Hi, guys. Welcome back to today’s video.
Today, ChargerLAB is gonna take apart this Lenovo LEGION 135W charger, which can support Lenovo private protocol for the latest Y9000 series.
If you’re the user of the latest Lenovo laptop that can support 135W charging and want to find a smaller charger to replace the original one, you can consider this charger.

Nice video! Surely they could have used a smaller rectifier though, 25A seems a bit excessive haha. (Though a smaller one may have needed more of a heatsink)

Could you measure the signal resistor in the C-slim tip cable head between the central pin and the shroud? Should be 1 kΩ (or 550 Ω but that would suck).

hi charger web, recently im looking fora type c charger for my legion 8th generation that can support pd legion up to 140 watt, i wanna ask is there4 any significant diffrence among the 5 wattt between the 135 c and 140 c in terms for performance and daily gaming?

I use this charger and it has coil whine when working on high wattage, but it work pretty well to power my laptop. I wonder which part that make noise? Is that bad for long term?

Does it deliver 135w at 110v equally to 220v connections? Because the 140w new one is kind of capped to 100w if using a 110v, I’m in North America so I’m thinking if this is actually better for my 110v situation 😩

5:48 110 milliohm but the rectifier at 7:00 is only 1.7? I must be out of touch with the times but I've never heard of on resistance that low

Checked the datasheet, it is actually 1.7mOhm. Can do 27.5A continuous as well

Yes, and actually slower charging is better. Less heat and stress on the battery.

Yes, you can do that. The maximum power always depends on the phone's capabilities, not the charger's.

Yes. But 135W cannot support the peak performance.

Would you know other brand offering this? 20V 6.75A. I see baseus with 140W but they use 28V not 20V, so if laptop needs 20V its still stuck to 5A or 100W.. (Or am i wrong with this lol) Anyway looking for affordable higher wattage GaN. This one not available on my country it seems.

Lenovo 135W (20V 6.75A) is the proprietary protocol. So, other brands charger won't support it.

It's designed to only be used for the laptop it goes with. It's not supposed to be a multi output charger.

Backwards compatibly/upgradability to current gen and older Lenovo gaming laptops. Users can now upgrade to a smaller GaN based charging brick.

@@Rainings that’s why they included two cables. The one with the yellow tip is for older ones, the Type C to Type C is for newer.

@@andyk192 I do not follow. When somebody makes a mistake, you point it out so they could fix them. How are you sure he knows? And even if he does, we have to assume he does not because he has made that mistake. Point it out, even if he knows, you tried to help him, there is nothing wrong with that. If he doesn't, then you've added something to a person for which you will be remembered. I think that is as nice as it gets for both parties.
