Ridiculous! I've been watching this sport since 1970 and all the people with the brains and talent have retired long ago. NASCAR is a corporate joke, the cars look ridiculous. The grandstands are more empty every week. Go back and watch the videos from the Nashville Network back in the 90's and the people respected in the sport said it would not recover from this slide.@@sleepysxb7710

Nascar has been at a decline for many years. Disrespecting former racers is a lack of respect. The young punks that disrespect the the individual are woosies. Stage racing is punk approved and takes the strategy out of the sport.

It’s a Daytona only event during “speed week” that determines the positions of drivers, for the race on Sunday who didn’t get the two fastest spots during qualifying. One of the only times during the race year that additional races outside of the qualifiers that sets up the field

Daytona has done Dual Qualifying since 1959 as part of Speed Week. Admittedly there have been some tweaks over the years but it is a tradition that allows teams to race to get in when their initial qualifying times were garbage. It’s all part of it.

I know the first few comments are from newbies. Does anyone remember when these were done on Thurs"day" you could listen on the radio if you were at work or be there or be off work that day and watch it on tv the stands were packed for a duel during the day.

And they use to be called the Uno Twin 125's and were only 50 laps until the cars started getting better fuel mileage and some were able to race all 50 laps without making a pit stop so they added 25 miles.
