY comprehend God and His ways. This is one aspect to His AWESOMENESS. We comprehend but He is beyond our FULL comprehension. As it says in Isaiah 55:8-9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." And Job 36:26 "Behold, God is exalted, and we do not know Him; The number of His years is unsearchable." "Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable," (Psalm 145:3). Paul adds to this idea, observing that "the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God,,...no one comprehends the things of God except the Spirit of God" (1 Corinthians 2:10-12). David likewise emphasizes this in his reference to God; "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain it" (Psalm 139:6; cf. 17). God is so majestic, Larry! Yes, we can know Him...but COMPLETELY? I dare not arrogantly credit myself with the capability! God is limitless! There's no way, especially on this little earth with all the little green apples that God has made, that our FINITE minds could possibly fathom the INFINITE God completely. He is THAT awesome!

Reading 2 Phil 2:6-11 Brothers and sisters: Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Alleluia

Do not know if Ravi would agree with this. But I have a simple illustration. You have a simple apple. The apple has seeds inside the white inner fruit and the Red outter skin. All 3 parts make up one apple. Different purpose, different taste. Can separate all 3 . yet you can not have an apple without all 3 becoming one. Makes perfect sense to me. Now just imagine if A small minded person as myself can understand this, what can the infinate mind of God be.

I have always maintained a simpler explanation of the Trinity which makes sense (at least, to me). "GOD IS LIGHT". All light is one and the same light, yet passed through a prism, its three components (equal, yet separate) are revealed in 3 primary colors. All of them are light, yet they are not identical but rather completely distinct. Such is the Trinity! Three Entities, yet all the One and the same God. And without One of Them, God would not exist. -- Just as light would not exist apart from its 3 primary colors.

Or we could just read his Word: Deuteronomy 33:27 {The Father has always been} The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them. Psalm 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Jeremiah 23:24 {The Omnipresence of the Father} Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? Saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? Saith the LORD. Proverbs 15 {The omniscience of the Father } The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 1 John 3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Matthew 19 {The Omnipotence of The Father} 26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Malachi 3:6 {The Immutability of the Father} For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. ============================================================ Micah 5:2 { Jesus has always been } But thou, Bethlehem Ephrata, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. Matthew 18:20 {The Omnipresence of the Son} For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Ephesians 4:10 He that descended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things John 21:17 {The omniscience of the Son } He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, feed my sheep. Colossians 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Matthew 28:18 {The Omnipotence of The Son} And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Revelation 1:8, 22:13, 16 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end the first and the last… I JESUS have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I love my local pastor at my church, he explains it in a very simple way, he explains that trinity is more like a role that God does in this vast universe. imagine yourself a happily married man, that are blessed with children and lovely wife, and also still have a loving parents. Now if you look at this, your roles will be different. When you relate to your own parents, then you relate to them as their son, same thing when you approach and relate to your own children then in this case, you relate to them as their dad/father. Also with your wife, you will relate yourself to her as her husband. Now does this mean there are three of you? of course not there is still one you only, never been three, but the roles that you take are indeed three. Same thing with Trinity ( Father, Son and Holy Spirit).. As you know family is the smallest unit in society that God created. I think family analogy is the perfect example to explain the relationship between Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This explanation makes more sense to me, especially for simple minded people. No disrespect to Ravi, but I think his explanation is bit more complex and can be bit hard to grasp, but again it's just my personal opinion.

Sorry to shock you, the real trinity explanation is each person Father, Son and Holy Spirit is distinct (each having self-consciousness) hence it cannot be explained using role. The concept of role is still Modalism explanation, only having one consciouness, i.e one-being.

