Today I'm covering the excellent Mors Longa mod for Teardown, which effectively turns the game into a lite-milsim survival game.

Modder's never cease to amaze me. Mors Longa is pretty much exactly what I wanted from Teardown. I'm so glad I stumbled across it.

I really don't get why people say teardown has the "best" destruction engine when it literally doesn't even have support simulation. As long as a building is connected to the ground by one tiny little block, it won't fall. It is completely outclassed by red faction guerilla, a game from over a decade ago.

Yeah I'll give you that. If there is one aspect of Teardowns destruction that leaves something to be desired, it would be that. But the fact that the engine supports debris fragmenting into any shape/form is still beyond impressive imo. There are also mods that add support simulation, but I've not personally tried or tested any of those.

Theres also the fire simulation the Game has, which, whit it's smoke sim and destruction sim, is incredibly realistic, but yeah, the support stuff tends to break the inmertion rather usually

you can also fly the helicopters if they do not get to damaged and if the pilot manages to land the helicopter

Sweet! Thanks for sharing! I wasn't sure if you could or not, the only time I ever managed to get into one that landed, it was out of fuel 😂

Can you make a video about you playing mors longa? I've been searching and trying to see other people's reaction when they play Mors Longa. I literally spent 300 hours playing this mod!

Damn that's a lot of hours! I'm currently gathering footage for another project atm, but while I can't promise anything, I'll definitely be keeping up with the mod and it's development, so maybe sometime in the not too distant future! Thanks for the suggestion!

did it get broken with the latest game update? having a lot of issues with the mod now

I just spent 11 hours playing this mod non stop! But it always states to lag my pc around 8.5km in, can't get above 20 fps :(

Yeah I have FPS issues too once I get past about 8km or so. I found a good workaround is to open the debug menu and Remove all NPCs (Middle of the menu, at the top iirc). It'll clean up all the corpses and enemies around you should give you significantly more frames. I suggest doing it when everything around you is relatively quiet, so you don't end up removing NPCs about to jump you 😀 They'll continue to spawn as you drive down the highway, so doing that every once and a while will let you get very very far. Longest I've made it so far is 25000+ 😁 Hope that helps!

@@BoardAndConfused thank you! This really helped! After clearing an area out I would use the Remove all NPCs button and my frames would go from 20 ish to 60! Thank you!
