His voice cracking, Cleveland Police Officer Anthony Espada is seen on the video fighting back tears, as he describes the moment he first saw Amanda Berry then had Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus run into his arms.

When I tell people this story, I focus more on Michelle. The day she was abducted, she was trying to get to court to be granted custody of her son. All throughout the 11 years, she was thinking about her son. When she was finally rescued, her son’s adoptive family said Michelle is not allowed to have contact with him. Truly heartbreaking!!

The Reason why Michelle was only referred to as "another girl" initially is because, she was not really considered a missing person. Many thought she had simply left home due to child custody disputes. Today she became a hero. Caterpillar to Butterfly. God Bless you Michelle, Gina, Amanda, and to that innocent 6 year old beautiful girl. Your living is just beginning.,
@amandaroman34714 жыл бұрын
Her family never reported her Missing for a long period of time but before they where rescued I’m not sure how they did link them 3 missing girls together so they knew but didn’t care because she was just some poor white girl with a broken home: she just didn’t have that headliner look to get people going like Amanda and Gina did. The things he did to her shock even me for example making her watch tv and show her no one cares and even brought home missing posters and reminded her she had none. He bragged about going to visuals for the two girls but not her. He would verbally and sexually abuse her on a regular basis often many times a day. She received some of the most ungodly treatment ... the worse of it all was she had became pregnant several times and when she became noticeably pregnant he would viciously beat her and stomp on her stomach until she had a miscarriage. So for her to watch the little girl grow up w her mom probably ripped her heart out. He did it just to be cruel to her. A horrible horrible monster.
@amandaroman34714 жыл бұрын
.... after the rescue while Amanda and Gina are doing interviews and living it up ...... Michelle was in the hospital fighting for her life at just 80 lb she was suffering from a horrible virus and told she had just a couple days to live... and again. No one cared.
@Wtf918212 жыл бұрын
@@amandaroman3471 Okay, i live in Cleveland so let me clear it up. She wasnt referred to as the "other girl" because she "didnt have the headliner look", whatever that suppise to be. She wasnt known, no one knew who she was. She was an adult when she was taken, she had just lost her kid. It couldve been a runaway. Amanda was a day away from being 17, she left everything at home, all her money, clothes, ect. A 17 year old wont do that. Gina was 14. 14 years old. Amanda and ginas family looked for them all the time, they were all over the Cleveland news, every year. Yeah, he treated Michelle like shit and vile, but that doesnt mean he treated the other girls better. You said it yourself, he went to Amanda and Ginas vigils, thats terrible. Can you imagine the man whos raping you, beating you, and taking away your childhood going to your parents and giving them his condolences? Thats sick, that would make me sick. Then he brought they're posters back so he can show them that they're never going back. Michelle has said herself, she didnt put up with anything and always fought back. Thats the difference between Michelle and Gina and Amanda. Gina and Amanda were submissive to him. Michelle wasnt, hence why she would be beat more, hence why he starved her and didnt give her special treatment. Kudos to her for sticking her ground, seriously. But in a survial situation, you cant bite the hand that feeds you and expect to be treated fair. Im not blaming her by any means, its all terrible. But you cant make it out like no one gave a fuck about michelle and she was treated the worst because in all honesty, they all had it bad. Amanda and Gina were playing a smart game and michelle is just a fighter. Plus you cant say Gina and Alamda were out here living they're best life after the hospital. They dont owe each other anything, no time, no tears, nothing. They shouldnt trama bond, they shouldnt talk, they shouldnt even see each other. Thats a painful reminder of the last decade of their lives. Amanda had to figure out how to raise this daughter that was brought into the world. She had to be strong for Jocelyn because im sure she was confused and scared. Gina didnt talk on an interview forever and hardly wanted to be seen, ( also, she just got car jacked a gun point a couple months ago, bet you didnt hear that. Wanna know why? Amanda, Gina, and Michelle are all Cleveland names. They live here, we support them, all of them). She was a child, she had her virginity taken on her best friends dads couch, by her best friends dad and her dads friend. Traumatizing Alone for a child to go through it. They wanted their families after they got out the hospital and try to have a normal life.
@GrizzlyPurpleBearKatie2 жыл бұрын
Yes, consider that wasn’t a missing person. Because police didn’t consider her as missing, they believe that her was a runner away. So they didn’t even bother to continue her case. Even her parents believe that, so they stop looking for her too.

