The best is at 9:00 when you can see the gears turning in Ageojoe's head whether to pat Yipes on the back or not, and to this credit Yipes just laughs and doesn't get upset about it.

It's nice to see someone that looks like they are genuinely having fun just playing the game, even at a big tournament.

I have never seen Kusoru lossing. He's probably the most powerfull UMVC3 and he goes with low ter charaters. My respects you got young Kusoru.

Great match from both players! I'd take these characters any day over Mags, Doom, Morrigan, etc. I don't know if Joe was being friendly or playing the heel with the pat on the back, pointing to the camera at the end, and pumping his fists to the crowd at the end of game 2, but I loved it. Great sportsmanship from Yipes too. I laughed out loud at 8:35. Great job from the commentators this set.

I think we can all use this for tips in home defense. Remember: Giant Log > Robot arm, Samurai Sword, and a Bow and Arrow

Oreo's RR is good no doubt but his best stuff is the Dante/RR combo with things like Double Shot assist -> Stinger -> Teleport or air H for mix ups and the Million Dollars -> Trap DHC -> Hard tag Dante -> Volcano -> Million Dollars. He 'spams' the assist a hell of a lot with RR, it's just a different assist. But equally important to his team as the log trap. I think people give him a pass because he hasn't really done much at majors and a good Dante is fun to watch by default.

kusoru's log trap + dive kick is really a ground air mix up. All players compartmentalize ground game and air game but the log can hit both places at the same time..........

Are you FOR REAL?! AgeoJoe's team has evolved so much since this tournament. He doesn't even have to use THCs to level up Frank. This combination of characters is "up there" I don't think he can beat Morri Doom though, but he has a sub character for when Frank or Joe won't cut it I believe.

In the second round kusoru paniced you can tell by the traps he got on yipes but I notice he was afraid to engage and when he did he would screw up as you saw that assist is what beats everyone u can't counter it u have to block take the whole screen and if you notice he gets hit reguardless where he is, he has to block besides the assist kusoru knows how to use RR yipes did well too. They both have ops RR vs Vergil

Interesting that they say MVC2 didn't take off in Japan. Here in London i only know of one MVC2 machine - and its in Japanese. Makes it hard to pick assists unless you have memorised teh order in which tehy appear for your particular characters.

I can't help but agree with you. All I kept getting paired up with in Street Fighter 4 was Hadouken Spammers. It's boring as frelling hell to watch, especially when there's no "recharge" for projectiles. They can just leap away and keep firing it at you, chipping away at you endlessly. Probably why I stopped playing Capcom fighters and returned to Soul Calibur: Far more strategy, lots more in-close combat, very few projectiles.

After watching this a few more times, I think it's notable to say that Kusoru is at least somewhat predictable in his log traps with Joe. He does it during every single Red Hot Kick and when Joe is at the apex of his triple jump; it seems to be completely muscle memory because he does it in a few risky spots too. The pattern is very consistent and if someone could get the timing down it might be punishable.

Whenever any type of new technology is discovered to be in this game, people always wave the "op needz nerf" banner. I mean let the game evolve and most likely you'll find a way around it. Look at wesker, we've played against him so much that hes not so scary in lvl 3 x-factor anymore.