Servant of Christ , praise the lord The greatest expression of love Is in the godhead, So much so that such perfect Love is Beyond understanding, God is a spirit but He has a form He has head, body, hands , feet, eyes, mouth He use His mouth to talk, He said come, speaking to The godhead let us make man. He use his hands to form Adam out of the Dust He use his Finger to Write the Ten Commandments On tables of stones on mount Sinai, Though He is a Divine Being, But He has personality. The bible talked about the Mind of God. And if God is Love Then He has a Heart and because He Has a heart, He knows it's Not Good For Man to be Alone, Because man was made In His image, and human beings heart desire love and companionship. That means He Dose not Like loneliness, That's why He Made us That one day we will be with Him. God need companionship, That's why He made Man In His Image. He said the church is His Bride, he is Love, He share Love. God is comfort , and He gives comfort, You can't SEPERATE God from his word but for the plan Of salvation the operation is divided, the responsibility is shared. That's love, the Fathers roll is different from the son who is The word, the Holy Spirit working is different, He works On the hearts and minds of mankind, To connect humanity With divinity. The word which is also spirit and life was always with God, John 1:1and is God, we do not have to fight against him He is who the bible say he is. Also the Holy Spirit whom the world cannot receive. The word is spirit as well as the word is life, When the word took on form, He came to us In the likeness of a man, we beheld His Glory We called him JESUS . So easy, and yet such mystery, That's GOD! Amen Thank you Father son and Holy Spirit . The gospel is simple . People turn away from the clear simplicity of The gospel and turn to fables.. . The oneness people say the father do everything he is the one who even Hang on the tree, he make a shell which is JESUS and Put himself into the shell JESUS. . Undermining the clear simple teaching of Truth In the scriptures. There was never a time when God was by himself John1:1 said the word was with him God is love and share love in the godhead The word which is spirit and have life in himself Was with him in the biggining , Also the Holy Spirit who is a silent listener If not, THEN JOHN 1:1 DOSENT make any sense And I know it makes perfect sense. Also all the other scriptures. Amen..

"But in the one true God and Trinity it is naturally true not only that God is one but also that he is a Trinity, for the reason that the true God himself is a Trinity of Persons and one in nature. Through this natural unity the whole Father is in the Son and in the Holy Spirit, and the whole Holy Spirit, too, is in the Father and in the Son. None of these is outside any of the others; because no one of them precedes any other of them in eternity or exceeds any other in greatness, or is superior to any other in power"

The unity of the trinity I believe can also be expressed by the science of mathematics. Mathematics is an exact science. 1+1 always equals 2. 2+2 always equals 4. Since the G-d head is a unity in diversity you can not “add to it: 1+1+1=3. You must multiply it by itself: 1x1x1= “1”. 3 individual units multiplied by themselves. You just have to use the correct mathematical formula. You would think people would see this more easily since you cannot add to G-d since He is One!!

Michael Regan we dont live in a time that we need to obscure God's name. We WANT people to know God. The Hebrews did not want people to speak God's name. Orthodox Jews today still avoid using God's name in conversation (his name) not the word God.

Thanks for your comment and question. Appreciate you stopping by. Jesus said, "Go therefore in the Name (singular) of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit." And this is one of many such passages. Fact: to deny Tri-unity of God usually results in a denial of the deity of Christ (which is evident throughout the Bible). And if you're oneness believing Jesus is Father, is Son, is Holy Spirit, you open up a whole different can of worms. Jesus said, "I will send Another like Me." Jesus said of the Spirit one can speak against the Son and it be forgiven; but to speak against the Holy Spirit, it would not be forgiven--in this world or the world to come. There is a stark difference between the Son and the Spirit. And to Whom was Jesus praying to...and to Whom did He commit His spirit when He died (to go into Hades)? It was the Father. Fact: deny the Tri-unity of God, you deny common sense interpretations of the Scripture and the correct understanding of the nature of GOD. You won't find the word Trinity in the Bible. Thank God it's not written out. There is a mystery to the Creator--one that must be understood by the Spirit and the Word (the Scriptures, the Bible). Many words are not found in the Bible that are still valid: Incarnation; Rapture, etc. God bless! Sean

If we can't teach the Trinity from the Word of God, then we have no business teaching it as the Word of God. The best teaching on the Trinity is "Understanding the Trinity from the Scriptures - It's all about God's Love for You," by H. D. Shively Get it from Barnes and Noble. This book uses the Scriptures only and eliminates man's philosophy and conjecture.

