I cried at this part of this episode TBH. Where the guy which is one of the former employee of that plastic company looked at Jane Everett, as if he's thanking her for bringing justice for those employees that the company disregarded and expose them to the whole world. And the way that Jane smiles back at him asshe was like saying "It's my pleasure, and this is Jane Everett Reporting" then vanishes..

The victim, Jane, initially wanted a story to truly break into the news scene. What she found would shake the community to the core with the unsafe working conditions and the top executives knew that asbestos was falling onto their factory workers. The one person she thought she could trust turned out to be the last person to ever tell the story to. How many groundbreaking stories are there today that are suppressed due to either company incentives or political ties? Jane was rather smart to keep the tape of her interview with the whistle-blower hidden among her personal belongings. No one thought twice when that stuff was given to her mother after Jane's death.

Always loved Cold Case endings, but this might be my favourite as it's probably the most powerful of all. Not a coincidence if it's the only I felt like searching on youtube to watch it again and again. This ending is a little masterpiece . The actors portrays the emotions amazingly here, the slow motion makes it so intense, and this song makes us shiver in the best way possible. It's generally so well filmed, but the moment that gets me the most is when the employee who blabbed on camera goes out of the building, looking so ashamed, powerless and defeated. And of course, this is one of the very best episodes of this show.

This episode should prove that news shouldn't be all about entertainment. It's about information and truth too. A woman had to die to prove that.

It's one of the best episodes of the series with the perfect song to end it.

I feel sorry for the world deprived of the difference several of the victims could have made had some of the victims like Howard Lang (“Red Glare”), Miriam Forrester (“Wednesday's Women”), Jane Everett (“Breaking News”), Jimmy Tulley ( “Shore Leave”) or the victim whose husband killed her & passed HER writing off as his own had not been murdered. Our world is much poorer deprived of the contributions they could've made.

Oh that's the guy that had his pitbull almost attack Lilly and the other detective. He was pretty bitter at the company he worked for because he lost everything (his house, and his healthcare plan) and not to mention his wife died after her and many other employees got cancer from the asbestos and the company knew they were exposing their workers to asbestos. The CEO of the company and the boss of that news outlet were in cahoots because they didn't want the story getting out.

Her case was made to sound like high profile in the 80s... a pretty TV personality dies... it didn't turn into a box job instantly. Although, saying that, I do find it odd that they didn't have an interview with anyone in the department that worked the original case... not even a junior Detective or patrolman that's been promoted or retired since. Far too often... even the cases that weren't more than 5-10 years old... they act as if there isn't a lieutenant or Detective left from the original go-around... ...like the shelf-life of a homicide Detective in Philadelphia is that short.
@Neku628 Жыл бұрын
@@varianschirmer9375 Yeah, that is one thing that is kinda odd about this show, no interview with the former authorities that worked the previous case, just a passing mention. Oh, and I do remember there was someone that died from poisoning because of the company in this episode's product.
