When I first heard this song on my crappy car radio, I immediately liked it. But I couldn’t quite understand the lyrics, and I thought they were singing, “Everybody wants to move away.”

I'm just turned 70,the groups I filled were in the 60s they in a way launched pop music, look at the variety of acts,tears for dears were good,but Paul weller is and was still great,Billy joel another great musician and song writer,I didn't follow the beatles myself,my choice was otis redding,Wilson picket,early chicago,Blood sweat and tears,fantastic bands,real musicians performing live no backing tracks,no miming,these were artists who actually played the instruments,not relying on session musicians.

We will never forget the 80s. The music, the style.
@JSchaffer214 Жыл бұрын
I wish I could forget a lot of the music and style from the 80's. Why do people pretend like the 80's was some grand musical and stylistic era?! It wasn't! Sure there were some great songs to come out of the 80's, just like every other decade. However, most of it was junk! Especially that new wave crap! It sucked then and it sucks even worse now. And don't even get me started on the "style". Absolutely horrendous stuff! Note: Yes, I grew up in the 80's. While I have a lot of nostalgia for the decade, I'm not so deluded as to believe it to be something it wasn't.

I am 59 yrs old and anybody that grew up in the 80s knows we had the best music,girls,and just the best of times! If you grew up in the 80s you know exactly what I am saying. Just good times as Styx use to sing these are the best of times! People got along o matter what race religion or political stand we are now a divided country on every issue. It's so sad to see how far we have fallen. Just hang on to our memories of the 80s because they truly were the best of times!! Love my 80s family!!

I must say I thought the sixties were better,it's a strange thing that the young today can still sing the tunes from back then,but ask yhem to sing a rap song from the nineties, no chance,why because all the backing tracks were the same,with someone talking over them,in the sixties every act was different,Chicago just started,beatles just ended,the who,the kinks,the small faces,T rex,all individuals.sixties definitely the best.

It was the spring of 1985 and my college roommate Victor and I were sitting on our porch around noon drinking Corona beers and listening to music. This song came on and played while we chilled on that beautiful southern California day. We had plans to go to an end of the school year party later that evening. There was an ambience of relief, relaxation and happiness. Victor would be the best man in my wedding. Its been five years since he died of cancer. This song always reminds me that day and my best friend.