I agree with you. But consider that his audience isn't even majority-Christian. It's to a university audience that might not even believe in the Scriptures. I believe all thought-processes can give logical foundations for why we believe what we believe. I'm quite sure Ravi could've highlighted Scripture after Scripture. But as a philosopher, he does the job adequately. Some may disagree and some may belittle his belief--but it is powerful and it deserves consideration--ESPECIALLY in light of the Scriptures which reveal God in His plurality within Himself.

What do we understand by a Trinitarian God. In the Christian faith the Trinitarian God means three persons in one God. The person referred here should not be understood as human person but rather a divine person. It means there are three divine entity in one God. It can be termed as singularity in plurality. The Trinity as understood by Christians is God, the Spirit of God and the Word of God. They appear as three entity but is only one God. In order to have a simple understanding we can take a comparison with the Sun. Sun is not God but a created object. It is used here just for understanding. The Sun similarly has three entities viz. The Sun, its heat and its light. Inspite of the three entities we still say one Sun and not three Suns. Similarly God has three entities God, Word of God and Spirit of God and yet one God. Further we see the power of the heat of the Sun is inside the Sun and at the same time the heat is also on earth when the Sun shines. It show some what its omnipotence. Similarly we see the light of the Sun, which is within the Sun and at the same time is present on the earth where it shines. This show its omnipresence. God in a similar manner but much more portently becomes omnipotent and omnipresent. It is an all knowing God who is the creator of all things and who is everlasting. He has used the other two entities to achive the purpose of creation. He was God, He is God and will remain God. I am sure you have now understood the concept of God as One God comprising of three entities. Christians therefore believe in only One God which means monotheism. Let not the devil fool you with his half lies and irrational arguments.

OK, let's take a look at what you are attempting to say. What is "The Constantine lie"? The Church teaches what God revealed for mankind. Why are you having a problem with that unless you believe that truth does not matter? The Nicene - Constantinople Creed was formulated at Nicea in 325 A. D. and Constantinople in 381 A. D. You "Sabbath keepers" keep accusing Christians of worshiping some sun god, yet, I could simply level the same claim against you. Since the Sabbath falls between sundown Friday and sundown Saturday, let's look at the history of the names of those days. The name Friday comes from the Old English Frīġedæġ, meaning the "day of Frige", a result of an old convention associating the Old English goddess Frigg with the Roman goddess Venus, with whom the day is associated in many different cultures. The same holds for Frīatag in Old High German, Freitag in Modern German, and vrijdag in Dutch. So, on Friday, you are worshiping the goddess Frigg and the goddess Venus. Saturday is named after the planet Saturn, which in turn was named after the Roman god Saturn. So, there you have it. You want Christians to worship two female and one male pagan deities. There are a lot of words in Christianity that are used to explain a theological concept. It does not mean that they are inherently wrong. God is not to be worshiped? You refer to the New Testament, yet, you take issue against those people called by God whom you claim to know. The early Christians professed that Jesus is God well before Nicea. Nicea just upheld what was already taught because Arius was teaching heresy.

Origen "For we do not hold that which the heretics imagine: that some part of the being of God was converted into the Son, or that the Son was procreated by the Father from non-existent substances, that is, from a being outside himself, so that there was a time when he [the Son] did not exist" (The Fundamental Doctrines 4:4:1 [A.D. 225]). "No, rejecting every suggestion of corporeality, we hold that the Word and the Wisdom was begotten out of the invisible and incorporeal God, without anything corporal being acted upon . . . the expression which we employ, however that there was never a time when he did not exist is to be taken with a certain allowance. For these very words ‘when’ and ‘never’ are terms of temporal significance, while whatever is said of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, is to be understood as transcending all time, all ages" (ibid.). "For it is the Trinity alone which exceeds every sense in which not only temporal but even eternal may be understood. It is all other things, indeed, which are outside the Trinity, which are to be measured by time and ages" (ibid.).

