Do you happen to know if the rulon material works better with light greasing as carbontex does? @@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL Grease on the rulon washers makes them slip too much. It'll greatly reduce the amount of drag pressure you have in the reel.

Hey kalle! Sounds good! I should have a short term review of the reel coming out soon but I have a few other videos I need to get out as well. Just to give you a heads up though, overall I like the reel. It casts wonderfully and it really does have a great aesthetic. Hey earl! They’re actually fixing the issue at the factory so the reel can still be considered an 11+1 reel. For those that have bought them they’ll send replacement bearings or will take the reel back. Glad I was able to catch this before it continued with their production… cheers my friend!!!

Hey frank! Thanks for the kind words my friend! I was able to get some testing with lures around the 4-7g mark and it cast them admirably. You may need to add just a tad of spool tension but it casts wonderfully. As for the lower weights, at least there is always the option to be able to cast them =). Cheers my friend!

Hey bubble! Yea… that was a bit of an odd feature to have and I just had to inquire about it. It does make the reel feel more balanced in hand compared to the millionaire which feels lopsided and very handle side heavy. To answer your question about the pinion support yes it indeed has 2 bearings supporting the pinion. I’ve seen this become more and more common amongst reels and is a very good feature to see. Finally, yes I have seen the gravity bfs! An interesting reel for sure and I will likely be looking at one in the future. That being said, you could say it is a sister reel to the arise air and was co-developed with Haibo. I think we can expect to see the exact same great performance out of the gravity as we have seen from the arise air. Hope that helps and cheers my friend!

Hey Elo! Thanks so much for the kind words and I’m glad you are finding good knowledge and value out of the videos! To answer your question, I would say it all depends on what you want out of a reel. If you want the round profile then there’s really only one choice. Both reels cast very well but I think I give the edge to the arise air. Additionally, the arise air is on sale right now and I think you can get it for under $100. There are some downsides to the arise air though in that the adjustable rotor requires removing the side plate before being able to make adjustments so if you change weights a lot then you might want either a second setup or you’ll just have to put up with having to remove the side plate. Either way both reels cast extremely well as does your Acura pro. I do want to let you know though I know of one person’s tendershoot spool that had the magnetic inductor plate fall off due to poor adhesion. Dankung is saying all of their new stock has an updated design and I believe they will replace any defective spools but I am not sure if aliexpress vendors will do the same. I don’t imagine many folks will have their tendershoot spool break on them though and it may have just been a one off but for whatever reason the QC just doesn’t seem to be exactly on point with the tendershoot. That being said, it’s a very fun reel to fish and cast as is the arise air. Sorry I know that might not help too much with your answer but I hope it helped give you a better idea of what the reels are like? In any case, curious to know what you decide to go with and cheers my friend!

I did not reach out to dankung so far but I was wondering that they did not message me in advance. I will reach out to them today, lets see. Furthermore I got 3 major concernes with my reel: 1. The main shaft has some room for play. 2. The line guide is very wobbley and almost feels like it is not safely attached. 3. The Thumbbar is very wobbley and fells like breaking very easily. I wanted to ask if you have the same impressions on yours? I am aware that they try to produce a budget round reel but all in all I am a bit disappointed. Kind regards.

@@Stickofix hey stick! Hmm… it’s a bit odd that they haven’t reached out to you. I suggest reaching out to them regarding the bearings. I’m sure they’ll get to you but it never hurts to reach out yourself. As far as your concerns: -my copy did not have main shaft movement on the axis of the main shaft. There was the tiniest movement laterally though likely due to some slop in tolerance of the anti reverse bearing. You can help alleviate this by potentially using a small amount of tape to help the friction fit if the bearing in the main gear side plate. -the line guide being wobbly is something that I see on all manner of reels. My Aldebaran has a very wobbly line guide and many of my other reels do so I don’t think it’s something to stress about. -the thumb bar being wobbly is also kind of unfortunate but also something that many other reels have. While it is something that’s not pleasing it will likely not affect your use as well. So… again not something to worry about. In any case, I do suggest voicing your concerns to dankung especially regarding the bearings. I know they have been working to send them out so it won’t hurt to find out if they’ve sent yours out or not. In any case, I do hope you get your concerns addressed! Please keep me in the loop as to what happens as I am curious how dk handles this event. Thank you for sharing your experience and cheers my friend!

