van life videos are bs if presented as alternative living, esp re finances. "hate paying rent? just van life it!" is a sure fire quick path to homelessness ...for those without privileged means ...for those desperate enough to take any advice at all off tiktok. it's grifting poors for tiktok clout. i've a real problem with all that. there are ways to "alternative live" ofc (absolutely), but conan's not even considering those with priveledged means. he's straight up punching down on perceived poors, "just shitting in buckets".

I have a very good friend who grew up in a commune with a composting toilet. Needless to say, she doesnt go camping and she cannot listen to the Beatles ever again. People think raising their kids this way teaches them certain things... mostly it just become a unique kind of resentment for them to share with their therapist later.

Does Conan know that people currently live in storage units in America who have lost their homes or have been evicted from their apartments. This is the state of our economy today. Sorry to be a downer, but that is what I thought the video was about when I saw the title of this video. I knew Conan would never be that insensitive. This was in keeping with Conan’s sense of the absurd. 🙂

Haha yeah tbh I was listening to the podcast on spotify, felt it came across slightly overboard with one too many jokes about the poop bucket and his house being a shithole and his wife having to put uo with the terrible conditions oof. Reilly was super nice and took his humour in stride (as most conan fans know about him poking fun at people) but if it was on a different person with a more defensive personality it could've been quite difficult to get through lmao.