What aspect causes the other in your life, Happiness causes truth or truth causes Happiness? Consequently: What aspect comes first in your daily life routine, Happiness or truth? Selflessly, Ps. Truth cannot be relative or as a preference/opinion (right/wrong), but it must transcend time. Therefore, truth is in actuality absolute; never changes. The absolute truth is fundamentally visible within nature via the patterns in reason but do you see/know the patterns that allow discernment to see/know it? Therefore, matter as neither created/destroyed identifies the 1st Cause of everything created in existence starting with/as the 3 in 1 perfectly infinite coded pattern as Actuality of "matter"/"Hope"/"God." Isaiah 53:5, he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed. For salvation, people just need to follow the way they did it in Acts? They were baptized in the water and of the spirit. Here's why! The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If we are to follow him, we must do the same thing. Death= repentance, Burial = baptism, and resurrection = being filled and rising again from the dead. That's what Acts 2:38 is. We must obey the gospel, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ... Matthew 7:21-23, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven; but he that DOETH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in Heaven. St John 3:3-5, EXCEPT a man be born of WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD. We can't come up with our own gospel. Galatians 1:8-9, But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Don't be cursed. One way for all people. Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritan. Our salvation has to match-up with the scriptures and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away. Eternity is TOOO long to be WRONG! st John 5:39, Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. The gospels show what Christ has done on the cross for us. The book of Acts shows us the beginning of Christ's Church and how to enter the Church, obeying Acts 2:38. The letters were written to the Church to show us how to behave now that we are born again into the Church. It's better to walk alone than to walk with a crowd going in the wrong direction. Are we supposed to follow the teachings of the apostles? Acts 2:42, They continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrines. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. If you believe in this message, help spread it in the name of Jesus Christ. God bless you!

I'd also like to add one passage from Scripture wherein we see the THREE PERSONS of the Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, present and active AT THE SAME TIME....Three distinct Beings of the Trinity, yet ONE God. Here it is at the baptism of Jesus.... "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Hi Linda, People mean well, but they tend to over-complicate the nature and reality of GOD. He is beyond and outside Creation--all that we see and know. It just rings true that He is three-in-one--as revealed in the Scriptures. Those who reject the Trinity end up distorting either the Fatherhood of God (oneness doctrine) or the deity of the Son (JWs & Muslims) or the Personhood of the Holy Spirit--all valid and incontrovertible in the Scriptures. I know it's not easy to understand the nature of GOD--just as a two-dimensional being would find it nigh impossible to understand three-dimensional being entering its world.

Hi, Encounter...you make some good points..."Those who reject the Trinity end up distorting either the Fatherhood of God (oneness doctrine) or the deity of the Son (JWs & Muslims) or the Personhood of the Holy Spirit--all valid and incontrovertible in the Scriptures." I ONCE checked out a church...attended one service....The congregation was very nice...smiling and friendly. But I noticed the women, ALL the women, including the young teens, had either their hair up in buns or completely down...long and without any "fashion" such as bangs or style. And their clothing was reminiscent of Little House on the Prairie. The men, including even the youngest elementary school boys, ALL wore suits! And not one woman wore pants...and not one woman had make up. I felt completely out of place; I wear mascara and lip stick and that day I wore jeans. During the pastor's sermon, he said the following words, "If you don't say the right words, if you don't do the right things and if you don't wear the right clothes, you're NOT going to heaven!" At that point, I wanted to RUN RUN RUN from their legality! It was clear that their "doctrine" was one of works, not one which involved living for Christ because Christ died for our sins....yes, doing good works but NOT for the purpose of somehow "earning" one's salvation; but rather out of LOVE for the Lord. If we love Him, we will OBEY Him...Obedience flows from our love of Him. But when I left that service, the usher opened the door for me and I asked him, "Do you believe in the Trinity?" He answered "Oh, no...no...we just believe in one....Jesus is one....The Father and Jesus and everything...just one". (He seemed a little uncomfortable answering the question, but he was very nice.) I then asked, "Do you believe in salvation through works or salvation through grace?" But this very sweet man did NOT understand my question! I quickly explained "Do you believe you are saved through Christ's work on the Cross or do you think you have to DO things to be saved?" He answered, "Oh, THAT....we believe in THAT..." I said "You believe in salvation through Christ?" He responded "Yes..." I thanked him and left. But "THAT" is NOT what they believe. And this church was a ONENESS doctrine church...Good people, friendly and most likely very kind people. I think I've seen them in Wal Mart...always very friendly...Reminds me of Mormons. But living without the TRUTH. Very sad indeed.