I agree they should pay more attention to Michelle. But I don't know if Amanda knew her name...Ariel introduced Michelle as his "roommate" and played loud music in the hall so they couldn't talk to one another in their separate rooms. Thank God that these girls were found! The women may be the real heroes, but these cops are heroes, too. I loved hearing about how the girls came out and these cops were so warm and welcoming, hugging them, gently asking their names and escorting them out, treating them so gently and sweetly and nurturing, like the cop telling Michelle she won't let her go now that she's found, so wonderful. And you don't typically hear of cops getting this emotional when stuff like this happens, but it's so touching to hear them talk about how overjoyed they were at finding them; as overwhelming as this was for them, this was an honor, a great privilege for them to meet, rescue and comfort these poor women, showing them how cherished they really are, and they are freed from the hands of a demon. I wish all the women, their families, and these police nothing short of the best. :)

If it wasnt 4 that 6 year old little girl they most probably would of been in there 4 another 11 years or mabey even more. I'm so glad those offices found them. It's sad that Amanda's mum never got 2 see her daughter again RIP 🪦 😇

What’s so crazy to me is that Ariel Castro was friends with Gina De Jesús father. Gina was best friends with his daughter. He knew Gina and still did that to her.

Michelle had suffered the most unimaginable horrors while the other two captives where abused as well but not nearly as bad as Michelle. Some sad things come to mind: First he would allow them to watch television and Michelle had to sit there watching countless news reports about Gina and Amanda with tearful family members begging for their safe return... the wanted posters showed around town... the candlelight visuals.... detectives doing press conferences ... you name it. All focused on Gina and Amanda who became HEADLINE NEWS all over the world while no one really gave a crap about Michelle. No one even bothered to look for her for quite some time... just some poor girl with a broken home and troubled past that no one really cared about... not even her own family. Her treatment was much more harsh than the other two girls.... suffering from ongoing beatings and savage rapes on a regular basis while always verbally abusing her any chance he got. She even became pregnant on more than one occasion and when asked why the other girl was able to give birth and keep her child she replied that he thought she was scum and didn’t want his child inside her... So when she became visibly pregnant he would literally beat her and stomp on her stomach until she had a miscarriage. I just can’t even imagine how broken she must have felt... he made her feel like she was nothing... less than nothing even. I know the other girls where also abused that’s for sure but Michelle for the bulk of it which deeply saddens me... She was the first to vanish and had someone actually cared and possibly found her- the other two may never have been abducted at all. It’s a really disturbing thought.... Even after the rescue her family really wasn’t even interested in being reunited with her...no groups of people rushing to her for photos and interviews and hardly any new reports barely mentioning her and continuing to give the attention all to Amanda and Gina instead... just like the cop has done here in describing the rescue. Heartbreaking

The Police are our family!!! I never stop thanking them , I teach my kids that if you have a problem call your family in blue, they're never afraid if someone is shooting at you they shoot back!! Thank an officer today!

As crazy as it may sound I think the little girl softened Ariels heart. It seems like he knew the end was near and it was time to let the cat out of the bag. What he did was atrocious and unforgivable and what those girls suffered at his hands was horrible

+Edwin Sandoval Dude was a COWARD. Plain and Simple. He couldn't deal 30 days of what he put them through minus the rape, beatings, etc.. It's not my job to decide how people die, but hanging himself with a chain would have been more appropriate. And yes *very unforgivable*.

that's good for u and your family....if these girls were officers kids they would've tore the houses down looking for them 🖒🖒

I don’t know if it’s possible to have this kind of case in the Philippines especially when houses are close to each other. Maybe yes? Neighbors naturally love gossips and to gossip each other. Either they’re curious about you and always meddling with your life or they just care and concern.
