I'm very impressed with it so far and I really like the flexibility to use it in either warm or cold weather which was exactly what I was looking for. If you're looking for some head protection for outdoor activities give the M-216 a look, I think you'll like it.

Yeah it’s a solid helmet with wide range of applications. Used for snowboarding and GoPro even.

Did you find a metal insert to replace the plastic one?

I did not, there a few Chinese versions that I’ve found but I’ve been using the plastic with no problem. Just have extra dummy cords for whatever I have attached

Can you mount a picatinny rail on the side rails? I think it would be awesome to mount a Surefire X300 on my helmet for night skiing.

Yes you can they have accessory rails you can purchase

Looks like their latest version of the M-216 helmet doesn't use Zorbium foam anymore, just rubbish EPS foam. I wonder why; maybe to just pass outdated standards from the 70s. I'd rather decent protection myself.

So I have been looking at this helmet for winter use, but I can't find anything about goggle compatibility with it. Have you had any go's at trying to find goggles or any info on what would be best fit?

I have some Scott goggles I wear with it. Don’t remember the model. It has a goggle strap retainer on the back so they don’t slide or come off.

Hey, please take this as a helpful criticism. When you’re facing the camera it seems like you’re looking at yourself in an LCD or on a monitor (past the camera). It makes the video feel a little disconnected. Try to look into the lens which will make it feel more like you’re talking to each viewer. :) I promise I send this with the utmost positivity. Great videos, so keep it up.

Have you tried this helmet in warmer conditions than skiing yet? Thinking about also using this as a E board helmet in the off season.

I have, I have a GoPro mount on the front. The ear pieces are removable