Thanks for sharing your experience. From my observations, I've found extremes in all parts of Christendom. Sadly, we are more known for our legalism, our judgemental attitudes, our stances against things rather than for our agape-love, our service, our recognition of ourselves, His Church, being His ambassadors and leading people into RECONCILIATION with the Father. This is, for me, the heart of what a follower of Christ should be like. Yes, we will stand up against sin, a culture of death (abortion), against immorality, and the like. But while we stand up like the cane plant in a corrupt culture, we must seek to be His spokespersons--and when necessary, speak (in other words, let our actions speak for Him more than just our words). People will forget our words. But they won't forget our acts of kindness and generosity and boldness to share with them His Good News. I respect those in the Church that believe they should be modest in appearance, dress, and avoid the appearance of evil. But some of the greatest Christians I've met had tattoos, had a bad history, looked like a cross between Arnold S & a biker gang. So we should recognize that some of us are called to reach out to particular groups of people. A businessman won't be heard by an unsaved biker. But a biker in Christ might be able to reach him. We should celebrate where we are and just get moving to DO HIS WILL... Do, not just talk. Do, not just "don'ts". I wrote a book called THE JESUS BOY. It's exactly about the above--how a person who says YES 100% could be used by the Lord...what would such a life look like? I tried to capture what I believe is the heart of God for His people. Check it out, Linda, if you care to. God bless you and thanks for the chat! -Sean Elliot Russell

Hi, Sean...I hope I didn't convey the wrong message...I do not mind in the least what someone wears...I pointed out their mode of attire due to what their pastor had remarked, "Unless you WEAR the right clothes, you will NOT go to heaven." I was trying to stress the point that salvation has nothing to do with what we wear, including the often "happy" mask many of us wear in church. But rather our salvation is completely dependent upon Who we carry in our hearts...specifically, Jesus. The reason I pointed out my jeans and mascara and lipstick is, though these individuals were so very nice to me, I did feel judged...especially when the pastor made it clear what he and the people of that church believed about me...that I was going to hell because of my jeans and makeup. I had sat in the back because of my differences and the awkwardness that comes from one's first-time visit. And I left early, while everyone's heads were bowed as the pastor prayed. I left not only for feeling judged but because I didn't feel comfortable being in a place of worship, when God was not the true Object of their worship. In essence, I did not feel I was among "brethren" and felt out of place. My concern was and remains for those who deny the Trinity. I believe that if we deny one aspect to God, that we deny ALL aspects to Him. "Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.” 1 John 2:23 It seems logical to believe likewise that if we deny the Holy Spirit, then we deny the Father and Son because all three Persons are equal; all three equally make up our One God (for lack of a better way to describe this mystery.) "The Jesus Boy"....Yes, I"ll look for it, Sean! Thank you...and thank you for your faithfulness to the Truth. God bless you :)

