COMBO BREAKER is a community-driven conventions, shows, and apparel brand dedicated to competitive fighting games. Established in 2015 by the Hadou and Gaming Generations, COMBO BREAKER has grown into an international brand name for fighting game fans from all corners of the genre. Growing up in Mexico it was always clear to me that KOF was a game rooted in our hearts. Its awesome to see a mexican vs mexican grand finals. Felicidades a Pako por llegar a la final en winners y a Tamago por llevarse el primer lugar!

I never knew KOF was an important game in Mexico. Where I live, there isn't too much of a KOF scene, everybody mostly plays Smash and Mortal Kombat. But there are lots of amazing Smash players from Mexico, too. Maybe Mexicans are just amazing at videogames. And congratulations to all the amazing players made it to top 8 in this tournament!

Fantastic top 8, the loyal players and the recent patch made this such a fun tournament to watch. I'm really enjoying the knowledgeable broadcasters as a new KOF fan since 15 released, and I hope SNK continues to tune the game with proper balance. Thanks Team Spooky for bringing it to us.

Two things I loved: 1. Arsalan Ash Vs Tamago .... that game gave me a heart attack. 2. That guy in the middle of the two commentators, sitting with hands crossed and glasses THE WHOLE FREAKING GAME. Awesome.

@@NeoKurow I'm not from the States, i'm actually from Mexico and i do believe Reynald is as good as everyone thinks. There aren't many Mexican players that can beat him regularly, even El Rosa trades wins with him and he can also goes toe to toe with some of the best from the world. Is he the best player ? no, but it doesn't surprise me whenever he lands a top 3 in any tournament.

This game's quality is actually poor. The really players previous champions such as M, Xiaohai, ET, can't come because of the quarantine policy in their country. By the way,Xiaohai can beat ALL of them easily. You probably don't know . From March to June, all the Japanese & Korea champions including ET, M' ZJZ, unite together to challenge Xiao hai, they lost Everytime, all together about 12 times! Then the platform and supporter applied limitations rules on Xiaohai, for example, he must choose female characters, or one of the characters must be a question mark, he still won every time.. A single player beat the army of them.

The habit of Arslan's back dashing(from tekken) in kof costs him a lot of hits. He needs to work on changing that habit in kof.

Arslans started with kof which is why he has good execution..Problem wasn't backdashing..It was him not knowing the matchups. Which is why he was backdashing much

Actually many times already if you see previous matches. @JustWoo LOL you probably don't know xiaohai's income is more than 250000 USD every year. Such a good tournament. I really wanted Pako to win because he's such a unique characters specialist but Tamago had the stronger team and played really well. Props to both of them for repping for that mexican KoF supremacy!

@@Zerog65 I think SNK are just afraid to have Angel like 2002 vanilla again, but they already got rid of her infinites and plus on block full screen super, I don't see the problem buffing her a bit more. I feel like every season, all the underperforming characters (except Ramon probably) are gonna get small buffs at a time to multiple moves to not suddenly get someone overpowered by accident. There's so much character variety in this Combo Breaker Top 8. I have confidence that SNK knows what they're doing and we'll see Angel again soon. (RIP Kukri though.)

He was strong before the patch it's just that VRT was running house and now he's more buffed so he's like a really strong character imo.

@@saadhasan2518 I think 214K not as good as 2002/UM really hurt him and exposed his range problems. The jump arc buff was exactly what he needed (and more). It's kinda funny how VRT+Gato were given slap on the wrist nerfs (and Dolores was destroyed RIP Dolores) and now everyone's back to playing their favorites...

Some random cafe or corner store in their areas will have a classic KOF unit because Neo-Geo cabs were pretty inexpensive (and sometimes, bootlegged for even cheaper). Usually 2002. So a lot of people grew up being KOF fans.

The old neogeo cabinets were very cheap and you used to be able to play all the games from SNK with just one Neo Geo and it was also very easy to Pirate so they just started popping up all over Central America

In latam the Neo Geo cabinets were very popular. Not only cheaper, they also had the possibility to choose the language, so people could understand the story of the game. Here in Brazil everybody knew the tragic story of Orochi Iori in the late 90's, early 2000

Every time I see sticks used for input in any fast paced fighters, man, I never stop wondering why aside from learning the game exclusively on arcade machines. Each directional input has to return to center to do opposite input and that has to waste so much time vs using a split-dpad where all directions are right under your one thumb.
