In this video, we explore Sao Paulo's metro station to see if it is cleaner and better than the NYC train stations.
During the tour of Sao Paulo, Brazil we ask which train/metro system is better. The SP train station, although is only 30 years old, is very modern and comfortable.
We also checked out Casa das Rosas in Avenida Paulista Sao Paulo, a garden in the middle of this beautiful giant city. We take a look at the Sao Paulo skyline which is beautiful, compared to New York is a hard choice if you were looking for a place to live.
The city of Sao Paulo is much larger than NYC and is also very modern.

Se vc morasse um tempo aqui nos EUA vc ia ver que eh cheio de problemas tb, o que muda eh que nao tem corrupção, menor criminalidade, mas tb nao eh perfeito. It must be a crazy feeling to think you are carrying sometimes thousands (?) Of people at once , you take them to their work and home, you connect them with people. I work with telecommunications and somehow is similar in a way :)

It is written "Casa das Rosas" in Portuguese, it's no "Casa de las Rosas" in Spanish. There is a difference. In Brazil, we speak Portuguese.

Podem falar mas Sao Paulo , com todos seus problemas, é um orgulho de mostrar pros gringos. Muitas vezes o pessoal pensa que o Brasil todo é um matagal com animais e vilas e se espanta com o tamanho e modernidade da cidade. Quem vive em Sao Paulo( e.outras grandes capitais) nao se espanta tanto com a maioria das grandes cidades do mundo!

Não era de se esperar menos, com o enorme investimento que a cidade (O Estado todo na vdd) teve na Era Vargas em comparação com o resto do Brasil (que ficou atrasado) principalmente o Norte e Nordeste, tinha que fazer a cidade se destacar.

Cavalo Silva Não foi ironia não, o Brasil é sim uma bosta, mas há coisas como em São Paulo pelos menos que estão iguais ou até melhores do que muitas coisas aqui, o que fode o Brasil são alguns brasileiros pertencentes a castas dos ‘espíritos de porcos’, e a falta de leis e ordem nunca auxiliará na mudança. Nos Estados Unidos se não ouve leis duras isso aqui seria no mínimo mil vez pior do que qualquer país de terceiro mundo!!! Portanto o Brasil é graças uma parte da população impedido de ser grande, condições tem, e muito.

Brazilians r one of the cleanest people in the world: 2 to 5 baths a day, brush teeth after every single meal, they never touch their food with hand, they always use a paper or napkin so they don't touch the food.

I'm Brazilian, from São Paulo and live in New York. New York has been my home for 28 years now and I love this city, but the subway system in São Paulo is the BEST in the world, hands down!

Adalberto, I can sympathize with you. NYC is a large system and is hard to maintain, I think countries working together can provide help to others about the maintenance and upkeep. The subway in New York is a nightmare! Too bad you have to use it to get around. I rode the subway in Sao Paulo, and it's very nice. It's clean, quiet, reliable, and safe.

TeamKLoWhat I am from Campos dos Goytacazes city, north of Rio de Janeiro state. Ive been to New York city twice, great city by the way. I loved it, it was in New York city where I saw snow for the first time in my life and felt what cold really is. Great experience. NY has a similar bustling feeling to São Paulo. What is something always fascinating to feel in my opinion. My city isn’t so big!

Idem. Pessoas reclamando dele falar espanhol. Ninguém é obrigado a saber a língua nativa do país que está visitando, já é super válido o fato dele estar tentando se comunicar. Nunca vi americano reclamando de pessoas tentando falar inglês, eles até acham o máximo, mesmo que mal consigam entender. Só brasileiro que tem mania de falar "Sorry for my bad english", eles nem ligam pra isso. Espanhol tem a mesma origem do Português, não há nada de errado em alguém tentar conversar com a gente em Espanhol, faz muito mais sentido, inclusive.

não conheço o de Nova York, mas ja usei o metro de Paris e Lisboa. Metro de Sao Paulo com certeza é muito bom.. bem limpo e com bastante acessibilidade. O de Paris é sofrido a acessibilidade...um monte de tuneis, tem estações que não tem elevador ou escada rolante p pessoas que tem dificuldade de locomoção. o que é bom a gente tem que elogiar né? I've ridden the subways in Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, London, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, Boston, and New York. The New York subway is by far the worst one in the world. It's dirty, infested with rats, slow, and unreliable.