God is Love......He is the Source, the Word, and the Wisdom........ that in the beginning of time itself, united in His nature since the start He is All Knowing.....yet what or who do He knew since creation of all things that were and are and will be?.... He knows Himself through His reflection, the very definition of Himself through His Son......being a reflection of God Himself, He embodies God and is the absolute image of God and spirit of God, all that God is is the Son.....the God Knows the Son and speaks with Him, He loves His Son in the beginning of all.....the shared Love between them is the very nature of God Himself and is Love, for God is Love Himself, therefore the shared Love between the Father and the Son is Love and is God. God is Love. God is Love in His very nature and divinity. We may not fully know Him and grasp His nature or understand His divinity, therefore placing us in humility before His infiniteness and possibilities, making God beyond us all yet encompassing through us as the Spirit of God is with us, therefore the Son is with us and the Father is with us as we are all in the Son, the Spirit, and the Father Himself, God Himself. God in His nature is beyond reason, beyond math, beyond human concept of number and counting.....He shouldn't be understood fully for He is beyond dimensions of our world, He is beyond our existence, our ideas, our counting, our logic, or philosophy....... but no matter how God is so hard to understand, He chose to show Himself through His Son and He showed unto us as the Spirit and He spoke and is caring us as the Father like a being encompassing and beyond time and space and our dimension who then came down to our dimension so we can be close to Him who is Love Himself for we always do seek love and belongingness. A God incomprehensible and beyond all our existence came for us and went down for us to our own reality and dimension shows that He loves us and cares about us since the beginning He created the world and us, even until we broke away from Him. He never ended loving us. He is God. God is Love. He is beyond , yet with us, yet within us all those with faith and good will. He is beyond anyone's understanding, yet He tried to come down so we can understand Him in His majesty and mystery. :)

"Do not consider only the goodness of God, but consider His SEVERITY as well. Otherwise, you will also be cut off." - Paul It is very wrong for Christians to go around talking about 'God is love' as it that is His only nature. God is WRATH as well! His very name is JEALOUS! You people are creating an IMAGE of God that YOU want, not one that is representative of HIM. Wesernized Churchianity, not ancient Christianity, cause there is no such thing as "God is Love full stop" and not also mention His terror. "The FEAR of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" "FEAR Him." "All who sin against Me I WILL blot out of My Book!" "Knowing the TERROR of the Lord, we persuade men" Why do you think the Apostles said that? Its' becaue they know the reality of HELL and the ETERNAL DAMNATION that they tried to persuade men against sin. Is God love? Yes. Yes He is. But He is also WRATH and JUDGMENT and VENGENCE.

I do agree that balance is needed. We shouldn't go to one extreme or another--except to say that Yeshua is the only way to God. But as believers in Him, we should give warning to people but make sure our message is, indeed, "Good News," not bad news or condemning news. We have been given a message of RECONCILIATION, that God's wrath has been poured out on His Son so that anyone who puts their trust in HIm will not know or experience God's wrath/condemnation. "God so loved the world" cannot be minimalized. Yet the verses that follow speak of His condemnation resting on those what do not look to the Son. So balance is needed.

I think his explanation is great. To the educated, which is who he is addressing here(a given). But I have found a more common explanation for the average person. Most people would agree to believe in some sort of essence to Life(soul or spirit, or even consciousness)....meaning you can get them to agree to that point, yet their soul or spirit is linked inextricably to themselves, and they wouldn’t consider themselves to have a multi-personality disorder. The Bible claims the very image of God himself is imprinted in the creation of man. We have a body(linked in the physical realm, and a spirit or/and or soul is one with ourselves, yet is in touch with the spiritual realm or dimension. If people do understand the nature of God, they cannot even have a right sense of self identity in this life. If someone cannot understand their own existence and identity, how could they ever have a right understanding God and his identity.

There is no understanding of God, if one can't understand the love b/w father and the son. The father loves the son and the son loves the father. The father loves us that he even sacrificed the son, which he loves the most so that we all could be living with him. Its all about love and love only.

Yeah, Foursquare have very simple explanation of Trinity. Don't need to be apologetic. Trinity in God's creation like egg: 1) Egg Shell, 2) Egg White, and 3) Egg Yoke: One Egg in Three. Another example is man: created in the image of God: composed of body, soul, and spirit: three in one. 1 John 5:7 King James Version (KJV) 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

