I played Eric Clapton version of this at my wife's funeral 6 years ago. I wish I would have found this version. When I would play American Indian flute music my wife knew I was having a bad day because of the rehab I went through. She would come up behind me hug me and kiss me on my neck tell me be strong my husband I love you.

I was silently crying until "in memory"... now, just sobbing. Stan's always a part of you and me. He was so proud to know such a fantastic energy. I just got a flute when I went to Utah and when I was driving home "Tears in Heaven" came on and I was like "oh man..this would be so pretty done with that flute"......and..I was right. This is amazing, thanks so much!

Jonny Lipford awwww...My two favourites. I thought it was F# and I was close to B. But I am about to receive my very first flutes. And then I'll self teach myself. ☺ I did it before on other instruments. I play alone with my violin, over alone with other music on TV. It doesn't look like a "High Spirit" Flute, but the black and what may throw it off. If not, you should take a look @ Odell Borgs Flutes. They are stunning, and their sound is true. I have 2, and I'm working on my 3rd. Either way, keep it up, sounds awesome.

You may find a backing track that you like on one of the KZfaq karaoke sites, which in turn can be purchased from a retail music website such as iTunes or Google Play. You may need to slightly adapt the verse and chorus structure from my version to fit, but you will be able to hear what needs to change. Have fun!

432 hz although beautiful will not sound consonant with western/classically tuned instruments which are at 440 hz, as in playing along to this song. However, it will be fine with any kind of percussion or as a solo instrument.

You can play this song in any key you wish, although it was recorded in F# if you would like to play along with the KZfaq video to learn. Check out horizonsfluteschool.com for online learning. Yes, this can be played with a 5-hole flute but the sheet music is for 6-hole flute. A little adaptation is necessary for some notes on the 5-hole. Seems that this style of slow air chamber would be hard to dry out properly.

Thanks for tuning in! It is pretty much the same as most Native Flute designs. Just take the block off to dry the bottom and let the rest air out. Easy!
