Ikon will never be able to make a customer like that happy. The dude stores a $130,000 boat in the yard is down right sinful. Seems like he regrets his purchase of the 21 footer and really wants the 20 footer. That request to trade boat for boat alone, raises an eyebrow... 130k for a boat and can't afford a basic carport for storage... what's next, the damn boat keeps rolling down the hill??😁 Ikon went above and beyond.

Great haircut. Ikon did a great job with this man. I own a Ranger and it took on water. We tried and tried on our own to find the problem. No luck. We then took it back to our dealer 90 miles away and dropped it off. They took the boat out to a lake and ran it. It took on water but they found the problem. The factory failed to seal the top cap onto the hull at the rear transom. They sealed it and we haven't had a problem since. Bottom line, it was Rangers fault.

I'd buy one and keep it in my building like my 2015 Phoenix that still looks new and I took care of installing an automotive seal on the rear facing battery compartment to keep backwash water out of on occasion. And then added 3m 4200 to the rear sides where it was missed by the fine Tenn. craftsmen causing water to enter there too. Then on day one of brand new ownership first startup water was pissing on my foot before shifting it into gear. Yes, I asked the dealer to upgrade my graphs and the installer didn't add a small zip tie to the water line on the water pressure gauge. I had to remove the dash since Phoenix builds a sealed one piece console with a weep hole for water to exit and piss on your foot for good luck. I love the boat and they all need care even high dollar ones. Thanks Wisco. Team

I'll give you an 8.5 on the new hair cut because the barber left too much on top! Next time get a #1 cut. It'll leave you with about 1/8" of stubble and you'll save $$$ on cuts. I get mine cut 4 times a year. Ikon went way above for any boat manufacture. I live close to Ranger, (about 8 miles), Triton (same the other way), Bass Cat (again, about the same), and that other Ranger by another name. I've never heard of any of them going to this extent with a customer. Good job Ikon! Here's a question for you. I bought what I thought was a Suzuki 200SS and ended up with the DF200. I tried to get the problem straightened out with the dealer I bought it from, but it came to, let's say, I didn't have the $2,500 for bail so I walked out. I called Suzuki's customer service line and talked to a rep which turned out to be a great guy and he told me the DF and the SS are the same power head and the SS lower unit wasn't preforming to their specs, and they discontinued it and replace it with the DF lower in the 20" size. Is it true that the DF200A and the 200SS are the same power head? Oh, by the way, he (the rep) did get me hooked up with a great shop who is now sitting my boat / engine the right way and I happy with the work the new shop is doing.

Sounds to me like Ikon did the right thing, but they have an unreasonable customer. My local dealer, Dalton Marine, here in Dalton, GA just became an Ikon dealer. White River isn't happy with them as they are the oldest continuous Ranger dealer in the country. They have a couple in their showroom and I have crawled around in them. An Ikon is what Vexus could, and should have, been. Ikon started from scratch and built a boat with lots of innovation, instead of building a better Ranger, which is what Vexus did.

I've Ranger Z520. Outside. Covered as well as fender covers. No matter what you do there will be water somewhere. As long as you wash and protect it'll last. if left uncovered your elevator doesn't leave the ground floor.

After watching how Icon went beyond the extra mile, if I could afford one, I would 1000% buy one. I store my ZXR21 in my garage, and didn’t bother opening the lids to air out the compartments after fishing in heavy rain. Two weeks go by, and I decide to restring some reels…imagine my surprise when I opened the rod lockers to find mold as well as standing water. D’oh! Note to self: Always, always, ALWAYS air out compartments even after a light drizzle

My hunch is that the guy isnt stupid, I think he had buyer's remorse and wished he'd gone with the 20 instead of the 21. That was my first thought as soon as you said he wanted to swap for a 20. The new hull they put on for a completely unrelated issue was...impressive. Some manufacturers you have to fight for a new hull on a warranty related issue and these guys threw a new one on for something that wasnt even their fault or problem...

Hey I have a pool that when I take the cover off it get leafs in it. You think I can exchange it for a new one? It has to be a manufacturer's defect.

Ikon should replace his boat… with a 1993 tracker because that’s all he’s capable of “taking care” of. Guy is clearly trying to take advantage of them.

No way I'd store a boat like that outside, mine want close to that, and it has its own spot in the shop, even at the lake on the trailer, it's got the tarp on it, the hull replacement is AWESOME, and it wasn't even asked about, great company!!!

looked at the ICON boats during the 2024 Classic. One of the best built boats in the industry. from the electronics hookups to the hull design. ICON must have spent a fortune on tooling. Great product.

There is a 99 champion 203 with a 225 merc for sale near me for 10k seems like it’s in good shape but the transom needs replacing. Is it worth taking on? How much should I expect to pay to have the transom rebuilt?

