Olivia Reeves and the rest of Team USA have arrived in Sofia, Bulgaria to compete at the European Championships and are looking good!.
In this episode we watch Olivia Reeves lift heavy, Emily Campbell snatch and back squat, Chris Murray drop down into his new weight category, Antonino 'Nino' Pizzolato build up to an easy 200kg clean and jerk, Solfrid Koanda hit a massive snatch, Mohammed Ozbek go big, and Loredana Toma remind us of her snatching strength.

I am sure glad that Reeves is American. She is an off the charts natural talent. I know she trains hard, but I think she brought a great set of genes to the platform. Once in a lifetime talent.

Great to see you in Bulgaria, Can't wait for Carlos - Nino duel, it will be epic. Ham was a monster in the 61 kg - 16 kilos over the champion and was so close to make those 173 for the record, he will be force in the Olympics.

Man, I know you must be incredibly busy commentating, but I really wish your blogs were more fleshed out. Unfortunately it looks like we might never get the level of depth and attention we got at the 2021 worlds in Uzbekistan, that was proper immersion. Training hall footage is nice but it's not the same.

Because the Pan American championships took place in Caracas, Venezuela. The two countries do not have good relations, as the US Department of State considered Venezuela a danger to the security of its citizens. Politics.

PanAms are being hosted in Venezuela, which is operating under what is essentially a dictatorship and is in a state of crisis. The US DOS has Venezuela listed as level 4 which is Do Not Travel, the highest possible warning level. So they can't exactly send athletes there with government funding while simultaneously advising all American citizens to avoid traveling there.

I believe he got injured after competing in worlds in 2022. His total at worlds in 2022 was so high that he is currently ranked 4th in the 102s. So he doesn't really need to compete anyways, he is almost guaranteed a spot at the Olympics. He has put in an entry for the world cup in April so we may see him compete. Honestly I was hoping he would break the 102 snatch standard, though we will probably see. He also became an engineer before worlds in 2022 so that's cool.

@@thorthewolf8801i think they more so mean that they hope Olivia puts up a performance good enough for China not to send any athletes in this category period, since they can only send three female lifters to the Olympics and it’s going to be a tough competition across athletes of all categories (dominance wise)

@@josephfeliciano6415Thats why I asked the commenter to provide a name that they would send instead of her. She can still do ~120/150, which is still roughly a comfortable 10kg ahead of Reeves, who did ~115/145. My question remains the same, who would have a better chance at gold than Guifang that they wouldnt send her, but somebody else?
