In the summer of 1993, Roland Orzabal visited the U.S. to promote the release of Elemental, the first Tears for Fears album without Curt Smith. Here are two U.S. Tv interviews.

Elemental is my favorite record of all time. I loved it when it came out, but was too young to keep up with interviews / press for it. So thank you for posting this, this album was horribly overlooked and unappreciated.

Just so awesome to actually hear the backstories and to hear them talk sometimes instead of listening to the music 24/7. bands and artists aren't just there for you listen to music, they're also there so you can listen to them speak and hear what they have to say, and its so interesting. I think Tears For Fears has some fantastic stories and Roland has done some great interviews.

Can't believe this is like 20 yrs ago. Roland aged alot since this video. He was in his 30's here. Wish he still looked kinda close to this. Don't matter anyway, I still love you Roland. You are an intense, talented lyrical genius and great guitarist. You've inspired me to learn to play the guitar.😍😍

He was only 32 and looking rather debonair! Is it the tortured artist syndrome? Perhaps a lot of self-soothing has been going on over the years. We are all guilty of that..

I agree with you enmasse - it is his best album and is very unapreciated. One of only 2 British artists from the 80s who hasn't put a foot wrong yet (Songwriting wise). The other one is George Michael. Even Prince has wrote some bummers. And he's a fu****g genius.

So,I have never seen the video he is referring to regarding one of my favorite Songs, Break it Down. He says it's about the "Beauty of decay" Later ,he says it was through" trials and tribulations" he wrote/ collaborated with Alan GRIFFITHS+to create ELEMENTAL. I like to say "Bad things are Good things in Disguise" if not for those trials and tribulations There would be no ELEMENTAL. it's an ongoing process , Living and Learning is PERSISTENCE is the Key 🌎

@natesot Ian Stanley left during the production of "The Seeds of Love" due to creative differences. Probably had something to do with Roland's changing visions for TFF.

Why is being a father and a famous musician a bad recepie for Happiness? Minus the fame , my father was a Nature nut, so my sister, myself & mom were always camping, spending time outdoors. I think it's like John Lennon and Paul McCartney. They sound different separately but blend well together. Roland and Curt do have distinctive voices separately. But, I think they match closer than John and Paul did.

He's always kept his hair in this fashion since this album release. The latest TFF album has him with longer hair and gray/white all over. Sorry, never going to happen.