I don’t know the exact story of why Tackle Advisors stopped making videos but I think it had something to do with the fact that he had a kid and also a work commute that was quite long and time consuming. Hey Abel! Thanks for commenting my friend! I feel like it’ll be difficult to answer your question because I’ve never owned a RH DWU let alone a modified RH DWU. I think… the upgraded magnets of the static brakes are quite good though and that making it a dynamic system might make it better but… is it worth the effort? I can’t say… the addition of the springs isn’t the easiest upgrade to perform. I think replacing the bearings might be an easier upgrade to do. I hope that helps! Hey skuba! I’ve liked the gomexus handles that are 85mm in length. They have some that have silicon handle knobs and they just started selling some carbon handles with knobs recently as well. I’ll likely be showing those in a video soon. If you don’t want to spend over $10 on the gomexus handles then seasir and artsea on aliexpress have some handles that look decent as well. Just make sure you get handles that use the 8mm x 5mm opening and aren’t too long. 80-90mm is likely the best for bfs applications. For the spool pin removal tool, I just have an acehawk spool pin removal tool but you can find quite a few on aliexpress. Otherwise, I believe rorolure has a few options. Hope that helps and cheers!

Hey Dave! Honestly, both reels are quite good for the money. I guess which I would recommend depends on what you want to use the reel for. Do you want the looks/aesthetic of a round reel? Or do you simply want the performance of the arise air. I think both reels perform well and cast very light lures well. I feel like the Haibo casts sub 1g lures ever so slightly better in terms of accuracy but they both cast sub 1g well. Neither reel is perfect and have their own downsides but they are minor imho. So in the end the question is for yourself as both reels are good choices imho! Sorry my answer isn’t really a one or the other answer but I hope that helps a bit! Cheers Dave!

Hey Eric! That’s a good question. I haven’t quite test cast each of these reels down to 1g but I do know the arise air and the tendershoot can get under 1g. I am almost certain the ff01 can as well and I believe Paul has cast under 1g with it over on his channel. Iirc, I was getting the arise air to cast a 0.6g practice lure around 30 ft. I need to try using the same setup with the FF01 and the tendershoot. Imho, if you want a round reel but don’t want to shell out the big bucks for a conquest or millionaire then the tendershoot is going to do well for you. That being said, if you want to know how far the TS can cast 1g you’ll have to wait a bit until I can find a moment to test these guys back to back. Imho, all three of these reels are unique choices and I don’t think anyone will go wrong with any of them but we’re kind of getting to that point where performance is reaching diminishing returns and the consumer is paying more for different looks, build materials and quality. Lmk if you’re interested in distances and cheers my friend! PS we haven’t been washed away and no new testing facility in the driveway haha.

@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL With my mediocre casting ability, probably my casting distance with all three of these reels (also the DWU and Acura) will not differ greatly. I have plenty of the low profile BFS reels and was looking to try something round. Would love the conquest but price wise it is a long ways off so the TS may be a good intro into round BFS. This entire topical storm thing was a dud. So much for doom and gloom. No private driveway lake for you so you'll still need to 4-wheel drive your Pathfinder down to the local public lake lol.

@@zankyou101 hey Eric! Hahaha the Honda pathfinder was put out to pasture and in its place we went full on minivan mode. Getting back to the tendershoot, I actually purchased the aioushi round reel to see if that would be a good competitor to the TS but I was not very impressed with its build quality. It’s essentially an upgraded w300 and that reel is nothing to write home about. I still need to get a video out about it and try it out but I am not holding my breath about it. Anywho, without digresses too much more if you’re looking for a solid performing budget round reel then my vote goes to the TS. It’s no conquest for sure but it almost makes you forget about them because it’s pretty darn good in its own right. Anywho… getting back to the hurricane… yea in our area it was just rain all day. Luckily nothing bad happened and hope others experienced a dud of a storm rather than a crazy one… lmk what you decide on going with! Cheers my friend!