And why do our Muslim friends find it so improbable/impossible for God to come in the midst of us? Do you reject the OT accounts of the LORD GOD coming in a form and appearing to Abraham? To Adam? To Moses? To the prophets? So why should it be so incredible (though it really truly is incredible), that He should fulfill Scripture and come to the world as one of us? 1. Consider that this One was the Last Adam, made as the first Adam, being perfect and sinless (unlike the rest of humanity). This explains His birth--born of a woman but not from the seed of a man. Through the work of God's Spirit, Mary conceives this very special Child. He comes not to face one temptation but to face all temptations. He comes to regain the dominion lost by the first Adam. He comes to reverse the Fall of the first Adam. He comes to open Eden (so we might walk with God) rather than to close up Eden and place sentries there. He comes to destroy the works of a ramphant enemy--instead of inviting the enemy by disregarding God's words. 2. Consider that this One would come as a Man, yet in His nature be God. However, as God in the flesh, He did not use His deity to any advantage. All of His power, His gifts, HIs wisdom, His works was due to His allegiance to the Father and by the power of the Holy Spirit. 3. Consider that when Christ died on the Cross, God did not die--for death is not a cessation of existence but a gateway to the next realm... I suspect His Lordship did not cease whatsoever when His body expired upon that tree. 4. Consider that when Yeshua calls the Father "My God and My Father," such a statement does not mean that that means He believes HImself not to be God/I AM THAT I AM. He speaks as the Servant--the most humble Man Who ever lived. And, as a Man, He could speak of His Father being Father/God without contradiction to His own nature. 5. Regarding the Son not knowing the day or the hour, I'd say that was true at the time He spoke those words--but such is not true from the moment He returned to Glory. Again He is speaking of Himself as the Servant/Last Adam. 6. And if Muhammad was incorrect about the Cross/Resurrection of Christ which both secular history and biblical history attest, what other things is he incorrect? If he got the event wrong in the natural, what of the heavenly things might he have got completely wrong? If Muslims are honest and look past the lens of their dogma, they might start to question what they believe regarding God's nature and, indeed, what we must do to truly please God. I can say it is not repeating a repetitious prayer five times a day... It is calling upon the Name of the One Crucified and RIsen, that One Who reverses the curse of Adam. Only in Him can we be saved and truly start to live. -Sean

The best explanation of the nature of the God Head is the Holy Spirits explanation. Isaiah 42:8 48:11-12 {God will never share his glory} I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, and I will not give my glory unto another. I am he; I am the first, I also am the Last. Revelation 1: 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was and which is to come, the Almighty. Philippians 2:5-7 {of what did he empty himself} Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of man: {The Greek reads as follows} Who in form of God subsisting not rapinesteemed it to be equal with god; but himself emptied. John 14:28 {Jesus in human form occupies a lower position then the Father} "You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.'" Hebrews 2:9 {Jesus Humbled himself while walking among us} But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone Galatians 4:4 {Jesus set aside his divine nature to be born as a human} But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, John 17:5 {God shares his glory} {of his right to exercise his deity} And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. Matthew 28:18 {which he takes up after the resurrection} And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power {authority} is given (surrendered) unto me in heaven and in earth. Revelation 1: 11-14, 22:13, 16 {now Jesus takes his rightful position} 11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: … 12 And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;… 13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, 14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end the first and the last… > have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. Revelation 1:17-18 {John states Jesus is the First and the Last?} And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, fear not; I am the first and last: I am he that liveth, and was…………….. Dead, and, behold, I am alive for evermore, A-men; and have the keys of hell and of death …..When did the First and the Last (GOD), the Beginning and the End (GOD), the Alpha and Omega (GOD) taste death? Matthew 26:53 (Jesus was obedient to what was prophesied) Are you not aware that I can call on My Father, and He will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way? Daniel 7:13-14, (Daniel fore saw all this) In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.” …..This explains how Jesus created all Hebrews 1:10 {The Father tells us the SON created all} And, Thou, Lord, {kurios} in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands. Colossians 1:16-17 {Jesus created all things} In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him. And for him: And he is before all things. And by him all things consist. John 1:1, 2,3,14 {John states} All things through him came into being, and without him came into being not even one [thing] which has come into being. And the Word flesh became, and tabernacled among us, Isaiah 42:5 44:22 {God created all things} Psalm 104:5 Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the Lord that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heaven alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; Who laid the foundations of the earth, Genesis 1:1 {The Holy Spirit states GOD created all} In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Jeremiah 32:17 Ah Lord God! Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: So Who is GOD ? In His Service,