@@anajuliaregissarmento7574 O grande problema aqui é quanto aos ambulantes e tbm há muitos casos de excesso dos seguranças do metrô e da CPTM, o salário deles no geral não deve ser dos melhores junte superlotação, ambulantes, bêbados e um mal treinamento sem assistência psicológica devida e o resultado é os muitos casos de agressão física por parte dos seguranças. Agora quanto a informação é assistência aos estrangeiros os seguranças no geral são bons

I live in Sao Paulo but have been to NY a few times and I must say that, even though you guys have really dirty subway stations and trains, it works much better than here. Waaaay more lines and NY is smaller than SP, plus it works 24/7

"Leftest" aside from few social issues like same sex marriage and abortion the Democratic politicians who run major U.S. cities are indistinguishable from Republicans. They hand out billions in subsidies to wealthy developers, billions in tax brakes to wealthy developers, and tax loop holes for wealthy developers so big ou can drive a oil tanker though them. It's all branding, public realtions , there is minimal difference the Republican party and the Democratic Party. From the county commissions, to the city halls, to the state houses, to D.C. everything is run on contracts for kickbacks, subsidies for kickbacks, and tax loop holes for bribes no matter what party is in control, furthermore aside from New Mexico, all of the top ten states for the highest poverty rates, teen pregnancy rates, sexually transmitted diseases, high school drop out rates, drug use rates, and divorce rates are run by Republicans.

Wow, so nice of you to show a bit of São Paulo, and I am glad to see you liked it. We do have a lot of problems here in Brazil, but all in all, it is a great country with some great people in it. The Metro system in SP really is spotless. I used it every week on a daily basis when I lived there and, aside from some rare delays from nonsensical people doing nonsensical stuff, it was as smooth an experience as one could ask for. Public transportation, in general, is much, muuuuuch better in Brazil than in most of the other countries in the world, mainly due to the prices of motorized vehicles being too expensive here. If you ever come to the state of São Paulo again, please, visit some of our beaches. I live in the city of Santos, it’s only a 50 minute drive from SP and (in my very biased opinion) it’s one of the best cities in the whole country. Very beautiful (but not that clean) beach with a huge garden, nice and chill people and a lot of history to explore, from the historical center to the biggest port in Latin America. There is also the northern coast of SP, which has some of the most beautiful and relaxing beaches in the country outside of the northeastern region. You can explore it all in 1-2 days if you’re in a rush, but I’d recommend that you take some time to get to know everything. Around 4 days in Santos than 1-2 days in each beach. Enjoy our country, you’ll always be very welcome! We love foreigners! And thanks again for the video! All the love from Brazil!

em São Paulo, se algum banco, joalheiria, etc for assaltado (geralmente durante a noite), normalmente em menos de 24h o lugar está funcionando perfeitamente denovo. se um carro do metrô dá problema, algo assim, em 5min eles trazem um carro novo, perfeitamente limpo e friozinho. os trens são limpos e complexos É POR ISSO QUE EU AMO SP♥️

Yes, São Paulo metro/subway is clean, good, fast and all, but just too small for the size of the city. New York subway is about 4 times bigger. NYC subway stations look old and dirty by comparison, but they were built in early 20th century. Subway cars in NYC are ok, and also have air conditioning. The stations, though, can get very hot in the summer. Time between trains varies a lot in São Paulo depending on the line, week day and hour. It can go from 10 minutes down to 10 seconds on hush hours.

I'm brazilian and I never knew the underground in the big cities of the US were so crappy, I am from Salvador, and the underground here is INCREDIBLY clean, I've never seen a rat or a cockroach around the stations, and the inside of the train is in pristine condition as well.

O metrô de Tokio também é superlotado, porém tem muito mais linhas por lá e isso reduz um pouco mas ainda assim compete com São Paulo no quesito ser muito cheio, esse e um problema de cidades muito populosas em geral.

Marcelo, thanks for the observation. I think is about being PROUD!! In the US many believe is other's responsibility to "clean up after them" thus they do not really take care of the environment. I hope this is something that can spread world wide.. Have you been to the US?

The reason the metro was so fast is because you were going “sentido bairro” (translation: out of the centre to the suburbs) during peak rush hour (5-8pm). Bem-vindo a São Paulo my friend!

TeamKLoWhat Hey! I was born and live in São Paulo! I take the metro every day to school (Linha 4 Amarela). The line I take (4-Yellow) has all its cars with no conductors and it’s the most technologically advanced line in the entire subway system. Hope you get to check it out! Furthermore, it’s one of the few lines who is actually classified as “metro”, as most of the other ones are classified as train (CPTM). Great vids and uploads! Keep it up!