Store the boat level and in a shop. Move if you have to to level ground.

lol I wish I was treated that way by Ranger…or my dealer…😂 my dealer won’t even schedule me 😂😂😂 I’ve had to fix all my issues on my brand new boat from the day I drove it off the lot. No help from my dealer, no help from ranger. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ I saved for 10 years to buy a boat, and bought it with cash. A brand new 2021 198p…I feel like they treat me like I bought a candy bar in the store. If I was on a 12 year payment plan buying the boat 3x over they would fix my issues. All I want is my motor and jackplate lowered, and my welds smoothed out so I can get on plane and goooo But nope….guess I’ll just go 43mph because I plow water in the front cuz I have 1/4 thick welds and a jackplate and motor mounted too high….thanks everyone! I have a Phoenix 721 that Is outside and covered. Where I park it is a slight angle for driveway drainage. Water will collect below the battery charger as that is the low side and about 3/4". If its gonna sit for more than a few weeks, I back it up on a 2x12 on that side and all the water drains to bilge and out the plug hole. It's not a manufacturer defect, just the laws of physics. It takes about 5 minutes to install a cover..

I haven't dealt with Ikon, but it sure seems to me that they have gone way above and beyond in the customer service area. Some people will never be happy, though. I kept my boat outside for 9 months with the cover on while my pole barn was being built and never had any water issues.

I get it if you can’t afford indoor storage for a boat etc. Probably shouldn’t buy a $100K+ boat but that’s his business. That being said any of us who own a boat know if you don’t cover your boat or if you store the boat outside, guess what water will get in your boat. I know that’s mind blowing. Another mind blowing statement, we all know even if you cover the boat that doesn’t 100% protect your boat from getting some water in it. Again mind blowing I know. He also seems like the person we all know who wants to find a reason the complain. My head hurts thinking through the logic of this dude’s issue.

Some people will never be happy no matter what you do. Sometimes it's better to just let them go.

I have a 32 year old Ranger that I store inside plus a cover on it. It boils down to just taking proper care.

I don't like ikons at all, would have no interest in one. Getting water in it because its being stored outside is 100% on the person who bought the boat. I know of a few guys that are like that with boats. Never satisfied with anything done on their boat unless they did it. Its also done incorrectly when they do it

I figure the Ikon owner uses some kind of chocking to keep his boat from rolling downhill when he disconnects from his tow vehicle. What isn’t mentioned is does he try to level out his boat by lowering the nose of his boat using his trailer tongue Jack. I don’t have a covered place to store my boat, so I had a custom cover made that keeps my boat bone dry when it rains. Personal opinion here is that the owner has more money than sense! Besides, if he can afford a $130K boat he should be able to afford $5 or 6K to have a place made level for a concrete pad to park his boat on! If I can do it I know he can and my boat cost nowhere near as much as his Ikon!!!

When someone pays the amount of money they charge for a product, people expect they're money worth. The customer just doesn't understand about boats but boats are overpriced but after 2 or 3 years uncovered that 130k boat will look just like the 40k boat, oxidized, seats cracked and carpet weathered.

Not everyone can park their boats inside, i dont. I do leave a cover on it all the time so the sun doesnt cook the seats

Dude need an enclosed utility trailer type box over his boat trailer. I know there used to be a company that made them...dont know if they still make them, but that sounds like what he needs.

My xpress holds water in the back bilge and can't drain out because of the transom knees i have to suck it out with a vacuum its a pain in the ass. If i leave it lots of moisture stays in back compartments and wiring.

I think this guy is storing his 100k+ boat outside next to his Motor home….If ANY company sends specialists out to my house to find the root problem, they’d have my loyalty for life.

I know a guy that spent $146k for an Ikon and Ikon had to come and get it. Excuse was they had some bad hulls. 3 months later, he gets his boat back. They guy was ooh baby give me more Ikon ikon ikon.

I've been self-employed for 25 years and there's certain people no matter what you do they are not happy people and you cannot make them happy no matter how good your product or your services. The reason ikon probably put a new hull on that guy's boat is because after they found the ding they knew the guy would probably blame them for it. They should have looked that boat over before they took it off the guy's property.

I forgot to say that the boat that the DF200 was placed on is a 1998 Skeeter ZX202dc (20') and so far, they've got it up to 62 - 63 mph and they're still playing with props to try for 67 - 68 like the Yamaha 200 HPDI - 2 stroke the DF200 is replacing.

The complaint from the owner is the equivalent of “I bought a 130k boat and it won’t catch fish”. Guess what bud, you got to do your part. You have to attempt to keep water out and then properly store and care for it. “The boat” can’t keep water out and……. it can’t catch your fish.
