I HATE it when an influencer gets called out and somebody starts complaining about “cancel culture” like GIRL no one is trying to cancel Mikayla. We’re just calling her out on her dishonesty, influencers have an expectation to be regular people just like us who are unbiased with their opinions. She did absolutely nothing to deserve to be de-platformed and everyone understands that. She is not a helpless victim.

I have to say Kristi explained it best. I remember watching review videos on KZfaq as someone trying to get into makeup so I could find out what was good and what was not so I wasn’t waisting money. As a beginner I can’t imagine how it would feel buying a product thinking about how amazing it made someone look and not getting a close result. It would make me feel like I did something wrong and discourage me a bit.

SO... Mascara not only brought down Mikayla, it also made people forget why they cancelled Jeffree in the first place. Lol.

Hear me out, ever since the drama started everyone and their brother have rushed out to buy this mascara just to prove Mikayla was lying about false lashes, so they are still getting their money. The thing that will always get me about the Tati Westbrook drama is, regardless of the facts that we know now, she was willing to hold on to that information so long as he promoted her products and not her competition; which tells me everything I need to know about her.

i am glad that Jeffery pointed out, that he said he can do honest reviews because he owns his money. and it's true. he is an excellent buisness person. he really used his money to make his own brand. so he never has to rely on someone else's to offer him money. Hes made himself incredibly independent and I feel like despite all his other controversy , this why he will continue to succeed. he constantly invests in things that make his own money.

What Jeffree has done and been cancelled for is way worse than lying about a mascara on TikTok. He’s way too eager to jump on drama and pile on other people.

Brands are BANNED from using false lashes in their commercials - there are so many ways to make eyelashes look big and unreal without falsies.

I will just put it in the words of a judge. If you believe they are lying once, consider everything they say as a lie, It shows character. It is sad that it was worth her honesty and that sucks so bad because she felt different from what became the standard beauty community that many grew tired of here on YT. Now it appears some of the TikTokers caught up really quick with the shenanigans.

I haven’t checked in with beauty drama for a few years until this Mikayla situation but when TeaSpill mentioned lipstick hairs being the major talking points of beauty drama back then I lost it 😂😂😂

I look at what Jeffree said and I look at what Kristi said and to me just those two statements say everything about the beauty community and who has their audiences' best interest at heart. I love that Kristi said that she would hate to make one of her viewers feel duped or that it was their fault that they couldn't get the same results with a product. Yes Jeffree may have a good track record when it comes to reviewing products honestly, but his intentions usually aren't in the right place. He isn't going back to reviewing makeup bc he cares about his viewers, he knows this is an opportunity to get a boost in views and maybe be able to regain the status on TikTok that he lost on KZfaq. But Jeffree ultimately only cares about Jeffree and everything he says and does should be seen through that lens. Kristi on the other hand showed why she has earned the trust and respect of the community with no qualifiers, she just is someone who has proven that she is who she says she is and it is important to look at influencers' actions in comparison to their words when we choose who we follow. Yes, many of these people have proven that they are easily corrupted by money and those people have fallen from great heights bc of it. Jeffree's views are down on KZfaq bc we see who he really his and we aren't going to support someone who is so toxic. I think he sees TikTok as a clean slate and his message is very deceptive given who we know he is. I hope his attempt to take the TikTok crown from Mikayla is unsuccessful and that creators on TikTok who are more like Kristi end up filling up that space.

I know I may be a "one off" here but I've been watching Beauty KZfaqrs since 2010-2011. I remember when filters weren't a thing, sponsorships weren't the norm, PR was sent to a very select few influencers, most would always say "this was bought with my own money"..and it was real. Normal. For every day people who loved makeup, beauty and skincare. Makeup looks weren't impossible, full coverage was kept for modles or photoshoots not every day wear, only a handful of brushes were used, contouring wasn't a thing besides some bronzer, no tea, no drama, no fake reviews..the biggest scandal was Blaire and Elle not using their real government names..man I miss JuicyStar07, Elle, MissGlamorazzi...take me back!

It played a large role sure but people have been begging for him to start reviewing products again for a while now bc he was always 💯 with his opinion. If he approved it, it was worth the hype plain and simple. Mikayla & many other tiktokers has pushed many many products & they have been absolute garbage or not even close to amazing like they claim. The maybelline powder was another product she made look to be bomb when in reality it was basic and nowhere near worth the hype. 2- I love how ALL the people who have been screaming hate for Jeffrey are now all excited about him returning.

To be fair, jeffree star did the best makeup reviews. He was really good at it. It’s a shame things got messy and he lost the touch with what made him so likable.

We live in a time where money is tight for alot of people. For some getting some make up is a treat they save up for (considering its 14-18$) it sucks when people lie to their fans they end up buying garbage when they could have gotten something good. My personal drugstore fav is covergirl lashblast the og orange tube. Its cheaper too. Its not alot to ask someone to be honest is it? Because thats all people are really asking...

While I completely understand the anger that a lot of people have toward influencers when it comes to something like this especially when money is involved….I think a lot of us need to remember that none of these content creators would have the platforms that they have, or the money that they have….if it wasn’t for all of us as a society constantly watching them. I guarantee that a majority of these creators didn’t even plan on becoming something huge, they just wanted to do it for fun and for their love of makeup, and as the viewers we started paying attention to them, which made them more money. We all collectively put them onto that pedestal so when we hate on them for having huge platforms, and then doing something bad, we should take a moment to realize that we put them there.

I think jeffree star was always planning on coming back to reviewing makeup but on TikTok because KZfaq is a dead space for him. I truly think it was an opportunity of circumstance, and he just chose to capitalize on this moment to make that dramatic re-entrance into the beauty space. he typically is all about making a splash and having that dramatic affect to everything he does. Everything has to be a big moment with him. No pun intended but basically the stars lined up for him, and just went with the narrative, because let’s face it it is a perfect opportunity to regain a ton of following that has probably forgotten about a lot of his shady past. That’s pretty clear already with a lot of the comments and videos. I’ve already seen just in the past 24 hours.

Jeffrey hasn’t always been honest on makeup products , his own products have been pretty terrible at times and needed to be reformulated while viewers were shown a decent product on his channel.. He has also been bias , especially against brands he doesn’t like.
