If you can't afford Dragoon you can easily splash the artifact engine in the deck. Instead of popping an opponent's monster with rusty you just pop your own scythe for an extra deck lock.

Question: I'm not running the Dragoon combo so at the end of your first combo who would be an optimal choice to Link/XYZ summon instead of Verte/Dragoon?