Hebrews 1:8 {the Father calls Jesus God} Psalm 45:6 But unto the Son he {God} saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom. Hebrews 1:6 {the Father tells the angels to worship Jesus} And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world he {God} saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. John 20:28, 29 {Thomas calls Jesus God} And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. { o Kurios mou kai o Theos mou } the definite article. …..Does Jesus correct Thomas? No, he calls him blessed. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Romans 9:5 {Paul calls Jesus GOD} Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen…NIV I Timothy 4:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles believed on in the world, received up into glory. Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Titus 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, Philippians 2:5-7 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of man: John 1:1, 2,3,14 {John calls Jesus God} In [the] beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word. Matthew 1:23 (Matthew calls Jesus GOD} Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Acts 20:28 {Luke calls Jesus God} Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. 2 Peter 1:1 {Peter calls Jesus God} Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ have received a faith as precious as ours: Isaiah 7:14 {The Holy Spirit calls Jesus God} Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Exodus 3:13-14 (the Father states he is I AM THAT I AM) And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, what is his name? What shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. John 8:58 10:30-36 {John states Jesus said he is I AM} Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM. Some say, Trinity is 1 +1+1=3... I say Trinity is 1×1×1=1. Because Isaiah 9:6 says it. The Son is the Everlasting Father. God was God before, now, and forever. The same God before the world was, the same God who dwelt with man in the flesh, and the same God who's spirit is Holy(Holy Spirit). And he gave it to us all who believed in Jesus. And that he lives within us all Christians. God's power has no limit. All Glory to Jesus our King, Amen!.

Worldly religious men like Ravi Zaccharias love the sound of their own voice and the sound of their many words and the sound of praise they receive for their eloquent yet verbose speeches. The truth is simple, not complex. Knowing the Father and Jesus and the Holy Spirit does not need many verbose words ... in fact no words are needed. Truth and understanding will be placed in your heart if you truly seek it from the Lord. Seek the Lord, not men! Praise Jesus.

You say these things about Ravi--yet you want those who read YOUR words to embrace what YOU are saying as "Gospel." What's the difference? Well, in the former, he's been an apologist for Christ for over three decades. I will listen to him, disagree or not, and consider what he says. To lump him with televangelists and the like is silly and has no basis in reality. In case you haven't heard, it took the Apostle Paul going to men who had not even heard of the Holy Spirit until Paul asked them, "Have you received the Holy Spirit?" Yes, we go to the LORD GOD directly, and through the Scriptures directly, but do not discount what God can speak through people who have experienced a lifetime of growth, who have experienced great pain in their lives, who can give shortcuts to life and questions about life (it's called wisdom)--and lived to tell about it because of their faith in Christ. That is called a testimony. You can disregard Ravi if you wish--that's your choice. His audience is NOT a church. It is a campus where people regard the mind. It is good that he goes there, in my opinion, and speaks in a way so many would turn to the Lord and away from anti-God (either against God or in the place of God). Incidentally, the Lord said to worship/love the LORD with all of one's heart, MIND, and strength. So Ravi, who is not a doctor (only in an honorary sense), is obeying the Lord--not trying to be like you think we should be like...but being true to the man God created him to be (obviously an intellectual). I discount a lot of what you say because you are too high-minded and too unteachable. You've already arrived, as they say (or so you think). But like the man who beats his chest pointing fingers at the sinner in the corner saying, "Thank You God I'm not like that fellow," you are, actually, probably the farthest from God's Kingdom than the people you're pointing at with accusation. Lower your opinion of yourself, I'd suggest.

The Christ came as one of us--He being the exact representation of His Being (Heb 1:1-3). We must remember that He came, chiefly, as the Last Adam to undo the dead works of the First Adam. And to become the Eternal Sacrifice in so doing. That said, He also was the Word that dwelt among us (John 1:1-3, 14)--the only begotten Son of the Father. Although He was GOD, He came also as a Man. And don't forget, many occasions in the OT the LORD appeared to persons who were not struck dead. But yes, if we stand before Him in His unrestrained holiness, we would melt standing there. -Sean