Hey ltdan! Hm… do you know if both spool bearings you got are bfs st? I have a feeling that one of them might not be and that that bearing is the bearing that is causing you noise because it might not be fitting correctly… it might be that the shim is too large a diameter and might be hitting both inner and outer races of the bearing as it spins and causing the vibration/sound that you’re hearing. Also, ooc is your spool pin centered correctly on the spool shaft? I’m curious what kind of noise you’re talking about though… any chance you can send me a short video clip? I do applaud ifishband and dankung for taking the right action and stepping up to address the issue instead of ignoring it or just putting blame on someone. Kudos to them for that. Hey Steven! Thanks for confirming! I find that for my time zone that they will respond usually in the evening but it also depends on where you are located in the world. As far as the bushings are concerned, DK should send you a set of replacement bearings because it sounds like your reel went out before it was able to be recalled by the factory. In any case, the replacement is very easy and requires some tools that you likely have handy at home. Would love it if you keep us in the loop with the progress so that more information is shared! Hey Fabio! Yea I’ve been able to cast down to 0.57g on this reel. Of course don’t forget that your rod has to be able to handle that weight as well. I ended up casting a 2mm EWG, a micro snap, and a 50mm supercontinent worm that weighed in at 0.57g. Kind of crazy… my casts were maybe around 20ft or so so not very far but I was able to do it. Hey Agus! I’m no expert when it comes to drag material and so your guess is as good as mine for this. I think it’s obvious when the material is carbontex but I’ve been told this may either be rulon or asbestos. I can’t confirm either material but I’ll try reaching out to the manufacturer for confirmation. Cheers my friend!

Hey Wayne! They’re not bad just a bit of an inconvenience as they’re not using all torx screws. Torx screws are actually a better screw imho as they don’t strip out as much but they’re an inconvenience in these reels as you have a mix match of posidrive(Phillips) style screws and then the odd torx screw. I would prefer if all screws were torx or all posidrive. Make things a bit easier for the maintenance process. Hope that helps explain things a bit and cheers my friend!

@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL I tend to agree with ya on torx, I thinkthe reel makers should use all if 1 style fastener torx or hex. As far as hex stripping out I haven't had that issue as long as you use the correct tool size & not some cheaply made driver, 99% of my drivers are by Chapman manufacturing co. , u might look at them

@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL for me if i buy new reel that is the first thing that i will check and make sure to work properly..i dont mind to watch your long videos..i used to follow and watch other reel channel that average videos is 20++ minute but when that channel start to have biased opinion when being sponsor and try to cover the flaw by stating some random stuff that when i stop watchin..i think the sideplate bearing is used to be some weird size bearing..but for easy to replace and buy the bearing they just put shim..and if you want a easy estimate how far your cast is just buy a braid that change color every 10m

Hey Eric! I would say don’t bother. The tendershoot is no conquest and you’ll see the difference between the two immediately. While the tendershoot is a great reel it’s a bit of a compromised one that required a lot of sacrifices to hit the price point. Also, it seems like the reel and the clamber have had some quality control issues that are still seemingly ongoing. Save your money and enjoy the cq! Cheers my friend!

Hey elmacho! Imho, for $140 I think the reel is definitely worth the price. However, if you are expecting a reel that is “made in Japan” jdm level quality you will be setting yourself up for disappointment. If you want a reel that casts extremely well, has a round a profile, and are not expecting “made in Japan” level quality then I think you will be very pleased with this reel. Hope that helps! Hey reel! They are a legit seller however they don’t have the best communication. Some people have complained about a bit longer shipping times but I do believe they are working on that.
